They look a bit dawn ting to say the least well not much on TV

    Thanks again much appreciated

  • Great video! Looking forward to the tab :-)

  • Thanks so much for the TABS to this. I have looked high and low for an accurate Herb Ohta-style TAB to this song and you have absolutely nailed it. It is a bit of a stretch for my current skill level, but I am getting it down little by little. Thanks again!

  • Beautiful playing - a heart-felt performance - the way all music should be played...

  • @DonTant0n0 no, it's high G in the vid, but on Ohta-san's original version, he has low G. I tend to play this on a low G soprano but fancied a change for this vid!

  • AMAZING truly, cant stop watching and now i have the TAB thanks mate, most people don't share things like this, your the man! 5 stars.

    mark.

  • @mab1049 Welcome, HAWAII is coming next.

  • Sojo says THANKS. Great Job, AND THANKS so much for the TAB

I posted this the day I got the tab, but it does not seem to have been posted..

  • One of my favourite songs from one of my favorite contemporary composers. Undeniably the best cover of Ohta-san's treatment of this song that I've heard. I don't believe I've come accross another clip that comes close to this. I'm truly inspired. Thank you for sharing.

  • You have the touch my friend!

  • thank you very much for the tab

    the tab is really fantastic

  • You're love for music is obvious and the tab for Stardust is spot on. Nicely done and much appreciated.....

  • Great playing and thanks in anticipation for the tab. I'm messaging you now!

  • Russell, did you ever receive the tab, I got a delivery failure notice from your email server, it's quite a big jpeg file.

  • Yes thanks it arrived fine !

  • Fantastica, simply fantastica.

And the way you play it adds emotion to the score.

  • Thanks! :D

  • very nice playing !

    very clearly played

I'm also very interested in the tab :)

  • Great Classic Thanks for the TAB you sent last week! Nice JOB

  • Excellent posting! I'd love an opportunity to try my hand at playing this.

  • Oh man.... Just great!!!

    More than 5 stars.

Really like to have the tabs!!!!

  • Thanks - tabs on their way to you now.

  • Great job! Thanks for the tab. I can tell I'll be working on this one for awhile -- especially the opening. Mighty fast chord changes.

  • Yep, they are quick. Note that Ohta-san uses a single finger to bar 2 strings in some of them, namely the first Am7 shape, the G6 (which might actually be an eminor I can't decide) and the B7+5. Watch his video to see how, my fingers don't work like that as I am primarily a guitar player.

  • Very nice work. Thanks for the tab, I use a laminate Kala yhat plays great...but worry a solid Kala wont be as loud as a more expensive one. What do you think?

  • Thanks :) Awesome ragtime stuff on your channel! I'd go for the solid - I compared both in the store, and the loss of volume is not that much - and it's accompanied by a beautiful mellow sound that is just what I imagine a ukulele should sound like.

  • I tabbed this out. If you want it, let me know!

  • Great job! I think you've got a guitarist's fingers :)

    What is this uke, btw?

  • The uke is a Kala Concert, all Koa - A cedar top version is available too. JhGarl has one :). I do have a guitarist's fingers. I keep them in a matchbox.

  • Coincidentally I just ordered Kala cedartop tenor for low-G. I was biased against Kala with Aquilas(?). I now think it's fine, especially when a guy like you playes well :)

  • I do love the Kala - I now have Worth Brown Medium on it, but this vid was Aquila Nylgut. I put Low G Brown Worth on my soprano *cheap* Mahalo, and it sounds pretty awesome now. Thanks :) P.S. I think you're going to like tha Kala

  • Thanks for the details, Pete. Yeah I hope I will love the Kala. I would like to use classical guitar strings. I might use flat tuning depending on its bracing.

  • I figured it out from a close-up vid on youtube. It's in my favourites. It should really be a low-G soprano, but what the hey.

  • Wow! Flawless.. well done. Where did you find the music for this?

  • Thanks!
