i have a question. i have a tube amp thats been sitting in my basement for some time. when i turned it on, i put it in standby mode to let the tubes warm up. but it began to smell like something was burning and im afraid becuz it seemed like it was about to catch fire just by the smell. is this normal? how can i do an easy check to make sure its nothing serious and this is just how an amp warms up.
@93FordMustang93 You have to replace the capacitors in old tube equipment otherwise it will short, do not plug it in until you have learned to replace or have hired someone to replace and have replaced the capacitors.
