  • the way he sings the last verse is just increadable ........just makes me crumble ....

  • Just perfect.....

  • David Gray is phenomenal and such a gent as well :)

He is vastly under rated though

  • I never bought any CD except DG.. His music is forever lasting

  • The first David Gray song I heard was 'Babylon'. I had no info about who it was but spent 2 days tracking it down. I now have 'Babylon' as my cell ringtone.

  • Goes to show a bad workman can't blame it on his tools as he still sounds brilliant.

  • Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, David Gray, Avett Brothers...there needs to be no more than that.

  • Probably the most ingenious invention in history of music, the piano.

David Gray, the instance of a brilliant musician with wonderful lyrics and music in modern times. Both together, damn, could it be better? I don´t think so.

  • I can't even articulate the emotions that this song and all of his music inspires....his music is brilliant, his lyrics are absolute poetry, and his voice is soulful and haunting...David Gray is in a class of his own...

  • I am a huge lover of music. i'm familiar with thousands of artists and all genres of music. But David is the best. My favorite artist ever.

  • I'm moved.

  • He was born 30 years late...good for us however (who loved the singers/songwriters of the 60' - 70's)

  • david gray is just awesome!!!!

i'm big fan of his music!!!

    greetz from germany :)

  • thats a present this guy

  • An incredible song - my favorite along with "nemesis."

Give me your ecstasy and I'll feel it open window and I'll steal it baby like it's heaven sent -- WOW!!!

  • Thank you so much marcello for posting these amazing DG videos!! We are so blessed to get to see them. I had the wonderful privilege of seeing DG for the first time this past spring and was grateful to God for the experience. I was moved beyond words the entire time.

  • I keep coming back to this video, hauntingly beautiful song and i love how it gets a life of its own whenever he performs it live, the raw emotion in his voice, just perfect.

  • he is amazing!!!!

  • He is No.1.

Right now, at this moment, there's no one like him on the music scene...

  • "On winter trees the fruit of rain Is hanging trembling in the branches Like a thousand diamond buds And waiting there in every pause That old familiar fear that claws you Tells you nothing ain't no good Then pulling back you see it all Down here so laughable and small Hardly a quiver in the dirt". . . . . he is amazing, David Gray could be Dylan as a poet Love him
  • "Maybe that it would do me good If I believed there were a god Cut in the starry firmament But as it is that's just a lie And I'm here eating up the boredom On an island of cement Give me your ecstasy I'll feel it Open window and I'll steal it Baby like it's heaven sent" . . . . . He is a poet and sings like an angel, I love this song, David Gray is great!!!

  • @lordalfred1 This verse troubles me.... I stronglt believe in God and I love David's music. He believes that he would be better off he didn't believe in God that he would be better off in doing so. For what reason? I have been searching for this answer a long time. I guess the only way I will know is if I have the opportunity to ask him personally. I doubt I will....

  • @raymond052367 : I don't think he means he no longer believes in God-look

at the first line again, he starts with "Maybe". And he ends the song with a chuckle,

he is using his artist's license here. Just as if if I were painting a picture and I

wanted to use green for the sky, that's my artist's license. Just enjoy the music

and don't try to find meaning in it. I think he is a great singer songwriter!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think he enjoys making music & singing

for an audience-he always looks happy

    even singing a sad song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I sang the song with my schoolband but nobody can sing it like he does!! He's just amazing.

  • Wow, what pipes. Cant wait to see him in March when he hits STL.

  • This song is amazing. It's one of my all time favorites :)

  • He sounds a little hoarse but this is song is all about the piano, very nice.

  • Wow that was great Marcell I love hearing him sing this song... just him and the piano. I hope he does this for Eileen and I in portland and seattle!
