  • I always play this song on the tape deck when I'm driving to the coast and back. I love it.

  • @MrMickthemonster Yeah, good memories mate.

  • @EnarPilrith1 Of great times.

  • @MrMickthemonster For sure. In the video clip, you see a bottle of bundaberg rum, it hasn't really changed much since then, lol.

  • To all Americans and Europeans clicking into this song by chance, this is typical Aussie Oi Oi Oi song. Light-hearted, easy going, laid-back, happy-go-lucky, plenty of Bundy beer but most importantly no arse/tit flashing like Gaga or a black rapper intervening in the middle of the song like today's "Baby" or "Price Tag".

  • @josemour100 Cheers mate. Agree 100%. Is bundaberg rum ok? That's all i got...

  • I just wanted to say, I was never a fan of Australian Crawl, but when he brought this song out, I instantly liked. I put it in the same mould as Tim Finn's 'Hit the Road Running', I think is the name of the song, both classics. Awesome song James.

  • English, James, English!!!

Instead of the Enigma code during WWII, they should have used Reynesie!

The enemies wouldn't know what the hell they were hearing!!!

  • @ 3:41 ,that kids putting "One More River" into the water.

  • Pick up the bat phone and call me! :D

  • This could be the next Roll.

  • Verses are mesmerising.

  • Fantastic

  • Great great song, never made it here in Pommy-land but I am a big fan of Reyne and Aussie Crawl. That was some summer!

  • Such a wicked song, James Reyne totally rocks... "Yeah Yeah"

  • i've seen James in concert a few times and he always used to replace "batphone" with "shoephone" .....tribute to get smart I guess

  • LOVE it. Learned the song & album when I lived in Australia in 1989. Thanks for the memories!

  • Always a favourite.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't James Reyne become a big hit in South America, especially Brazil, during this phase in his career?

  • Jamesey rocks! His singin style is very good, have rediscovered him after 11 years. Thanks for postin it Videocliprevival :)

Twas a good song way back when...

  • I believe it's "bat phone" in the first verse and "pay phone" in the second, but I'm not certain.

  • "pick up the PAY hone and caaaaalll me, I believe"

    great song - great singer!!!!

  • Sometimes its a little hard to understand James. Great song. Makes you proud to be Aussie!

  • Caull meeee,Caull meeee,Pick up the backbone? and dial my number?!!I'm sure he said backbone!!Geez,i forget this song, good little song.

  • i used to love this song as a kid!!! i didnt even know who sang it till now! thank u for posting!!!!

  • Great song! Certainly brings back memories of great Aussie music of the 80's. Also love the reggae feel to this song.

  • Mate... the good ol' Bundy Rum features in this clip! Yeah I bought the Cassette album that this song is on, as I couldn't afford a CD player at the time! Simple great music in those days.

  • bloody good on ya for putting this on 50 stars

  • This one takes me back to when I was 13. One of those great songs which was flogged to death on radio playlists at the time and then permanently discarded forever after but once I got the best of CD was taken straight back to a song I'd forgotten about. Jim is a legend.

  • I love this one!!!!

  • Listening to this song reminds me of being on holidays : )

  • great!

  • geez I'd have called him 4 sure!!

  • Parts of the clip remind of Daryl Braithwaites - One Summer.

    Great job JAB!

  • There was an attempt a couple of years ago to release a definitive Australian Crawl / James Reyne DVD with all the music videos. However, a "rights dispute" between certain music companies saw it shelved permanently. As a consequence of this nonsense, fans are left antagonised and artists are deprived of income from potential sales.

  • How typical :-{ Hopefully James will get some flow on sales / legit downloads as a result of 1st time potential fans stumblin' across this classic material ;-)

  • thanks, love this song, oh the memories!
