Canada sucks no offence, Brazil is beast so they didn't have any competition unlike when they played against USA in the 2008 summer olympics, that was a really good game. Good thing USA beat them and the libero for USA is beast!

@ctatertot9 Going to disagree with you on a few points there. Canada just beat Serbia in the world championships, when we play good volleyball we can be a very good team. But our players lack international experience because we had to drop out of world league due to lack of funding, and our players don't get to train like USA or Brazil, there's just no budget for it. USA beat Brazil in the Olympics partially because Brazil had many injuries. Also Sergio is much better than Lambourne.

@tallerthanyou @tallerthanyou There I recorded off of satellite t.v. There are places on the internet where you can stream several volleyball matches, but the quality isn't quite so great.

If you live in the U.S. then you can watch the World League (since U.S. will certainly be in it) probably on ESPN, and it happens every year, for about 6-8 weeks, starting in late May or early June.... Something like that.

You can try justin,tv, or laola1,tv... also check out volleyball-movies pl

You can if you don't touch tu net and if the ball go back if your terrain... after thath you must exped the ball in the other terrain between the antennas.

You cant go under the net like that, the only exceptions are if you are playing JO's or you are playing in the olympics.

.... You can go under the net like that in any competition following FIVB rules, which is most of them in the world, even high school or college teams would have the same rules.

At this time, you just couldn't have 1 foot fully on the opponents floor, and you have to bring back the ball outside of the antenna. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going under the net if you do it legally.

Don't touch the net, Don't step fully onto the opponents court, Don't interfere with the play, and you are pretty much good. There were new rules implemented by the FIVB this last February, they have become a little more lenient on net touches and touching the opponents court. Also, the ball has to travel on the outside of the court (or outside the antenna which is located on the net directly above the court line) on the way there and on the way back.

If you really want to know, go to the official FIVB site (google search it). Click on 'Rules' under 'The Game' menu. It will have all the official updated rules there.

Brazil didn't really need Sergio against Canada. They used a lot of other second line players (in this match and overs against Canada) as well... Anderson, Murilo, Andre-Heller instead of Nascimento, Giba/Dante, and Rodrigao/Gustavo. Nalbert was playing the week before in Brazil but injured himself there against Canada.

oh dont worry, its in the making, and i have footage from world league 2008 too. Its just time consuming and I dont have a ton of time, but its on the way.

btw. I sort of have a highlight video with some really good Olympic footage, and in much better quality. But i can't really post it because Youtube will taken down and ban my account.  That makes me angry, but I don't know what I can do about it.

So, I dunno what will happen with that. I have World League 08 footage which i can edit, but the quality is just do bad compared to the olympic HD that I barely want to make a video out of it. It will end up better quality than this though I think.

I see Ricardo, Andre, Dante, Giba, im sure they are in the starting lineup. Not sure about middle blockers though, would they have Gustavo and Rodrigao starting? I see Rodrigao but not Gustavo.

But yes Brazil has beat Canada with mostly 2nd line people. But hey, theres only 6 people on the court, and a country like Brazil has a lot of pro's to choose from. Canada had some injuries too though at this time, dont forget we didn't have Paul Duerden out there...

Im not sure where he was at that time, he may have been injured. I've never seen him play but ive heard very good things about him, and im not sure why he wasn't on the lineup. I just know for sure we were missing Duerden for most of World League, and Grapentine for a bit too. Would have loved to see them and Soonias on the court at the same time though. Maybe next year if Canada has enough funds to participate.

Nope, it was legal. You can go under the net, but you can't step on the opponents court when you do so. There are also antenna's on the net right above the line of the court. If the ball travels on the outside of the antenna both ways, then it is legal. In other words, the ball never really went over the net, it went beside it, so its fair game.

Yup that was mostly winters. I saw an old pic of the canadian team one time when he had no hair, or very little. Looked completely different until you took a second look at his face. But hes an effective hitter and passer, and certainly helps out the canadian offence quite a bit.

Sure I could do that. The only problem I find is with the format and video quality.

When you send in a video to Youtube, they have to reformat it right? This video I edited with one program, exported as Mpeg, loaded the Mpeg in Movie Maker, exported as .wmv which was uploaded to Youtube. The biggest drop in quality was when I uploaded to Youtube though. is there a format that I should upload in to get the best quality? Let me know

I was there in Mississauga to watch that, and about half the footage on this vid. Only made it to 1 out of the 2 games and it was pretty awesome to watch, even though Canada didn't win any sets, it was still good volleyball.
