I thought they all had to be mono hull after the 1988 america's cup and Dennis Conner pulled the bitch move of racing a cat. There was only mono-hulls after that

Indeed that is right. But the 12-meter rule was up until 1988, after that the International Americas Cup Class got introduced and that is the one that has been used until this cup.
