Can anyone tell me the kind of damage a gatka strike does? From a medical perspective? It does not seem to be a stabbing weapon. What kind of fatal wounds would it create? It seems it would wound badly and the opposing fighter would have to withdraw and concede defeat.

@ASSEMblerEX Gatka uses two swords. The khanda which is broad and heavy at the top, and a tulwar which is the curved sword you see this man have. The khanda does a lot of hacking damage because of the weight at the top and the talwar is a slashing weapon, because the nihang fighters, who are the ones who used gatka, were constantly outnumbered they used this martial art to fight numerous enemies at once. Spike tv's deadliest warriors ep. w/ rajputs shows the khanda and damage it does

the jathedhar who performs this gatka may seem disturbing to viewers but you have to realise that it takes years of practice. also it is impossible for anyone else to do this, the jathedhar along with other gatka performers are normally amritdhari, do path, naam simran and do gatka too. this shows they have the spiritual side in touch as well as the martial arts so they can perform deathdefying stunts without harming with the help of their 6th sense and mainly gurujis blessing.
