@HeidelbergSoprano that's a loaded topic. If you mean to say that there are no truly well-known ones, I could agree. If you mean to say that there are simply no very good Jewish singers worthy of an international career, I would take great issue with that. There are great singers around- great ones- and Tucker does NOTHING to help them.
kim josephson has the world's most beautiful baritone voice. it is a shame that the idiots at the met are deaf to beauty. check out his rigoletto. fantastic!!
I won't argue on the choices you made, but Valerian Ruminski is an incredible bass.Not shown to full capacity in this sextet.I have had the pleasure of singing with him twice,lastly he was the Commandatore in Don Giovanni.His voice is rich and liquid and-he is that rarity- a coloratura bass-
I agree. Saw Beth Clayton in Ermione in Dallas and she was fab. She's also Patricia Racette's partner. Ruth Ann though, is in a class by herself. What an amazing singer.
Great performers....yes, I remember reading about Beth and Ms. Racette in Opera News...it's so refreshing to see people being open about who they are....last night I listened to Racette's Butterfly on satellite radio at the Met, and it was simply marvelous.
I had the fortune to be in the same production of Carmen as her in Fort Worth the last two weeks, and what can I say, I'll never forget her Carmen, Simply amazing.
I find it very disturbing that this foundation almost never promotes Jewish singers- and Tucker was most famous Jewish since King David!

@Cantormatis Maybe because there are no current Jewish Opera singers that have internationally recognized voices...

@Cantormatis I know that I'm Jewish ;)

@HeidelbergSoprano So wouldn't it be great if Tucker did something for Jewish singers?

A long way from the Golden Age
of singing.

Is Greg Turay still performing? Saw him at OTSL a few years ago and thought he had a great future. I've not seenor heard him in awhile.

@geobabe73 Yes, Turay is still singing. He also sings musicals. He has a website that you can check his schedule.

I totally agree about KIM JOSEPHSON..sublime..what a gorgeous tone..by far the best voice in this sextet. Bravo Kim!

Josephson sounds great, but he's not the best voice in this sextet. That title goes to Ruth Ann...hands down. Her technique is unimpeachable.
