  • Funny when Bush jumped onto a destroyer in a green flight suit with a banner that read Mission Accomplished, no one pooped their pants about the phoney, staged, photo-op......the Republocrats are both doing same thing,so whats new...

  • it must be extremely humiliating for real soldiers to know this clown is has command authority over them.

  • Unlawfull order?

  • Im pretty sure most of.these men were in POA. Except the.ones taking.pics.... Hmmmm

  • I wonder what percentage of our military secretly hates Obama?

  • Admiral Mullen, not MC Mullen, was just breaking the tension you fuck tards. I'd cheer for Obama if I was still in cuz hed be my C and C and he got Osama, more than Bush did....

  • @mustanggundam ... 'He' didn't get s**t. That was the fruit of a plan put into place more than 10 YEARS ago. Lemme see now, 10 years... who was... ah yes, it was BUSH that was president 10 years ago.

  • @tazztt1

    I'll play...

By your logic, Clinton got Sadaam then. Damn Clinton is awesome huh ?

Bush didn't do shit to get Osama and even said he wasn't concerned about getting him because he was busy with wanting to go into Iraq.

  • how do you cheer for the guy that wants to bring america down and start a one world government , i could not cheer , ps, any one see the trillion dollars obama stold from us yet? you know that went to starting the one world government

  • @mrcooldude964 ... you don't... that's why they didn't... what they 'did' do was follow orders, with duress

  • They only cheered because the MC Said something, they would have done nothing start to finish if the MC did not say anything.

How can you cheer for someone you cannot trust or believe in?

Now Obama wants nto spend another Wad mof Cash we don't have to

make some fake jobs just to make fake numbers look better on paper.

It's all an Illusion Folks, "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain"...

The great and Wonderful Oz has Spo....ken...

  • They didn't cheer because he sucks.

  • @HerbertWestIII I know my oath very well thank you. What branch do you serve in or have you ever? (thought I asked you before, but most like you never answer). So you have let the cat out of the bag...you are a birther. I believe there are bigger problems in this country than that. Again, grow up. You are just a scared little birther that can't face the reality of the situation.

Traitor...I don't think so. Let's compare military service records. What a dipshit.

  • @HerbertWestIII Bite off a'hole. What are you doing? Do you serve or have you ever? The Constitution will be defended when the time comes. Kinda tough to do what you think is right when most "civilians" are the real weal knees here. Use your vote correctly. Grow up.

  • Could it be a majority of our military dont respec obama?

  • It is obvious there was no intention to cheer. But when an Admiral says cheer and you're in the Military, I don't care if it is your worst enemy, you cheer !

  • There are more ignorant and stupid comments to this than ignorant and stupid people in this video.

  • Whether you like Obama or not this is just uncomfortable to watch.

Things are not looking good for POTUS.

  • "You can go ahead and blindly cheer for your dictator whether you respect him or not." Got to love that military brainwashing. Accept an order even if you find it silly, immoral, or unethical. In the military you are punished for thinking for yourself. OBEY OBEY OBEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They should have shouted back "NO, YOU can go ahead and cheer if you want to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • @ChristopherWNelson

I like your comment, but if you notice, not all of them were cheering. Couple to the "one's" left just stood there. Good for them.

  • @7car7 He's still the Commander in Chief, and HE didn't sit doing nothing for 7 minutes after hearing the country was under attack, while his VP gave orders to the military.

  • @ChristopherWNelson Did you notice how sporadic the applause was, not very enthusiastic. Have you ever served in the military? It involves a little more than your simplistic idealism. Best thing to do is nothing, no applause, no nothing. That is the biggest insult that could be thrown at him...silence.

  • @Toddinfantry I prefer things simple and honest. The rest is b.s.

  • Thumbs up if yahoo sucks

  • Ah yes, President No Respect speaks again!!!

Our country crys because of this snake oil socialist!!

  • 4 MORE YEARS. 4 MORE YEARS. oh wait, wrong time period

  • room full of cracker rednecks then a nigger come in what do you expect fuck the goverment

  • @itZjstPotna AND WE HAVE A WINNER for "low brow of this thread"

  • @southpole1957 hunh?????????????????????

  • Nope, it is NOT protocol to not react when the president enters the room for a military audience. One only has to look at old videos of previous presidents at military functions to see the audience react..

  • I think many people are taking this wayyyy too seriously.

    Srs bizness ect.

  • Look at most of the people behind him, they hate him too!!!!

  • If they can take out their cell phones and record him they can clap!

  • When I was in Nevada, they had to force military personnel to be an audience for Rumsfeld. I doubt that President Obama had that problem.

  • I was on the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln when President Bush landed and when he gave his, now infamous, speech. We were given, in advance, intructions on how to act and what to do. Without being told what to do in these situations, most people in the military do not know what behavior is appropriate and therefore will remain silent until told to do otherwise, no matter how they feel about a person.

  • apparently the DOW fell over 500 pts. on that day, so im not surprised this didnt catch the media's attention. and it is a possible that there was a misunderstanding as to what they can do while 'at attention.' but ultimately who cares, b/c we all know that at least 90% of the people in that room dislike the president for what he has done in office thus far.

  • Lots of sheeple in here.

  • From teleprompters to staged people in his "town hall" meetings, everything about this guy is scripted and phony. During the Vietnam war, at the base theater in Guam they displayed a graphic (half) jokingly at the beginning of every movie that said "Guam is Good - By Order of the Base Commander". This reminded me of that...

  • @jbryant13 how is this not true of every politician?

  • @jbryant13 AHAAHAAHAA!! That was great. I've been to Guam many times so I know the sentiment....and the slippery crushed coral/shell roads.

  • Dylan Stableford you're a dipshit. Most of them are from a military background. Ever heard of "standing at attention"? So fucking stupid. You dumbass lemmings don't know jack shit about military ceremonies. Lack of media attention? Really? Dylan Stableford go off yourself you half ass journalist.

  • I'm also a disabled Army veteran, combat service connected, and I'm LOL'ing at the disabled Navy veteran's comments...Lets have a pissing contest, shall we? I spent my entire career in special forces groups, and USASOC. The white house advance team instructed them to cheer, if you actually read the article about this they were at attention for what, 23 minutes? I hate biased media...in other words, I hate most media that only shows one side, just like this.

  • Am I the only one that notices that the ones standing on the podium seem to be "at attention?" That's right, just automatically believe an article, without knowing anything about a military ceremony..way to go, sheep.

  • @kskusawa and the people in the audience with their camera phones held up filming him enter? Are they at attention as well?

  • @kskusawa : The ones with cell phone cameras aren't in the miltary, so they are not subject to military protocol or the UCMJ if they don't follow the protocol. Did you actually expect tehm to follow military protocol?

  • @benhoweblog well you have to understand the social science of clapping (lol)... you see, usually a few leaders of the event start the clapping, the people next to them hear it, and start clapping too, and so on. The leaders in this case were military standing at attention, you can't clap while at attention, so it never gets started, its pretty simple.

  • @benhoweblog nice

  • @benhoweblog you clap and cheer for movie stars and astronauts. When your commander and chief (as in your ultimate boss) walks in the room you shut the fuck up and do what you are told until otherwise.

  • @benhoweblog In the Marine Corps those Marines who film and take pictures are called Combat Camera... they are exempt to stand at the position of attention when "attention on deck" is called. I'm sure the Navy is the same way. While civilians generally call him the President, in the Marine Corps he is better known as the Commander in Chief which is in the chain of command and whether you like him or not you must render the proper respect. I don't think cheering is appropriate at this time.

  • ...At this time in terms of our country's status (worse economy than before and entering another war we can't afford especially after Obama campaigned to bring the troops home!). It's too hypocritical to cheer during times like this. What are they cheering for? Why? The military is suffering from the lack of progress too. There isn't anything to cheer about for this guy.

  • @benhoweblog this video is stupid. Just because an entire room of people didn't know whether or not to clap during a military ceremony acknowledging their commander and chief. Such a textbook soundbite video.

  • @kskusawa CO's have to stand at attention to a superior CO. Enlisted stand at parade rest when in presence of a CO.

  • @guitarhamster102 I see your using the word "superior" very very loosely.

  • @kskusawa you missed the point, and that being the the media's double standard, or mental lapse, or apathy; choose your unprofessional descriptor. If you didn't miss the point then the rest of us know where to get our wool.

  • being retired military i can say with all honesty that it would scare the bejesus out of me to go into battle with any military member who KNOWS this POTUS and still likes and respects him as president. Being a gung-ho military patriot and an Obama fan is impossible as the 2 are mutually exclusive.

  • @southpole1957 Orrahh! to that statement. Well said.

  • Can't blame them for not cheering. The Democrats are known for cutting budgets on the Military, which is exactly why those Navy Seals that were shot down a month ago were all on the same Bird. Most were Seal Team 6.

  • Why would the military like Obama or Bush at all? One sent them to the current shitholes without a way out, and no good reason to be there, and one is lying his ass off about getting them out of those said shitholes.

I understand it's in their legal duty not to go against the president, but nobody said they had to like the sons-of-bitches.

  • Compared with the spontaneous eruption of passionate cheering and applause by our armed forces for both Bushes and Reagan, I think it speaks for itself.

  • @blogbat Best statement on this issue so far but to be fair, you are comparing adults to a rookie kid whose biggest resume' builder is that he "reads well". hehehehe

  • @southpole1957 I'm sure our Dear Reader will do well on his post-presidency book tour in 2013. ;)

  • @blogbat BUAHHAHAHAHA.........you're probably right as there is still a huge market for fiction.

  • commander and chief. what a scary thing to have that man wannabe able to order anyone even a mcdonalds teenager for a large fry.

  • Funny, when a WH staffer prompted applause of Bush in 2005, it was all over the news. Could there be a double standard at play here?

  • The military has no respect for Obama!

  • Protocol. However, protocol is broken for certain Commanders in Chief who warrant the highest gratitude and respect. They were not "instructed" they were given permission. Still, not a resounding moment.

  • Yeah no surprises here. I know how it looks, but no matter where the military is, when the commander and chief enters when properly introduced, attention is what's mandated. Sometimes however, the surprise visit of the commander and chief such as president Bush in Iraq, would be an exception where there's a spontaneous outpouring of enthusiasm.

  • When the President enters, everyone is standing at attention. So until they are instructed that they can cheer or whatever, they must remain at attention. Thats just normal.

  • @labartic Wrong. You don't instruct people to cheer, you put them "at ease" at which time they can cheer if they feel so inclined. Just so you know, I'm not guessing on this matter, I'm a disabled Navy veteran and saw enough dignitaries to know "protocol." And we were never instructed to cheer, by the way. This situation was a high ranking political officer covering his ass since the troops were slow to ass kiss (halfhearted after as well) and he wants another star.

  • @hitcharide1

Small correction. No talking when at ease. OK when put at "rest".

  • @jthomasusa Close. That is only for formations. When put "at ease" in the group situation such as this it is OK to talk QUIETLY when no one else is speaking at the mic and/or applause etc. "Rest" is never given in the group situation. "At ease" can also be given as a command for silence in the group.

    Semper Fi !

  • @hitcharide1 You realize Mullens retiring pretty soon right? And if you know anything about what he and gates did for us with the body armor and the golden hour during OIF and OEF you'd realize it would NOT be fair to call him a political officer.
