Our Federal government has no constitutional authority to force people to buy health insurance. In addition, it has no constitutional authority to force people to violate their conscience by paying an insurance premium with an insurance company that is forced by the federal government to provide baby killing drugs. There is no "opt out"-either through your company's plan or government run health care, your premium goes toward a plan that covers baby killing drugs under the guise of "health".
its just like forcing people to buy car insurance. (yes, only people who drive cars have to buy it, because only they can get in car accidents. but everyone who is alive can have an accident or get sick, and should have to buy health insurance).
say someone w/o insurance falls off a bridge and is rushed to the emergency room and saved. he cannot pay for the care he just recieved. who pays for it???
health insurance prevents him from becoming a burden on others
@515shawn It was 3 hours long, and I only watched a little over an hour of it. I thought that this part here wrapped it up pretty well. One thing people must remember is that a court is not free to do just whatever it wants, it must follow binding precedent. As we know, settled law is settled law. But as for this case, it's not settled law....it will set a new precedent. Then after the Supreme Court rules on it, it it will be a binding precedent, one securing the peoples liberty.
The government is out of control. Time to reign them in. I can't believe they think that they have the power to make me buy a product that is disadvantageous to my own financial well being. Where does their power end?
@ExcellentAmerican if you can afford healthcare but choose not to buy it tax payers foot the bill so you can live another day.
debt is incurred because you couldnt cover the full cost of care you knew you wouldnt be denied. why? because others will just pay for it until you can pay paid the debt.
no insurance? losing your leg to diabetes you fat america bovine? cant afford it?
@nnndddnnnddd Nothing that you say is to the point. The point is that the federal government has no authority to mandate that I buy health insurance.
Fact, health care is way more expensive that it used to be. A long time ago people would get ill and then die a few weeks later at home with their family, but now they can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on you to keep you alive. So what can constitutionally be done about it? A payroll tax system like Germany has might be constitutional.
@ExcellentAmerican the Federal govt has failed to address inflation in health care itself where on cannot pay for medical services in cash. Unfortunately our govt has decided to go the scam route and some of the population think that is okay and don't take a closer look at how the medical industry can keep price gouging people that simply don't make enough to keep up with the higher costs. Entire in the health insurers and you are definitely not getting what you pay for.
