  • Srsly, never thought that telecaster can sound so heavy, this amp is full of win.

  • amazing sound!

  • what a great Sound, unbelievable, very nice Amp

  • The sound's not bad,but for 3k € I'd expect "something" more...again,it sounds good,but just nothing a masotti x100 or an engl invader can't do imho...

  • @taxo Sorry but I think this amp is miles away from Engl Invader and also from Masotti x100. More balls... More of it all... But I still prefer Herbert... Anyway great work Diezel \m/

  • Hey guys! You could do a video comparing the VH4 with Hagen?

I was thinking of ordering a VH4, but now i´m in doubt.

Can you please make a video comparing the same type of cab,the same guitar and same settings? (Yes, i know i´m asking to much, but, i think is the better way to solve this doubt .I´m not the only one who´s asking about the diference.)

  • @Fehetfield dude there at a music equipment festival there not going to do a demo like that for u

  • @dusted04 I know man, what i´m asking for is a demo for the site, recorded in Diezel´s factory or something like that. The Musikmesse already is over and i would never ask them to do there.

  • @Fehetfield From what I can gather, the Hagen will lend itself more to modern heavy tones that'd better suit down-tuned metal, esp' with Ch names like 'mega'. I could be wrong though. The VH4, although still a high-gain amp, might be a more appropriate choice if you want a more versatile spectrum of tones. Each of the diezel amps will be voiced differently and have different applications. The hagen seems to have less loop options than the VH4 & 'might' be cheaper. I'm only speculating though.

  • @Fehetfield Also, Peter Diezel made a name for himself modifying Marshalls before designing the VH4. The VH4 is Diezel's flagship amp with the most switching options & (arguably) largest spectrum of tones so I 'd be inclined to look at the VH4 as a hard-rock amp, the Herbert as a metal amp & the Hagen as a modern metal amp geared towards down-tuned metal. The VH4 is still pretty fierce of course. Definitely demo them before you buy and decide which of those voices will best suit your needs.

  • @Fehetfield Diezel's customer service is second-to-none aswell & you can find Peter on several guitar forums. Possibly the 'Rig'Talk' forum, or directly from the Diezel website?

Both Peters have responded to me personally within 24 hours to every question with really helpful & honest information. I'd almost guarantee they'll help you make the right choice if you tell them your needs. They'll even mod your Diezel for you! :)

    Hope that helps! :)

  • @voiceofreason79 Hey man!! Thank you so much!!! You realy helped me!! I always liked the VH4, and i want a more versatile amp, but i don´t like the hard-rock tones on drives, i like totally modern sound, with the mid closest to nothing. I think the perfect amp to me is an amp with a totally cleanest clean sound and a hi-ultra-gain drive with pure definition, with other two channels on the way of those two, doing the transition.

I will send a question to Peter, and see what he can do for me.

  • @Fehetfield No problem! :)

The VH4's Channel 4 is pretty compressed but doesn't lose definition. It can be used as a rhythm channel but I tend to use it for leads. If you tend to scoop your EQ, i'd say you'd be doing the VH4 an injustice because it really come into it's own in the midrange. It's unforgiving in that respect, but you quickly learn to appreciate it. Remember that you can also buy ancillary pedals to drive the front end & get some of those modern tones.

  • @voiceofreason79 Also, Ch 2 on the VH4 is an overlooked channel I think. I use Ch 2 a lot for recording when Ch3 & 4 are a little too much sometimes. It's 'kinda' a blues channel that pushes. If you're looking for just clean & drive channels & aren't too fussed about having a brown-sound channel, you might want to consider the einstein & save yourself some money.

Anyway. Hope you make the right choice. They're amazing amplifiers & you definitely won't regret your purchase! All the best! :)

  • @voiceofreason79 Thanks again! =D

  • oh man i just ordered a vh4 !!!

mabye should have waited a little

  • @dusted04

The VH4 is a very good amp. The VH4 works better with passive pickups IMO. I use SED"C" 6L6s in the VH4. The 6L6s loosen up the feel of the amp and give more clarity on the top end. But I prefer the Herbert with 4xEL34 and 2x6L6. You will like the VH4. It is an awesome amp when the right pickups are used.

  • @squirttilithurts i own an esp kh-2 and are looking at getting a gibson sg standard ebony !

    best of both worlds

  • @dusted04 your fine! VH4 is still one of the best amps in the world. I have it and I ordered a Hagen..

  • It definitely has a much richer definition.

  • Sounds awesome! How much is it?

  • Amazing amp ! it was a big fun to make my part of the clip ! up 5 min.

  • That amp was a thing of beauty. I had a ton of fun jamming with you guys - thanks for putting up with me! :)
