That Wonder Woman theme song was so funky from that first season! Especially the piano and low bottom notes of the horns and the ladies singing. I listened to it in Maryland last summer on a road trip from a mix CD of TV theme songs. The later seasons' themes failed to match this funky version!
Lynda Carter still to this day is a knockout. She looked awesome back when women wore costumes way less revealing than today. I like the disco graphics on the season 1 intro, but I can see why the lyrics to the song got shit-canned later
great! At least fot "old" people like me.. (34). kids must not understand this old fashioned presentation. how many memories! Wonder woman excited me when I was only 9 years old...
Wonder Woman derserves her own animated TV series, I would definitley watch it! Wonder Woman! "" All the world is waiting for you and the power you possess In your Satin tights fighting for yoir rights And the old red white and blue! Wonder Woman! "" Now the world is ready for you And the wonders you can do
can anyone honestly look back at this and see any redeeming qualities besides sentimental value? ....the crap we used to eat in the days of (3) network TV...
I honestly don't get how WONDER WOMAN can be part of the *trinity* that includes BATMAN and SUPERMAN, in the JUSTICE LEAGUE and yet...Batman and Superman get major films and she doesn't. She kicked both of their asses various times. Her comicbook is the most controversial and prolific of the three...and yet, she gets reduced to an idea for a movie, thrown around by BRIAN SINGER, who doesnt even know which way is up. So ridiculous.
Good point. I'd love to see Wonder Woman in her own movie or cartoon show. Regardless if she's on the Superfriends or Justice League Unlimited, I always wanted her to stand out from the rest, even Aquaman....yes AQUAMAN had his own cartoon AND movie. If Catwoman :P had her own movie, why not Wonder Woman?
Good point. If Superman and Batman had their own cartoons and movies, why not Wonder Woman? She's been featured on the Superfriends and Justice League, but not her own show or movie. If Aquaman had his own cartoon AND movie, why not give Wonder Woman her time to shine?!
Wonder Woman is the most famous of all female superheroes. But casting her (with someone as beautiful as Lynda Carter) as well as writing a credible script is difficult. Her comics origin, the reasons for leaving Paradise island in particular, has been quite vague and rebooted several times. She's proven to be more iconic than Superman or Batman in terms of translating from comics to TV to movies.
Its really good isn't it?? I never realised 25 years ago!! I really wanted to be WonderWoman and spent a lot of time spinning round in the hope I would turn into her!
For the movie version. My pick would be "Charlize Theron" as Wonder Woman. (Remember: Aeon Flux) And if; they did decide to bring back Wonder Girl, (Remember - Debra Winger) my pick would be a young "Megan Fox".
extremely memorable song and such an anthem!!! I am glad this show was a part of my childhood. I feel sorry for the kids today; they have nothing truly iconic like this
I still try to date a lot of women that remind me of linda carter. My god she was beautiful. Set the standards high for a boy growing up thinking about what a woman should look like...

I'm gonna be honest about this.. I think Wonder women and Linda Carter had such a influence in many young gay boys.. I'm including myself I remember when I was 6 years old, I wanted to be wonder women.. I knew I was gay and I was proud even at such small age. Love Wonder women.
I'm sorry, gang, but there's seriously something I've always loved about this song. Yeah, I sure agree the guy singing sounds some kinda flakey, but that's what's cool about it -- he makes it work for the time period. And it just seems crappy cool to me, especially with all the background lasso swinging and jumping sounds that go on. They add to let you know you cannot take the show too seriously. Of course, Lynda Carter's looks always helped the song sound better too.
Yep. That's when they didn't have to compete too much for time with comercials. Back then there were less than ten minutes worth of commericals for hour dramas.
i may sound like a freak, whatever, my name's ratedtriplex, but lynda carter is officially the 1st GILF. i rented some lame vampire movie with her and casper van diem in it and she still looked good
There was only one reason for I watched this...Lynda Carter. She was definately one of the hottest women on TV in the late '70s. I think she made a man out of me, indirectly of course. Oh, and the theme song was pretty cool too!
All I remember about this show was how HOT Lynda Carter was/is. As a comic fan, WW never really did anything for me, but you have to admit, of all the superheros, she had the absolute WORST theme song! ;)

Umm,,,,,,,,,wonder woman is an Irish-American woman so any new wonder woman needs to be an Irish-American. Why not have a wonder granny and bring Linda out of retirement?! Equal opportunities and all that.
Reiko Aylesworth of "24" would be a perfect Wonder Woman. Her character Michelle Dessler was killed off at the start of day 5. So come on producers, she's the next WW!
Wonder Woman and her lasso of truth! /invisible jet! my friend was a big fan of Wonder Woman even dressed like her. I remember the comic illustration where her mother told her that she had to leave her home and never return again the most.
If Lynda Carter makes a fine Wonder Woman, then I think Angelina Jolie; Jennifer Gardner or Mischa Barton should be excellent Wonder Women. By the way, Lynda Carter has nice sexy legs.

If Wonder Woman was real, I'd SO be living a life of crime right now! "Hey Wonder Woman--I just robbed a bank! Better get me in a scissors-lock before I escape! PLEASE!?!"
nandotravieso: Why aren't there female super heroes anymore? It's politically incorrect for women to be running around like this now (sex-object, yadda, yadda), however for Superman, Spiderman and the rest, skin-tight spandex is just fine.

Aged well? Yer joking.. She IS an amazon princess.. the woman does not age! (mind you, getting out of hollywood probably had a lot to do with it.. what was it? banking?)

you seem like you'd be happy to hear that based on how well the justice league movie turns out Hollywood producers are expecting a wonder woman.
By the way, factualy speaking, Superman and Batman came first and have sold more than wonder woman.
But you're right though, she deserves more than a chance.

LOL that gave me a very well needed laugh Loopy. Wonder Woman in the comics was made from clay and thus does not age. So thank you again for a laugh.
