I like both bands the same, I don't know how people can compare them cause theyre so different. Sparta's balls to the wall alt rock or whatever you wanna call it posthardcore, with good songwriting. The Mars Volta's innovative, spontaneous, experimental, multi-dimensional, improvisantional balls to the wall progressive rock. Bottom line is At the Drive In was the shit. Period. Balls to the wall!

sparta is on hiatus i guess you could say while jim tours with sleepercar and does his thing with that band. im hoping sparta comes back soon, im missing them.
