I play this game a lot. But I've encountered a problem. I recently added a NewGRF which disabled a default GRF set and hence I can no longer play any trains (unless I have this shitty one, which I don't like, enabled.) I have no idea how to resolve this, and I'm not one for asking forum communities; they scare me.

I liked the game for the period of time and I have to admit that OTTD is a better version of the original. Still I prefer Locomotion. When you downloaded extra stuff for Locomotion its a nice game, also I hated the diagnal turnes in Transport Tycoon...It doesn't look realistic at all...Also if Locomotion had graphics for stationbuildigs used in OTTD it was much better.

Best thing to do is create a game wich has the best from both games...But until that game appears I keep on playing Locomotion.

tip if you want a traine to faster unload make sure you have the whole traine in the station and not half or 1 out. if you got the whole train in the station in will unload mutch faster if you build an even bigger station then it will unload even faster. 5 long is the averich 1station can hold 2 strain cars. whit a station 5 long it is capeble of holding 10 train cars.

If you'd added some point to watch this it would be better. For example you could pick a city on one side of the map and then the other on the other side of the map and record an imaginary passenger getting through all the trains, buses, airplanes and boats moving throughout the map and show us how he arrives at his destination (After I've filled the map with vehicles I was always curious if I could get to every city from any city on the map in the end).

The megarail file can be downloaded from Openttd forums search for a thread titled megarail and you'll find it. But if your using openttd version 0.7 it will have AI problems. Hope this helps

The AI are retarded, they build a train station at each end of their journey, and then proceed to attempt to build a track, going for a way too complicated method and often building those stupid crossover points right in your way.

Here's how to overcome it:

1: buy them out if it's late on,but first take out a 150000 loan as you'll get one as soon as you buy 25%.

2: buy the land in front of their track, they'll not be able to think and build around it,you can also destroy roads and buy the land

Urgh, I hate buses. (And trucks.) Fortunately, my trains go straight through rivals' road vehicles, like a hot knife through butter.

Trams are a cool alternative to buses, in NewGRF.

Yeah its pretty darn good but the AI is omfg so stupid lol, they always run up massive debt and then waste all the money on frivilous things. Buying shares in companies is still really simplistic and there is nothing to stop you from buying them out completely on the day they start. Pretty silly really.

That aspect of the game needs some serious improvement.

You need a train depot to buy trains. Every type of vehicle has its own type of depot.

George's LVs are broken on openttd, you have to use ttd patch for them
