  • Hi BlackSabFan!

how can I find this and other demos from that period? Ive got "Phil Lynott the man and his music vol.I-VII" ... and complete Lizzy discography + Grand Slam, but this extra demo stuff I haven`t got... so if there is anyhow somewhere on the net - please tell me!

  • @Dzhasmin

I've uploaded them and put downloadable links in my blog, which is linked to my YouTube channel page. I posted them awhile back though so you might have to backtrack through the blog to find the links.

  • RIP Phil, your songs are still being played on the radio. 5*****'s for the post

  • Indeed. I mean Phil was heartbroken cos of Geldof`s diss. Maby he would have been the best one on Live Aid.

We will never know, but he was defently not done, when he died he was still creating better music than most of the bands who played their. Lynott and Gorham where speaking about reform Lizzy. Well Lynott is gone forever but we still have his music. Rest in peace Phil.

    One of the best ever!!

  • well, wasn't he touring with Grand Slam the very same year? he could still rock anybody else's arse. his shape was not OK by his lofty standards set in mid and late 70s, but he was in a league of his own at any given time of his life.

  • I´ve been reeding loads of Phil Lynott`s life and career, indeed he was in bad shape by that point, but if Geldof the guy he spend lots of time together with had invited Phil im sure he would have get him self together and made the best show there, look guys i dont know what you know about Phil and his life but plans where that they should reform Lizzy again.

Phil`s solo never sold well i know. But he was still one of the best at the time when he past away. This song is a demo and says it all!!

  • regarding live aid.............by that stage it was known that phil was in a desperate situation. he was being 'avoided' by alot of people. he never would have been in decent enough shape to perform. the organisers of live aid knew this. they decided that he was not worth the risk.

anyway, by then lizzy had finished 2 years and phils solo stuff was'nt really selling..

  • If that really is true how come thw same didn't apply to Ozzy & Black Sabbath?

  • Phill is gone 24 yers today. Gone but never forgotton

  • Well Phil was the man, my biggest hero!!

He had sex with Geldofs wife, but who did not, Terence Trent Darby, Hutchence and lots of others, He was only to naive to realise that his little princess never was a one man woman, to not let Phil or Lizzy come to the Aid is ridiculous. Geldof is defenetly not a saint he is a hypocrites, or satan as Hutchence mom refer to him.

And i also ask why not at the times most interesting band not where there? Big Country, Geldof claimed he tought the split ut?

  • This song is great, Im a big fan of Phils art, or supporter as he would have called it, the thing with live aid is that Phil fucked Paula Yates, the little man Robert Geldof could never get Phil in another way then not invite him to the aid, I mean look what Hutchence did with his little princess wife, or Terence Trent Darby, Paula was not a one man kind of girl and Geldof was to naive to see that, look he got kind of probs with his daughters, And a saint is the last thing that mega prick is!!!

  • Yea, I agree with the last comments! Phil should have been part of Live Aid. Find it almost hard to belive that Geldof left him out! I think Phil would have made a huge impact on the whole thing! Geldof: I´ll never forgive you for that one!!!

Thank´s again Sabfan for all those gems you keep posting! Keep it up man!

  • haha i totally agree with that last comment. i bet he thought someone as amazingly cool as Phil would completely steal the show from him altogether. Easily. Dedication would have been another good one

  • To leave Phil out of LiveAid... Whereas 90% of performes who played at it had never even heard a song with a social commentary in their lives... Geldof is a mega prick in my eyes.

  • Hmm .. Phil I miss you pal ..

Why isn't all these unreleased songs out?

  • That would be the best and greatest Song for

Live Aid 85!!!! Shame over Bob Geldof about

  • i REMEMBER HEARING HE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL CHRISTMAS 85, THE RADIO ANNOUNCED HERE IN NY. THEY ONLY PLAY 2 SONGS THO, SO SAD. PHIL WAS A GENIUS WRITER, SINGER AND PLAYER, VERY MISSED HERE. THANK YOU BLACK SABBATH FAN FOR ALL THE RARE MUSIC YOU POST.

  • well same good old thing must be said about phil lynott. Its a shame a producer did not get their hands on this track to remaster it for the troops fighting terrorism. I believe it could be done as a dedication to promote phils legacy and morale for this negative world

  • This is a true Lynott classic, thumbs up for Mr. Blacksabfan, thanx for sharing that mate. I think Scott and Brian could rerecord this and release it as they did with Dedication. I would love to see something like that happening.

  • Even when he was near death from his years of hard living, Phil Lynott played and sang with a voice that is rivaled by few. He did it with raw conviction. Even the people he was around played great. I mean to say this, Stephen Johnson is a hell of a guitarist, just great. Just the fact that he brought in his ability and knew what Thin Lizzy was all about, this could of been a Thin Lizzy song if they were reunited. This Legend is a inspiration to PURE HARD ROCK AND HEAVY METAL. BLACK ROSE!!

  • FUCKING AWESOME!Waited years to hear this song after hearing about it along time ago!Blacksabfan your are a legend for all your posts....Keep em coming!

Your memeory lives on Phil God Bless Ya...

  • phils a leo...anyone guess?? haha, long lives leos and long live philip parris lynott. god bless you philo!

  • Cool Song - I never heard this one before. Thanks again for posting this gem!

Aside this it is obvious that Steve Johnson is a brilliant! musician and an outstanding! guitarplayer with marvelous technique (also undeniable concerning the guitar work and solo runs of the other track you posted before). I never heard of this guy before. Where is he now?

  • I can't thank you enough for posting the stuff that you have. I know you've had a lot of flack because of it.

I hope you realise the great joy you have brought to us all. Thank you for sharing.

Phils birthday and I'm not drinking...something is wrong!!!

I'll make up for it soon.

  • You're welcome.

And I do know it brings people joy, and that's why I keep doing it, despite all the BS from a few jerks. Life's too short for people like them anyway.

  • philip parris lynott would be 58 today not 59.. important that we try and get simple facts right. ok? been Phil Lynott's 59th birthday. Drink a few for him...ok? I will be later this evening. Enjoy! ... Phil Lynott Steve ... One of the last recordings Phil Lynott made was a rough demo of the track "Revolution (People Get Ready)". As with "No More", Steve Johnson plays the guitars on this.

  • August 20, 1949 - August 20, 2008. That's 59...important you know how to count, ok?

  • Sorry your right but i thaught he was 36 when he died so i thaught he was 58 this year.

anyway my mistake... what a brilliant person he was... i wonder sometimes what he would be like now.

he might not have the get up and go he had before but we will never know. Slainte Kevin...

  • He was 36 when he died, but he died January 4, 1986. He would of turned 37 in August 1986He just hadn't made it to his birthday for that year yet. Like I'm 23, and I was born in December 1984, and if you look at the years by themselves, you might think im 24 (1984-2008), but not yet.

Anyway, apology accepted. You really should be careful though how you come across sometimes.

  • i am careful but i dont think about age especially when i had so meny different people who died before they had time to live but anyway your right and i was wrong..

i try to be as right as possible but sadly its impossble all the time.

yes i was right that he was 36 anyway and that i am glad i was right about.

thin lizzy forever... any irish out there... Slainte Kevin...
