Faith in nature shampoo is awesome. I love it. My hair used to fall out in bunches.. n now thank god its stopped since I switched to this. I just used it. So far, I'm not very excited about it. I guess I'm just not used to it, yet. Washing, my hair felt stringy and dry. Once dried, it was frizzier than it normally is after I wash it and it air dries. I am trying to strengthen and lengthen my hair, so I guess I'll give it another shot. Any more pointers you can give? Have you tried Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioner? I haven't and was wondering if I should get Burt's Bees or Main 'n Tail. I cut my hair into a chin length or a little longer bob in 2009 and now it's a little past my shoulders. I feel like it is growing really slowly. I'm trying to grow it longer. I used the Burt's Bees Shampoo/Grapefruit variety for the 1st time 3/16/2011 and I really loved it. I was using Wen ( been using Wen for 3 years). Like Wen, Burts' Bees Shampoos have no sulfates. I found this video and that prompted me to go to Target and purchase a bottle of cond/shampoo. Used it 1 time and I was delighted at the results. I am black and my hair has been growing steadily since I stopped using harsh chemicals in my hair. I stopped using hair products w/ laurel sulfates.

@solidxfaith it could be that you are used to the sulftes in other shampoos which cause the soft lather found in most shampoos. most organic shampoos dont have those harsh detergents in them so they dont have that same lather feeling. perhaps that is why you found the shampoo to feel a bit weird.

The first couple of times I tried this stuff it made my hair tangled and really hard to manage but I realized that was only because it had stripped my hair of all the chemicals that were in my old shampoo/conditioners. After a few more uses my hair started to feel and look really soft and healthy. I also had the same problem as you with hair falling out during brushing and since I started using this stuff I've noticed A LOT less hair in my hairbrush. Love it!

@solidxfaith i am having this experience, too. im using the raspberry moisturizing one and it feels so awful when im using the shampoo, like it's stripping my hair or like it's one of those clarifying shampoos. im really trying to get away from the chemical laden shampoos so perhaps im just really used them. but yes, im having trouble using this BB shampoo often because it makes my hair feel really tangled when im washing it. i want to stick it out and see if i get used to it though.

After I saw this video, I opened my shower door and found sulfate in every single shampoo!! All this time I thought these products were good for my hair! Man was I wrong. I bought Burt's Bee's Volumizing shampoo and conditioner and so far, my ends are a lot smoother and it smells FANTASTIC! Haven't seen much improvement with hair growth! But I'll give it some time. I love Burt's Bees!!! I have a psoriasis on my scalp... Its nothing major but it is annoying... regular shampoos KIll me!!! the basically will make it so bad that my scalp will crack and bleed (probly TMI) But I switch to this stuff a year or to ago and it almost made it go away!!!!! if you quit sulfates you should quit silicones because they can build up and they NEED to be washed out with sulfates. silicones end in -cone, -xane, or -conol i think

The soap we buy contain cocoate, which is derived from coconuts. The scientist make up all of these names. May of them can be found in nature. I am going to try castile soap. It contains vegetable/olive oils and lye (saponification). Dr. Bonner's make a liquid castile soap as well as bars.
