  • Nice cage

    Gay setup

  • 200x80x100cm will that do good for a full grown tegu?

  • how come you didnt show ur tegu and nice vid gave me alot on new ideas

  • you toe nailed the screw mate

  • hi, what are the light fixtures hooked into the cage called (brand)? I'm building my tegu a cage and am trying to find a good light fixture to use in the cage.

  • best thing to do is seal the plywood then title it

  • @twistedpixe Yeah thats a really good idea too. I was thinking of doing that as well but the melamine finish worked nicely. Definitely not a bad idea though.

  • at times you sound like doug stanhope. hilarious.

  • with ply you might be able to protect it with some non toxic stuff like what they use for kids toys or something, great vid, thinking about getting a tegu myself, depends if i have the room though cos they need BIG enclosures xD

  • @alyman01 Really? I had no idea :P

  • Sweet cage. How much did it all cost

  • lmao love the way i you say i hope he aint built any burrow the substrate isnt deep enough for a burrow lmao my tegus have 18inchs of cyprus mulch and even then there burrows arent that big

  • Pause at 0:00

    Hold the left arrow

    Press the up arrow

You are now playing snake - try it!

    Thumbs up if it works!!!

  • @monkeymike97 holy fuck that is awesome!!!

  • @monkeymike97 tried it, only did it once though

  • other than the frame not lining up perfectly i think it came out nice. i wouldn't have used particle board just because its so heavy and disintegrates when wet but you sealed it up well and hopefully you will not have to move it lol.

  • Rather than using an ordinary staple gun on the fake plants i have found the best to use on them is an engineers staple gun. They operate in exactly the same waybut are designed to go around cables. Aim for a six or 8core gun and it will go around most fake plants perfectly, witha u shape rather than the standard staple design. Wrote you out lots of tips below butthen youtube didnt allow me so many characters so ill mail you them. Enjoy.

  • whats your gamertag lol?

  • @THEFISHPERSON101 Woops. I messed that up! lol. Yeah, I had to sell that xbox :( I need to get a new one lol.

  • it was perfect until you had said tv. Why put the tv there? Yes they don't have very good ears, but that sound is still loud tothem, imagine being trappedin a room and some one has a radio on speaking god knows what for hours at a time. If you don't use the tvthats fine but if you use it often then I hope by now you took itdown man. Great cage set up by theway

  • @shukaku Thanks for your opinion.

  • is melamine more expensive or is it relativily cheap??

  • @fishandchips8956 Ehhh... it... idk I was actually kind of surprised by it, it was a little more expensive than plywood. but not by much. 100% worth the extra money. It wasn't outrageously expensive. I wouldn't build anything of this sort with anything else.

  • do they seel melamine in thiner shets ?

  • @tokay999 Hmmmm. I'm not too sure to be honest, I haven't seen it any thinner.

  • don't know too much about tegu's but you should have a soak for him. i see that alot of people have them. but really nice cage. Seems pretty complicated. I literally just got done like 30 minutes ago building a big cage for my water dragon, i'll have a video up maybe tonight...

  • oh im planning on coating it real well im using this method for a whole rack!

  • u havnt had problems with mold? cuz im planning on using that wood to make a rack!

  • @goodoldifaz The water doesnt hit the wood, thats what the hard plastic coating is for :) just seal it really well

  • is it big enough for 2

  • @LeopardGeckoBreeder1

Hmmm... Thats a really good question. If it was a male and female I would say yes or two females would be ok I think, as long as they're introduced when they're around the same age, the younger you can get them together at the better.

  • @SeismicReptile Yes, yes it is.

  • I think you did a great job with the fake plants on the wall. Looks a lot better than the plain white wall. :)

  • Thanks haha, that definitely wasn't an easy task, I was doing it while he was in there with all his substrate and what not and it made it surprisingly difficult.

  • How much did it cost to build this?

  • It cost me around 250-300$ Canadian to build this taking into account: wood, screws, silicon, bulbs, light fixtures, wire screen for the door. Pretty much that figure includes everything other than the substrate, decorations and the lizard itself.

  • How much was the tegu?

  • 375$ + Shipping fees. came to around 450$ total

  • i have a colombian so i dont have the feeding dish inside because it can cause them to be cage aggressive, but awsome video man, your cage is basicly the same as mine minus a few small things.

  • amazingly informative. really helps, i now know how im going to build my enclosure for a tegu that im saving up for, thank you.

  • Cool cage man.

  • really nice set-up, I would like to make something almost identical, but I think I would invest in some formica to help preserve the wood. Awesome video though, and great setup!!

  • Thank you.

  • Wow thanks for the videos. I am currently planning my 8x4 melamine cage for my black and white tegu. Your video really helped alot. taught me some things to do and not to do lol...sorry if that offended u lol

  • Glad to have helped :)

  • why havent you made a video in a while?

  • School started for me in september and it's kept me really busy. I'm trying to decide what to do my next one on. probably on my bearded dragon, he's... special... lol I'll try get something up on the weekend. I've got a nice break from homework and what not coming up.

  • hwo much did the wood cost

  • ~250$ canadian

  • so about $150 us currency?

  • Very informational thanks gave me tons of ideas for my custom savanah cage, I subed to your vids.

  • Aquarium silicon. You should be able to find it at most local hardware stores, isn't too expensive should be like 5-10$ for a tube. You gotta make sure to get the Aquarium Silicon specifically, or another type of non-toxic silicon. You definitely don't want to have it all setup nice and then have it kill your pet.

  • Cool enclosure 5* btw whats your xbox live GT? Mine is OoPR3MOoO no zeros add me

  • No dice dude. Had to sell my xbox :(

  • i might get a tegu in a few months after researching but do i turn the uva/uvb bulb and the basking light OFF and the night bulb ON because i cant find out what you do please reply

  • Whell what I have 3 lights, UVB, UVA+heat and heat. I have the UVB / UVA+heat in one power bar and the strictly heat lamp in another. day time comes around flick the UVB / UVA+heat lamps on the one power bar on night time flick them off and the 1 light thats just heat stays consistently on

  • cool le terrarium ... il est grand ! c'est bon pour les tegu ...

    super !

    steph

ps: vient voir ma page avec mon terrarium géant pour Maya ma grosse de 2kg200 !

    steph

  • I'm sorry, I really dont understand spanish / french all that well. I'm guessing... something about a terrarium and a maya?

  • he saying cool terrarium! its good ...something sbout a tegu

p.s something about the maya terrium package

  • nice thats definatly gonna be my sav and beardie'ss perminet home

    i gotta make two!!!!!!!!

  • Wouldn't necessarily need to make two. you could make a larger one (bottom) for your sav and then a smaller one above it for your beardie. similar to how i have mine with my tank above it only instead of a tank make a den for your beardie maybe? :)

  • oh nice ::D

  • how much did it all cost together

  • The enclosure i put aside 300$ for, only ended up spending around 200, tegu was tough for me to get my hands on, ran me about 400$ because i had to get it flown in. and substrate (totally screwed up on in the first place) dumped about 350$ on. i bought a bunch of peat moss / sphagnum moss and that was just gross smelling, turned my room into a barn. switched it out for bark mulch and more or less wasted the 100$ i spent on the moss. get your substrate picked right before you buy (canadian $ btw)

  • can you gaive me a list of what you need to do one box like yours?

PS : and how to make it xD (im not realy good with making things)

    thanks

  • Do you mean like, a complete list of all parts pieces and measurements? or do you mean like roughly what i used or...?

  • like a complete if you can or just what you use

  • Comment removed

  • im trying to do a bigger tank/enclosure for my snake so that why i need help

  • And you want one of this size? what kind of snake is it? (not trying to talk you out of it or anything im all for it, just would like to have an idea of whats needed.)

  • i got a Kingsnake and i was hoping to give him a bigger place for her (they can be 6 Feet long)

  • Ok well, im pretty busy this week but ill try make you a video thats a little more on the construction side of things.

out of curiosity, whats he in now?

  • in a exo terra 23 inch long/17 inch large/22 inch height yeah its enough right now but later it will be a little small for her

  • you old need a 40 - 50 gallon tank for a king they can be 6 foot long but there about 4.5 - 5 foot you dont need a tank half the size of this you can make one but i would get more snakes (if you can have a group in a tank sorry i dont have snakes)

  • I'm planning to get a ball python and i'll probably just put him in a 55gallon or a 75gallon. I know its more than what they need but i'd like it to have a nice setup. I want to spend the extra cash on getting it a really really nice setup.

  • Agreed. Shame you got UVB coils instead of the good long strips. Nice job though. I like that you got your plants from craft stores. Best way to do it! Do you also get your bedding from garden stores and not pet shops?

  • Well, unfortunately there weren't any garden stores here that had lots of mulch that was in good condition and by good condition i mean the only place i found had fir bark piled pretty high outside and you could get as much as you wanted, but thats no good because its been sitting outside and is probably soaked with lots of parasites / home to many little insects and stuff like that. however i did find a guy who could get me orchid bark cheap so look around for sure.

  • Good Job

  • Thanks :)
