Sammy boy I loved and miss you more than you know. You glow with talent and bring joy energy and lovo love with yourf boundless talent. Give my love to your beautiful wife and have a laugh at the roof rats in fla, Also love to Eddie whenever you connect with him. Love Lucie in Hawaii'
See...now I'd call that a Gibson shaped mandolin. lol But, I see your point. Being a mandolin picker, I associate "f style" mandolins with Gibson even though there are so many great makers now.
Yes-Fender solid body. Sometimes called the MandoBlaster.They made them from about 1956 to 1964. Only two mandolin players should have ever been allowed to play them--Sam Bush and Jethro Burns. Early New Grass Revival records have some great stuff Sam played on them. Sam's part on Butch Robins' "12 o'clock eh Sonny" on the Fragments Of My Imagicnation" album is an all-time great Fender mandolin solo.
Intresting. I love how Gibson is seen in death metal bands and this stuff too. I love the varaity. A Les paul goes well with EVERYTHING. Country, rock, blues, jazz, solo, metal, death metal, punk, pop. Plus it looks so professional. Go gibson!!!
Hey so does fender. John 5(Shred), Jimi Hendrix (Rock/Blues), Stevie Ray (Blues), Yngwie Malmsteen (Neo Classical), Dave Mustaine plays Jackson guitars by fender (Metal), Joe Strummer (Punk Rock). Fender varies too man.
yeah but fender sucks. no offense, just comparing to Gibson quality wise there is no competition. If you go to an experienced group with your shiny red strat, they would think "teenage phase" come in with a Gibson they think "hm this might be good." Thats just my opinion though. Generally the less experienced go for looks like BC riches.

sam seems to play his mandolin kinda low on his body then most others?

@CGiordano464
Yeah, he has a truly unique style. Most players hold it high on their chest. Sam also has the cleanest "chop" of any mando player on the planet.
