I am fortunate enough to see a take-off and landing everydy on my commute home (viewed from the 405 Fwy traffic in Carson, CA). Unfortunately I found out it is as hard to go for a ride as it is to hitch a ride to the Space Station.

If I am not mistaken in my memory, there are only 4 Goodyear Blimps. I had the opportunity to ride in the one stationed out of Miami when it was in Baltimore Maryland. The one in Miami is called "Stars and Stripes"

This is a great video. I'd suggest some clipping though; it isn't necessary to hear your children chattering for 8 minutes before the blimp moves at all, or to see you drop the camera at the end.

I took a ride in Spirit of America in LA yesterday, we flew over the port of Long Beach and San Pedro, The pilot is my grandma's cousin so he let me fly it for 5 minutes over LA harbor.

Technically, They're called "Non-Rigid Airships", which means that there isn't a internal framework inside the envelope unlike the larger rigid airships of the past such as the Graf Zeppelin and the Hindenburg. "Blimp" is the common name for most of today's airships. Most people don't say "Oh look, it's the Goodyear airship" They see it as the Goodyear BLIMP. I took this into mind when I called the video what I did.

I love the Good Year blimp! It used to fly over our house when I was a kid and at night it had lighted ads on the side. I don't see it much anymore. I miss it.

How loud is the take off in person?

Take off is actually just a bit louder, but not enough to drown out conversation. Loudest is when ship actually lifts off, at about the 8 min 45 sec mark.
