Thanks for uploading this :)! Our band will be playing at our annual concert next year, and this helps me study the music :)! I'm the only horn, so I have to do it right :)!
A decent arrangement, although the one we played last year (total hell, by the way) was the full score.
It went: First Half of Phantom, then Think of Me, Angel of Music, Second Half of Phantom, Music of the Night, All I Ask of You (with reprise), Prima Donna, Masquerade, Why So Silent, No One Would Listen, Point of No Return, Down Once More, and finally Phantom of the Opera again, with a dramatic cut short ending, with the chromatic scale going up and then stopping on the 4th note up.
hm-mm!! ^^ hard to find this song. i mean to download. Our band was practising this song for the concert next year. my coach said there are many type of this song. but this type is the best! ^^ i like the feel that tokyo kosei had. thanks for uploading. ^^
were playing this in our spring concert which is in 3 days cuz today is sunday and we do it on wednesday and we start off with phantom of the opera then all i ask for u then think of me and music of the night
Wonderful selection and wonderful job. We played this in H.S. in 2002, brings back memories. The only thing I don't like is the trap set during the phantom of the opera piece. During practice we'd always mess around and play it like that, but during the concert it sounds much cleaner with timpani, cymbals, and other instruments. The rock beat just pulls it too far into a rock song.
Its really good once you get through it all. Our band had four days to learn it (along with 6 other pieces), and it was the best performance I have ever heard. We also played the main theme from this in the Royal Albert Hall, and we connected the drums to an amp of some sort. When the drums were hit (on the second repeat), it made the whole hall shake, and we got a standing ovation!
im loving this video:D we did something like this at our last year concert but ours was backwards:D
lol yup started with teh theme and ended with music of the night! hmm we did not play masquerade though:( i like that song anywho i love your wind section :D clarinetsrok along with flutes:D
where are the bells at the 6:55 mark.. that part just totally stands out... xylophone could have stood out a lot more in masqurade... i just got back yesterday i saw this on broadway it was amazing
Thank for posting this video! This bring back so much of my forgotten memories 10 yrs ago! We used to play this song in high school brassband as well and I played the piccolo. Gosh, missed those school days!
omg lmao =D it's beautifull love it best orchestra version i've ever heard =D oke, the musical was better but those childrens here are teenagers =D so wow verry nice
i LOVE this song. we played this for our Spring Concert and yeah, people were talking when we first started playing. but then at like, middle of it, after a grand pause, EVERYONE was shut up and they were listening. :DDDDD
*sigh* God that was beautiful! I've been a phan for oh so long! And that was very beatiful. It was almost as good as the orchestra in Vegas. (ALW said they performed the scores best)
Our band played this last year too, and I must say this is quite well-played. I like the balance in some parts, since even the professional recording sounds unbalanced at times. Good job.

I think this isn't "Selections from Phantom of the Opera", but actually the "Entr'acte" of it. Get the CD, listen to it. I may be wrong though.
CoolMapleStore 2 years ago 2
Did you even listen to all 14 minutes of this? I don't think the Entr'acte alone is that long.
deathstix 2 years ago
I only did AFTER I commented. After that, I was too lazy to comment again, and thought it didn't matter anyway. My bad.
CoolMapleStore 2 years ago
@deathstix he may be reffering to the Calvin Custer arrangement version, that I myself was expecting to hear here.
