1. Loop the yarn over the needle to the front of the work and then knit the rest of the stitches.
2. On the next row, work into the front loop of this strand (yarn over) as you would any other stitch, transferring it from the left needle after it is knitted.
You have added one stitch.
This will take care of the hole from the yarn over
This is really good and easy to follow. In this book it says something about a knit way of increasing stitches which is different to this. What could that be?
I like your videos. Perhaps you could mention somewhere on this video that the 'yarn over' increase method creates a hole in the fabric, which might or might not be wanted.
Your videos are amazing. I have watched them over and over again to learn how to knit! You have a real knack for teaching in a simplified and easy manner. Thank you! If possible, can you show how to decrease stitches?
Haha, that's okay. There's a lot to cover with knitting. I really appreciate you taking the time out to post these videos. I can't wait! (Oh, and did I mention I love your background music? haha)
*LOL* I get everything from "love it" to "it's the worst music ever", but hey it beats hearing my monotone voice. Eventually I'll upgrade my music collection for more variety :) But, for the most part my belief is that it should be easy enough to learn this without words, although I do use some captions.
Aaaaah, I get it. Seems pretty simple, really! I crochet and have been interested in learning to knit, but it seems so complicated in books. I'm so glad I can finally learn! Thank you so much for these clear and easy-to-follow videos.
can you do a video tutorial to make a knitted headband? =)

Great video! :D And I agree with the bamboo. I think they get smoother the more you use them.

Ooooh, what kind of knitting needles are the ones she is using in the videos? They look very smooth.
Marlena12008 3 years ago
They're bamboo. They cost a few dollars more but I find they're more comfortable to use.

Where can I buy some?
Marlena12008 2 years ago
maybe you should mention that there will be a hole in your garment every place where you increased a stitch. That would have been helpful.

Yes there are several different ways. I'll add some other ways to my list of videos to-do so you can see them!

To decrease stitches you just knit two together.
