I remember first playing Aion...it was pretty hax...still is...but I wasn't any good,cause the servers I played(Privates) most of the people only spoke spanish,but I think I just found one that has a pretty good english base*Downloading as we speak*

i play WoW now.. i started with aion.. thought it was awesome!! was in the beta.. got to level 35.. and then.. the abyss WITH QUESTS IN IT!! FFS i got ganked from all sides!! 2 much pvp and i stopped playing aion since then... its a shame.. i would have stopped playing wow and had went on with aion.. but the abyss sucks soooo much..

@marleen2000 They actually updated Aion, so now they have guards that will protect you from the other faction if they try to attack you while your leveling or questing, this game is very new as u probably already know, theres still room for a lot of improvement.

While MrTirien may be getting a little cocky by saying that Aion IS the best MMO out there, I'm sure it has a very big and bright future, and may easily surpass WoW in it's glory. I'm not saying Aion is the best game out there, but I've played WoW, and it is really boring at endgame...At least, that's my opinion.

WTF?? You should get a good guild that way you won't get ganked, I LOVE Aion I'm only lvl 20, but I loved leveling 1-20. I have played WoW for 4 and a half years. and a lot of F2P's, but I have to say Aion rocksss.

The fortress siege is a crap.... all guys attacking a door... I wanted to play this game, but is the same boring fight to be one of the best on the server... Go to the Gim, make a name for your self not in the front of the computer....

am using 9800GT, still need to lower the spec during the siege(i run max setting all the time) , I have no idea how well the sys that the koreans have, but the requirements are somewhat too caustic.

Yeah i guess because it gets so crowded, i don't really consider that fort stuff to be the sort of PvP i play for anyways, i do more small scale team based and 1v1s, thats more what i was worried about.

crysis actually uses cryengine 2 o.O

aion uses a modified version of cryengine 1 (2004 xD )

Aion uses the CryEngine 1 game engine, which is the same engine used in the original far cry game. SWTOR uses the hero engine I believe, so it is technically a newer engine. Personally I think both engine's look good, but the Hero engine, being newer, may have more advanced technologies than a modified CryEngine.

The only similarity they, they are both mmo. But comparing mmo's doesnt work, it's like comparing fable with fallout 3, or oblivion with diablo2 because they are rpgs and based upon similar rules as D&D. Aion and wow are fantasy, but the core gameplay is rather different since aion delivers a deeper set of skill use etc. WoW is based on warcraft, aion is a based on a totally different lore. The games have nothing in common. Plus wow has taken every element from other game they liked

It's because of this game, that I actually took action into building a computer that can handle this bad boy at max settings. Right now I play WoW on my laptop. And, it gets the job done. But, I play at the lowest possible settings to get a decent FPS. But, I found this game, ordered a full tower case, and now am going to build a beast machine just for this game and other games that come out to, so, buh bye laptop and buh bye WoW.

Hey guys. I am quitting my current MMO that i've played since day one, Lord of the Rings Online, for Aion. I led one of the top 3 best clans on AoC when I played it (Niflheimr -- currently Legion of the Black Dragon)... but am going to focus all of my time on this game. I have lots of experience leading clans and such, and have quite a few RL and online friends going to join my clan. Please get back to me with more information, surely we can make this game a fantastic social experience.

I can asure you that it will, everyone is going to leave having a dramatic impact on the servers. No one will be able to dungeon or raid due to lack of people leading the ones still playing WoW to eventually drift of to this game. It wont happen over night though.

I was also thinking like this at the start, but then some guy said that WoW got alot of dual/multi boxers. Almost everyone knows atleast one friend with mulitple accounts, I know 3. They all got 5 accounts each, and think about it. Then you can take like 2 millions accounts away. So then Aion will have almost the same amount of subscribers like WoW.

I can't believe I had to negate a -1 that someone gave BigBlue for simply saying what is probably true. This game looks awesome, and I'll probably trade my WoW addiction for an Aion addiction. But let's be realistic, 11 million people simply have too much time, money, and resources invested into WoW to have all of them just drop it like a hot potato. I believe Aion will put a bigger dent into Wow's subscriber base than anything else has yet, but WoW, unfortunately, is simply too big to kill.

but 3.5mill subs for this game which is in beta in half of the world ,and people keep forgetting that WoW is what it is due to its expansions and patches, and Aion is just beginning its course through it, after aion has a expansion or 2, this game will rival WoW. i can gaurentee you that.

BUT people need to play this as a RPG, meaning pay attention to the story and not just quest and grind mindlessly, cuz then this game will be like any other mmo on the market.

Why dose everyone say Aion is/isnt gonna kill wow. Yes its not gonna just die it's gonna tae a bunch of new games for people to gradually peel off. but i mean perosnally if aion can get 1-2 million subs id be happy b/c i mean thats just a nice chunck of people and you cant forget people are coming from other games then wow. Like guild wars, AOC, War Online, LOTRO and i could go on. In the long run its a fun game if you like it play it if not move on find somthing that is fun for you.

I agree, it's not about whether it does or does not affect WoW in any way. I just want enough people so there is a good economy and easy gameplay. Anything else is a bonus.

These threads start because someone gets a bright idea to say something ridiculous like "this is gonna kill WoW". The only thing that will kill WoW is WoW2 probably. But comments like that are puerile and have no bearing on Aion

Except even in 200+ person battles... on servers on the other side of the planet, I don't get lag, latency wise nor FPS on a much higher quality game engine. Oh.. and the concepts of their sieges are based off Lineage 2 and Guild Wars, not WoW.  The games that actually did it right :P
