@PeanutButterGtr Fetuses do not have cognition, emotions, conscience, and self-awareness. Therefore, the rights of the mother should supersede that of the fetus. Abortions will happen with or without legalizing it, however when making it illegal the woman and child suffer more, it is less clean less unsafe etc. Legalizing it, therefore, is the only rational thing to do.

I am an agnostic-atheist and, if there's anything I agree with Ray on, it's the disagreement with abortion, of course I understand people wanting to give women the choice to be or not be pregnant and I'm not trying to force abstinence or anything like that, I just dont like the whole baby/fetus slaughtering thing. Still, to the religiously pro-life, i say at least I dont venerate a "holy" book that schizophrenically condones and contradicts my beliefs on this issue at the same time. Ps. 137:9.

@RandomBS88 No, but what you are saying that an unfinished mind, a pre-born baby who is not aware of the universe, life, death, nor act or consequence should have the right to dictate over a woman's right to choose for herself if she would want to go through with a pregnancy. That is to more detestable than to abort this fetus. The hardship and responsibility that comes with a pregnancy and having a child far outweighs the loss of a life that wasn't ever truly living.

Also, there are claims from the pro-life people that those in the abortion industry aren't exactly model citizens; allegations of child-sex cover-up, racism, unfriendliness towards those who change their minds, women who go thru with it get vaginal area damaged or die; thats just a few things i have heard, not 100% sure they're true, but not sure Planned Parenthood and all them would admit it if it was. My suggestion will be in my next comment.

@SixtySeventh If it were up to me, I'd illegalize to some extent, but allow it for up to the first 4 to 5 weeks if the woman is not ready for the child, and if the fetus cant possibly be kept alive, give it a more proper burial, dont just throw it in the trash. Or, there might not be any harm in using it for research. For really extreme health reasons where nothing can be done except to abort, that'd be fair game. And developing a better birth control would help too.

If i remember right, my sister who was pregnant checked for the baby's heart-rate in July or August, the baby came out earlier this month, March. What, can we not come up with a better technology to detect pregnancy much sooner? Is religion still halting the advances of science? Ok, if u must abort, do as soon as u know, if thats what u really want, but...

I mean, what if the woman cant care for the child and she cant find anyone she trusts to adopt it?
