Excuse me if my comment is rude, because I am ignorant when it comes to deafness and these cochlear implants. After having these implants done, do you begin to loose your speach impediment?

@PONTIACGRANDPRIX I don't think it's rude at all...we love the chance to educate others on how well implants work. Most people find that speech impediments get better after they are implanted. Some do not, but they are usually the people that have been deaf for many years and have "stubborn brains" :) I was told by several people after being implanted that my speech got better.
