  • These comments are ridiculous. Is it a good self defense round? No. But it excels in ammo cost and is a great training and starter gun for kids and women that need it. And did I mention price of ammo when shooting for fun?

  • ya, the .223 m16 round is basically a glorified .22 round.,

  • Yes, a .22lr is a very effective round. That is why organized crime figures used it in the day. It was cheap, the firearms could be discarded easily, and they are easy to silence. It's all about bullet placement not about caliber. Look at the damage John Hinckley, Jr. caused with his cheap Rohm Rg-14 .22.

  • Statistically, the 22lr has killed more people than any other caliber in history, though that has much to do with how common and cheap they are rather than their lethality. That being said, a 22lr round even when shot through a pistol will easily penetrate a skull or a rib, which means it can reach and greatly injure any of your vital organs.

  • Seung-Hui Cho, the Virginia Tech assassin, used two guns that day: a Glock 19 (9mm) and a Walther P22. Arguments about the .22 LR supposed lack of stopping power are lost on me.

  • 1. The .22 is extremely underrated. 2. That being said, it's still semi-vaginal. 3. The milk jug won.

  • i prefer the 10mm for self defence ; ) but i do not feel too threatened with my jimenez-22 with quick reload practice and cci mini mags. they are rated at 1650 fps. so much better than the overpriced and silly .380 :P eace

  • @ferdiedude Hey, don't knock .380. My Sig Sauer P238 was expensive for its size, but worth every penny.

  • The .22 is the most used assassination caliber in the world for a reason.

  • Comment removed

  • Three things contribute to the leathality of a bullet regardless of it's size: Location, Location, Location.

  • I would agree about the underestimated power of a .22lr but at the same time I think a self defense weapon that is better suited and almost as cheap to shoot is a nice 9mm.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 No 12 bore shotgun, they r the ultimate for home defense, theres a reason the police use them as they create less collateral damage and have a serious kick, and can fire out to 100yards if you use the right ammo

  • @kenny01622 Yes a 12 gauge is definitely the best for home defense, I was talking about personal self defense, like not at your home, I haven't seen a lot of people walking around with 12 gauges on their back lol.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Obviously you haven't been watching The Walking Dead x-D

  • @ryanb97 Zombies are totally different, thats what shotguns are for :-P

  • I WANT ONE BUT IM 18 "(

  • @pvtking18 Well i am now 19 however i own several handguns and long guns since 18 (but not yet .22, i am planning to buy some nice .22 revolver with 6 inch barrell this summer). I do not live in the US though. I do live in Czech Republic .)

  • these guns have alot of ftf fte and feel cheap but ammo is cheap.i have a black one its a pretty decent gun for the money but is not the best.dont carry a 22lr for self defense i wouldnt. go with a 25. instead of 22

  • Most folks will scoff at a 22,But a 22 stinger will go right through a half inch piece of plywood. Your chest is a whole lot softer than plywood. That was very nice. What kind of 22 pistol was that? Looks like a Phoenix 22. I'll have to looks for one at the next gun show.

  • I agree, 22 is the best cal you can get imo. The ammo is cheap, they travel in excess of 1200 fps, and at 15 fee that have the muzzle energy of a 40 at 30 feet. Special forces use silenced 22s, if the special forces use them why wont you? The .22 is way under estimated and a bullet to the hip will drop ANYONE.

  • my buddy who was a cop got shot and killed with a 22lr. he was 6 foot 5 and 280 punds

  • faggot

  • alot of ppl rag on the 22's but i have seen a 6ft1 dude who was like 210 get hit with one and he went down quick.

  • i have a ruger 10/22 i converted to fully automatic. it will empty a full 60 round clip in 10 seconds without locking up

  • the only thing is that a 22 bullet is very dirty, after shooting you have like a sludge of grease in your gun

  • @bravoalphabravo01 that's an ammo quality issue, don't use low quality rounds, better quality rounds will have a cleaner burn

  • Hold the gun like its a .45 haha

  • Sounds Like the Milk

Jug was In the hoooood!!! Lolz Vault

  • Gotta remember not every home invader is someone dying to eat as many bullets as they can (this is called self preservation). For most encounters (not all!) the fact that you have a gun and are sending hot led down range is going to cause most attackers to rethink their plan.

  • 22 is lethal, its a gangster gun, pop one in someones skull and the bullet doesnt exit it bounces around inside their head lol

  • The 22lr will penetrate and squirrel around in flesh, depending on what it is passing through, meant and gristle, and what it hits, namely, bone. Of course, I don't know for sure, but my best estimate is that most people would not one to get hit in the head with a .22 unless they had a death wish.

  • Not to bring up an old conversation but I'm pretty sure 5+ rounds of even a .22 to the chest area would be lethal. I wish there was some way to prove it though, maybe on a death row inmate or something...

  • Lol....just like Gamer..

  • Milk jug Wins!

  • haha, fuck save that for some later lulz, haha

  • how much does a .22 mag pistol

  • i could buy this gun with 1 day of work :D

  • i want this gun it is so cool and like 100 dollars lol

  • I want one cuzz it's cheap

  • showed that turd who's boss.

  • Thinkin' about buying one of these, be honest, what do you like about, what do you dislike about it?

  • 1) it's cheap

    2) low recoil

    3) .22 LR is actually pretty strong and lethal

    4) lots of people underestimate the power

    5) not too loud compared to other calibers.

  • u got the piont finally someone besides me gets that

  • Only lethal if hit somewhere vital. Other than that good luck snapping bone, tearing thick muscle and soft tissue.

  • @bansheekiller Uhh ya. I could shoot you in the leg with a .44 mag and you'd still live.. and .44 mag is CLEARLY more "lethal" than a .22.. so what's your point again?

  • You're right, but that's kind of a "no shit" comment. MY point is that .22lr is a highly underrated round and perfectly capable for self defense.

  • @gpburr

As long as you can reliably place rounds in vital areas even a pellet gun could be viable for self defense.

  • True enough. So could my fists, or an oversied jelly bean if i were so inclined to shove it down someone's throat.

  • @gpburr no its not. .22 short even is very lethal, however it has no stopping power. if somone breaks into your home with a knife and you shoot him with a .22 hes going to stab you one way or another. unless your somekind of combat operative and pop him in the head point blank. your going to have a couple stab wounds in you

  • @xCrazycatzx absolute nonsense

  • @xCrazycatzx R u kidding this thing has a 10 round clip put two or three in his chest and hes dead, and if all else fails fire a few more, plus if it doesnt kill them that person would have to be an absolute physco dosed up on PCP to then come at you with a knife, stop playing computer games and get in the real world.

  • @kenny01622 Well it depends.... mainly on the attacker 22 will kill there is no question about it however will it stop the attacker right away - only if you shoot him in the head or he gets a shock that he has been shot. There are lot of stories of people dont even registering that they have been shot ... you know the adrenalin kicks in and that sort of stuff. But dont get me wrong 22 is still hell better than throwing rocks.. its better than nothing but they are better options.

  • @gpburr

Finally, someone that can say that the .22 is a decent carry and can spell DEFENSE RIGHT! Hallelujah.

  • @gpburr If not better for self defense especially in the home where firing a larger caliber just causes collateral, plus no one would hear u coming

  • shoot yourself with a .22lr in non vital spot and see if not lethal ; )

  • @RIEKSONE well it probably wouldnt be so long as you go to the hospital in time. its alot harder to kill a person than most people think.

  • Umm, all pistols that shoot like 5-15 rounds like this one are lethal, they may do very low damage, but still lethal, if you do not hit somewhere good on the first shot you still got like 14 to waste. 15 bullets = your going to get a good shot or..you just suck. :D

  • how much is it?

  • @alecshinyuanwu well said and you can actually shoot dear with .22lr

  • @alecshinyuanwu si, si ese pedasito de plomo entra en tu cuerpo, te recorre de pie a cabeza y moriste, otra cosa, es muy barata y facil de conseguir

  • @alecshinyuanwu True true. Especially with CCI Stingers Hyper Velocity Hollow Points. 1640 fps 50 a case, been over a year since I shot they were around 9$ or $10 when I bought them. Badass rounds stops jams too because of the high pressure in the chamber.
