So unless you want one for the shelf, and they are quite large and look very very nice or it is cheap cheap. I would leave any JPX you find well alone.
Top Top dollar for a JPX engine that has been run once or twice and comes with the gas tank and ALL support equipment and is in IMACULATE condition is worth a max of 500 sterling if you really really want one, but don't expect it to last if you intent to use it as the quality control was quite poor and some engines saw 100 runs before the bearings failed, others saw 3. As I mentioned if the brgs fail its a wreck.
An almost identical looking but much improved version was produced by a company called sophia precision called the J-450 I think. The JPX is a noteworthy engine in that it was one of the first comercially produced engines and cost around 4000 sterling at the time, however lack of spares, and the development of much more poweful, lighter, reliable and user friendly engines have all but made it useless for anything but a curiosity.
It was manufactured by a company called JPX in France. They offered a few versions of the engine as develoment progressed. It was eventully discontinued, good ones are reletively rare now as they utilised unusual bearings which require the shaft to be ground down to a more common dimension should you wish to find economical replacements. (ie less than the cost of the enigne itself).
