It is brave of you to go to a place like that mingle with people that are so drastically diffrnt from yourself, someday I plan on doing something like that but more with develping a country like Gaboon, the Frenchs really fooled them by offering them TINY huts food and water in exchange for their natural EXPENSIVE goods.. bastards
This is Not Cameroon.. This a native tribes in Central West Papua, Indonesia. I recognize their song and dancing. We call it "Waita". I was born and growth up there.
"The NTM missionary team learns the tribal language and understands the culture, so the message of the Gospel can be presented in the language and the manner the people will understand." - The NTM Website. I genuinely believe that your organisation should stop what you are doing. You are destroying the diversity of the world. Diversity is also in God's plan. These people are not ment to be converted, they are ment to be left alone so that our children can live in a world of diversity.
@aneeko "For this is what the LORD says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other." Isaiah 45:18
""I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols." Isaiah 42:8
"I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior." Isaiah 43:11
@aneeko These "tribe" people are people just like you and me, it's not a good thing to treat them as if they were animals in extinction which are to be kept untouched for scientific study or for the benefit of a more "developed" society. They are people as important, valuable and intelligent as in any other culture, and so they can interact with other people, change their ways if they want, believe (or not) what they want, reconsider their beliefs, etc without losing their identity. Like u and I
@pathet0s Be sure to say that when their ancestors are fat and diabetic, with burgers and coke in their hands. But I guess the uploaders of this video don't care, as long as they know the word of Christ.
I do agree with you however, they have the same value and rights as we do. That doesn't give us the right, and definetly not the religious obligation, to transform their culture in a significant way. Let them develope and grow on their own, instead of entice them with our ways.
@aneeko Historically (but not always) preachers have brought the word of God together with their culture and ways (I say brought, 'cause I'm Chilean), and that is so mistaken. So for most evangelical christians here the right way to worship is doing the same gringos do in their services, dressed with tie and suit (like gringo missionaries last century), and as a result we are fat and diabetic, drink coke and eat McDowells (ha) but don't read the bible pretty much. But.. (CONTINUES)
@pathet0s ...but I don't see these guys doing the same. I don't see them trying to "westernizise" them. (Christianity is not a western religion, and western version is just one amongst many) The Moi are valuable people, so they deserve listening to the message of Christ just like any other person in the world. And just like any other person, it's up to them saying either yes or no. Maybe there's a "cosmovison" problem, but I feel no difference in talking about (CONTINUES again, sorry)
@pathet0s ... talking about Christ to a European tourist, my neighbor, an Aymara guy in the north of Chile, or a tribe guy in Indonesia. I don't see myself a protector of "weaker" people, ethnologically speaking. As a christian, I do believe my duty to speak about what I believe is the most important subject in earth, and not to force anybody, 'cause the one that works in people's minds in God himself.
