One thing, Pein is Yashiko (A former student of Jiraiya) and is a CORPSE the 6 Peins (or Pains) are corpses of ninjas that Jiraiya has fought before. Nagato (another of Jiraiya's students) is controlling them from a distance (i don't know where but in a dungeon sum1) and i think if the Peins die, so do him. Oh, and Naruto kills the Peins.

@NarutoUzumakiKyuub All of the bodies are Pein, just each is a different "Realm" as such, what you mean is that God Realm (Or Diva Path) is Yahiko, and indeed they are all reanimated bodies, but no, if the Peins are stopped, Nagato is unaffected by it, Naruto does stop most of them, but since they are only animated by Nagato's thoughts and chakra anyway they cant die unless he does or all of their control rods are removed.
