I have to agree that games coming out of LucasArts back then were more 'heart' driven, they had alot more personality and 'cool' factor and every lucas arts title that came out was indeed something special. TellTale games comes very close to recreating it though. I'm hoping more companies will go that route. We need more games that have true visionaries behind them.
