hey, why wont guitar rig 4 load as Vst? im using cubase 5 as my sequencer, when i install guitar rig it even had the wrong path to install vst. all of my vst are C:/programfiles/Vstplguins, so obvisouly i did put guitar rig in that path. but why in cubase does not load as vst? it doesnt appear as vst. its just not their.
whenever I leave my gate on 9 o clock like you have here I get a ton of noise in between notes etc, but you don't seem to get that....what am I doing wrong, and is it a problem tone wise to turn the noise gate all the way down?
I've got a question. How big is the influence of the guitar itself on the sound? What's the difference between using guitar rig 4 with a cheap ibanez for example, and an expensive one that sounds heavy?
>NOOO WAYYY!!! Black star is so fucking sick!!! Ok i got a question it may sounds stupid but im new with this. I have a windows 7 laptop, can i run guitar rig in torrent and what do i need? What is the stuff i need to plug my guitar into my laptop and run guitar rig 4
Hi. I tried Guitar rig 4 with ASIO4all. I was worried that when I started it and chose ASIO4all, I would not hear anything, and I was correct. Tell me. If I just plug my guitar into my laptop and can see it giving off sounds, how complicated will it be for me to actually hear the sound from my laptop speakers? Is it like 10 hours of work to understand, or 1 week? OR SHOULD I be able to hear it?
@BelRiose2000 No its not even one hour of work...just get the asio driver and use the asio setting in guitar rig---I'm using m audio fast track pro and there are no problems at all....very easy...I was also worried with all the negative comments ab´bout fast track, asio, etc etc,...but it all worked fine...usb connected...just plug your spoeaker wire into the headphones socket of the audio interface (m audio) i can put it through the speakers or to my amp ir headphones....worked easily for me...
what kind of output do you use to listen to something? when I'm using it with my interface I can't get a single sound out through my pc speakers or my amp, and I also tried with headphones
@guitarnoize don't worry I solved it :) for some reason the sound started to come out through my amp, probably I solved it by doing something but I don't know xD
however I get a lot of noise coming out, is it because of my interface? or the slowness of my pc? also the rig doesn't sound at the time when I play, it has some delay time of fraction of seconds
@cochi256 the delay is called Latency and you should be able to change the amount in your either Guitar Rig preferences -> Audio -> Latency in the stand alone version or using your audio settings in your DAW for recording.
@cochi256 Yeah, if you're using pro tools, trying setting your Hardware Buffer lower under Playback engine. 512 should do it, but the lower the better. I don't about the nomenclature for Logic and stuff, but it should be something similar.
@cochi256 try getting, if you don't already have it, is the Asio4All sound drivers. That would kill the delay and produce kick-ass sound. You can get them free at .asio4all.com
Once you have the drivers downloaded and installed, open up Guitar Rig and click on File (upper left) then click on Audio and Midi settings, and under 'driver', toggle ASIO and you should be good to go. You'll need to restart guitar rig after the change for it to take effect.
I was about to ask the same thing. I personally think Guitar Rig 4 is a piece of trash. I've been using it for a year now and still haven't found a way to get rid of the stupid white noise without affecting other sound parameters.
I get that damn white noise that can be heard at the beginning all the time, except for several bass presets. so it's not the computer, it's not the guitar. it's that damn software
How on earth do you get that sound ?!?! I have Guitar Rig 4 and have no idea how to get good sounds. The presets that come with sound like garbage. Im thinking it has to do with the interface or something ?
how do i get to use Guitar rig 4 as a VST plugin in Albeton live 7...it shows up in the VST folder on the side and i can bring it up but it dont get any sound coming from it... as standalone it works fine but not in Albeton live
This is a fantastic review! Your playing is just amazing, as the sound is. I bought a quite descent soundcard (Focusrite Saffire 14 pro), but i'm unable to get amazing sounds like this from my GR4. My settings are like it should be, i have instrument (not line) settings on (more gain), all is like it should to be. But my sound is more quiet and with less treble than yours. I just don't get whats the problem is :( I used the same patches of course.
@voltaspeeder17 Different guitars, different pickups? Same as a real amp no two guitars will have the sane setup just tweak to taste. Try adjusting your input volume in GR too
@guitarnoize - We tried it with lots of different guitars and it's almost the same. The sounds are a bit different, but lack of clearity and definition can be heard by a mile. Your sound isn't only better in what i said before, but it's also louder. Did you left all settings untouched? The only thing it could be i the cable now. But i have quite good Proel's cabel, i think it should be ok. Thanks for your answer man, i aprecciate it! ;)
@guitarnoize - I learned what the problem was/is. It's definately a guitar or i'd better say pickups (with better cable it would be even better), I just had to use different combination of pickups, adjust gain level on my soundcard and i get very close now. Just one more question. Did you boost your volume in Ableton? It's louder than my presets in GR.
@guitarnoize I tried connecting my guitar straight to my pc onboard sound card and i got alot of background noise and it sounded like garbage is my sound card crap? is trhe cable crap? or what
How is this with copyright laws...if you made a song and someone wanted to make a contract with you...or you wanted to sell the songs how they were recorded...would this be against copyright laws...
yo yo yo yo i need help today i brought an audio interface but GRRR when i run guitar rig it sounds like shit theres no latency but it sounds like SHIT! i don't know what to do please help and its a good audio usb interface
@MrDohmah that could well be the problem, on a mac I have to go into the system settings -> audio -> output and select my interface as the output device if that helps?
@guitarnoize mmm i have done that but i still get a bad sound. my speakers are connected to the rear input and my M-audio fast track audio interface is connected to the usb port. on the control panel for sound playback im using fast track out 1/2 and for sound recording im using the same thing however when i use these options my computer sound doesn't work. if every thing is properly connected am i supose to hear my guitar through my speakers?? please help
First i have to say that this video is trully amazing, i love your playing man! I have a question for you. Thanks for the answer in advance!
How can you play without any lag? I have good audio interface with preamp which suposed to be lagless, but when i'm playing through my computer speakers, you can hear that the sound is a bit late (in drivers says 4ms). I can live with that, but folks which record by me are really annoyed by it. Can i fix this?
@voltaspeeder17 sorry for the late reply, I have my latency set to around 8ms and monitor it through my interface headphones it's hardly noticeable. 4ms is about the same latency you get standing a few feet in front of an amp apparently.
Hey, nice video! I just bought the Line 6 Pod Studio UX1, but the sounds from the Pod Farm Plug in aren't great. If I bought Guitar Rig Pro 4, would I be able to use my UX1 as the recording device, obtaining the sounds from Guitar Rig 4 & then record in Ableton Live? :)
@spenceguitarguy it could be, I use a proper audio interface and I used to have this squeal when i wasnt playing but this can ber erasen by setting the imput to something low, I have mine in the minimum
Can any guitar work on this program? Thinking of getting it but my electric guitar is just a cheap local one. I'm not gonna buy a new one until I'm sure I really want to be serious in playing the guitar.
@guitarnoize I Have a question buddy : i wanna use guitar rig 4 on stage for the show in my school i got on next monday. The problem is i don t know what kind of amp i should use : we have a behringer keyboard amp but it s not working well (fucking annoying noise when i turn the master button) and i can t connect the rig kontrol 3 through the PA system we also got. All that stuff bothers me but i really wanna get a slash tone live lol
Very nice :D can i ask a very noobish question? I am trying to use guitar rig 4 and was just wondering what kind of equipment i need.. .ive tried taking a cable from my amp to the mic input of my pc but guitar rig doesnt pick it up. do i need some kind of interface?
Hey, Can anyone help me with a problem with the presets.
When I startup Guitar Rig I see the same presets like you have for a couple seconds. Then it's loading some other preset in this order: Guitar Amps, Styles , Effects , Order
The actual presets are on my computer but it keeps reloading with the ones which are useless. Can any1 help me plz, it's really frustrating, Trying to figure it out a couple of hours but got no sulution yet :(
Does anybody know what the name of the song is at 2:35 ? To me it sounds like a Van Halen sound, but I don't think it's really Van Halen. This is driving me crazy trying to guess!
The free version is the demo version isnt it? im pretty sure they would copyright it to where there couldnt be a free version of guitar rig, unless its the demo.
Can I use Guitar Rig 4 with Kontrol to jam along to windows media player .MP3's while using my laptop? probably a stupid question but I couldn't get a signal in my laptop with my Tonelab LE.
@guitarnoize man nice video and nice playing zep lol. Can you tell me if i made a good choice to order M-audio MKII fast audio around 100 euros. You think i ll get clear sound from 2 not expensive speakers and 1 subw thanks
@guitarnoize yehh thats what i needed to know, and when i use it for soem reason i get a really high pitch continuous squeal like feedback from amps, is it a faulty connection to my guitar? or have i buggered something up? lol
@judgerudge123 Sounds like you are plugging in directly into the computer? You need an audio interface, I use a Tapco but there are cheaper ones like line6
@judgerudge123 line6 have one called TonePort, NI also have one called the Guitar Rig Mobile I/O audio interface and IK Multimedia who do Amplitube have a couple, the StealthPlug and the Stealth Pedal
@judgerudge123 When I bought my liine6 audio interface I had to buy a separate card with USB ports for the computer because the computers integrated ports made this insane static noise. When plugging in to the new ports though it works perfect.

Anyone know how Guitar Rig compares to Amplitube?
Designedbydeath 1 year ago
@Designedbydeath Amplitube 3 wins. It sounds so real that CJ of Drowning Pool can't tell the different.

Is it possible to record a track with the demo version of Guitar Rig?
By the way, great playing.
TheGeorgeJunior 1 year ago
GUitar rig is fun, but its not good enough for performing. Too much noise. not enough guts.

The free version is the demo version isnt it? im pretty sure they would copyright it to where there couldnt be a free version of guitar rig, unless its the demo.

Why should I buy ?? I can get it for free !!
realjuvelive 1 year ago
@realjuvelive You should buy because its the ethical thing to do. The only reason such a good product exists is because people pay for it.

Can I play with it without an amp for live? Right into the mixer? Results would be acceptable?
TheBelva85 1 year ago
@TheBelva85 definitely it has a standalone application as well as a plug-in, it was designed to be used live.

does it play out loud as you are playing???
judgerudge123 1 year ago
@judgerudge123 erm.. sorry? It's as loud as your speakers can go!
guitarnoize 1 year ago
@guitarnoize yehh thats what i needed to know, and when i use it for soem reason i get a really high pitch continuous squeal like feedback from amps, is it a faulty connection to my guitar? or have i buggered something up? lol
judgerudge123 1 year ago
@judgerudge123 Sounds like you are plugging in directly into the computer? You need an audio interface, I use a Tapco but there are cheaper ones like line6
guitarnoize 1 year ago
@guitarnoize oh i did plug it directly in through the mic jack, is that why? lol, and audio interface =S can you give me an example of a line 6 one?
judgerudge123 1 year ago
@judgerudge123 line6 have one called TonePort, NI also have one called the Guitar Rig Mobile I/O audio interface and IK Multimedia who do Amplitube have a couple, the StealthPlug and the Stealth Pedal
guitarnoize 1 year ago
@judgerudge123 When I bought my liine6 audio interface I had to buy a separate card with USB ports for the computer because the computers integrated ports made this insane static noise. When plugging in to the new ports though it works perfect.

Nice demo. Can I just plug my guitar into guitar rig, and get various sound effects that way, or do I need other hardware or software to do that?
Thanks.
