I saved the council cause that's the right way. Sacrificing a bunch of human ships to save over 10 thousand alien lives is worth it imho, unless you are specist. It feels really evil to let die all of your alien allies so humanity can control the universe.

Udina is an experienced politician, but he's manipulative, ruthless and even somewhat corruptible. Anderson is the paragon choice and Udina is the renegade.

Well, you get both Paragon and Renegade points if you chose that option, because you are letting the council die, but you are doing it because you feel you need to, unlike the "Let them die" option. However, since you recieve more Paragon points, I would technically consider it a Paragon option...
@lilJOE97 It can be either. The council is lost in this ending but whether you get "Paragon without council" or "Renegade without council" depends on your end alignment.

@JN59639 Not sure if you've since found where to get the armour but it is the Krogan battlemaster armour and you can get it by, firstly, buying the Geth Armory License from Morlan (he's in the lower wards near Chora's Den) and then visiting the Normandy requisitions officer in the cargo hold of the normandy. Also, the Geth Armory License won't be available from Morlan until you reach level 36 I think.

mass effect 2 is a really good game. story and gameplaywise but letting shepard die at the beginning is just awefull...

Touch decision lol, whoever picked the ambassador must be on Ps3... coz if you played Mass Effect 1, you would know that the ambassador is a dick :L... Otherwise best game series ever and Movie-standard storyline :D!!

i played this game as paragon but i prefer renegade ending, cause i never like those council (i hate the turian most). and i want to make humanity is an council race so they will respect the humanity. maybe if (there is) a real turian or asari, maybe they will save the council :)

i love mass effect 1 and 2 just like the next guy but i have to say i loved mass effect 1 a little more cause i felt there was more at stake yes the collectors were a threat in mass effect 2 but think about it if the didn't make it in enough time to stop Saren Sovereign would of open the portal to dark space and they wold have no way to stop the reapers

A big reason why I can't be a Renegade is because I love working with other races and I hate the anti-alien racism which Shepard approves when killing the Council.

Everybody seems to forget that by letting the council die, you kill the 10.000 crew of the ascension, pretty stupid espacially when you know its the most powerfull ship in council space and will probably be usefull against the reapers.
See I dont understand... the Asari councillor acknowledged that he saved them from "The Reapers".. but in ME2 they completely deny that there are reapers and turn extremely skeptical. Seems like a blunder in the writing to me..

@galaxy366 Well I presume the Reaprs would go after all the human colonies, but Earth is our homeworld so it would be strategicly smart to destroy the homeworld first, denying the Alliance a rally point and lose most of their population. If the solsar system falls, so does the Alliance.
More like the writers needed the council to be in denial in order for the second game to work effectively and probably regretted having the council become believers by the end of ME1. Being a writer myself, that would be my best guess.

The Council, self-righteous assholes as they are, are an important part of the centre of galactic power. Humanity is too young and too brash to have all that political clout so soon. Collaboration is key.

i love mass effect 1 and 2 just like the next guy but i have to say i loved mass effect 1 a little more cause i felt there was more at stake yes the collectors were a threat in mass effect 2 but think about it if the didn't make it in enough time to stop Saren Sovereign would of open the portal to dark space and they wold have no way to stop the reapers

I just finished this game and GOD DAMN IT IS MELODRAMATIC.
The music just kills me - it's so overdone. Take the melodrama away, and what you're left with is a slightly above average game with pretty graphics.

Everybody seems to forget that by letting the council die, you kill the 10.000 crew of the ascension, pretty stupid espacially when you know its the most powerfull ship in council space and will probably be usefull against the reapers.

See I dont understand... the Asari councillor acknowledged that he saved them from "The Reapers".. but in ME2 they completely deny that there are reapers and turn extremely skeptical. Seems like a blunder in the writing to me..

I'm thinking that they never accepted the Reapers were real because at first she said "Sovereign and the Geth". You could just say they were playing along because it's not smart to argue with somebody who saved your life.

But if you see the dialogue in ME2 she says: "We believe what you believe", they just need proof of the reapers i think. And the turian councilor is the worst of all the 3. I´m looking foward for ME3 to see what happens with the Reapers and the Council.

@insaneapples They are not useless - just rational. If I say to you that I saw a alien would you believe me? Or that Russia is going to strike USA west shore tomorrow? They believe you at the end, but all the evidence about them was gone, Sovereign was mostly destroyed to salvage anything and you where killed. In third part I am sure, if you let them live, that their combine fleet will assist you. If you let them die...well let's just say if I am in their position - I would tell you : "Fuck You"

@galaxy366 Well I presume the Reaprs would go after all the human colonies, but Earth is our homeworld so it would be strategicly smart to destroy the homeworld first, denying the Alliance a rally point and lose most of their population. If the solsar system falls, so does the Alliance.

More like the writers needed the council to be in denial in order for the second game to work effectively and probably regretted having the council become believers by the end of ME1. Being a writer myself, that would be my best guess.
