  • phil collins on drums?

  • Princess Frida is absolutely amazing! She's beautiful and this song kicks ass. She is like Pat Benatar's disco-influenced twin. So totally cool, both Agnetha and Frida made it into the 80's with some pretty catchy songs.

  • Probably you don't know, but in Sanremo in the '80s only italian singer part of the contest where singing live. Guests were singing in playback. This was the rule.

    Anni-Frid is extraordinary as usual.

  • I remember the first time I heard the song and saw the original video...it absolutely floored me. This is one of those songs that does not need to be played a million times for people to be swept up by its passion. Excellent!

  • This one may have been released as a single in certain parts of the world in 1984, but it was recorded in 1982, probably around the time ABBA offically broke up....the video was played heavily in MTV during the fall of '82.

  • It is from 1984.

  • It is from 1984

  • any1 know what year this was recorded??

  • Phil Collins production & songwriting, Frida's great voice and looks, Phil Collins on drums, Daryl Stuermer on guitar, and I am not sure I remember much else about this, but honestly, really, what else do you need?

    ;-)

  • @vampiroangelico Phil Collins did not write this song.

  • michele casey i love forever

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Beautiful Princess Frida and this song rocks. :))

  • @gsxrbuckeye - you don't have to call her a bitch cause the song is not live psychopath.

  • @Jamy729

    Thank you for your comment

  • I WONDER IF THIS BITCH EVER SANG THIS SONG LIVE BESIDES IN THE STUDIO?

  • @gsxrbuckeye - you don't have to call her a bitch cause the song is not live psychopath.

  • @gsxrbuckeye

You should know that NOBODY sang live in those years. That was not the ability of the artists themselves that prevented it, but it was technically too expensive and time-eating with the stuff the people backstage had at their disposal. That in the past few years people sing life on stage is due to much of improvement on the equipment that makes it possible to mix it right in time and without too much costs.

That all aside this is a great song from a great singer. Gotta love her!

  • @TheRealTricky also due to what occurred with milli vanilli... ;)

  • @furpurr

People who want to bash down always find a reason, don't they?

Milli Vanilli was fake, but that has nothing to do with my entire statement.

  • This song has always been memorable, Great talent from an past era, either with the group AbbA or not.

  • fucking plenty of fish ad...why the fuck are they all over youtube?!

  • So what's Frida full married name and royal title now?

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah Anni-Frid Prinzessin Reuss von Plauen

  • @nuwavevidspud Thanks for that - sounds cool that's for sure!

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah You're welcome. It sure does

  • like it so much it's great, in drums remind me phill conlins style

    thanks 4 posting it.

  • Frida's voice is awesome!

  • No, that's the one and only Phil Collins on the drums. That drum line freakin' MAKES this song.

  • My mate Mark Brzezicki from Big Country on the drums

  • man they trotter her out all over the place for this one, didn't they? did she ever make it to america to do this shitty lip-synch in these godawful outfits?

  • she's a goddess in my heart and a princess in reality :))

  • A goddess in flare pantoons! lol

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah i think her dresser and her choreographer were in cahoots.

  • Comment removed

  • If Phil Collins produced and drummed for Frida post-ABBA, no wonder she died in the arse.

  • Frida is a goddess!

  • @Dickola100 Fridaa, a goddess, yeah right lol

  • Sorry...but not Ruffo von Platten...Right is: Heinrich Ruzzo Prinz Reuß von Plauen! Anni-Frid Lyngstad Princess von Plauen is her Titel.

  • @SamGarl a good Prussian girl!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lipsync or not lipsync, that is the question.

  • Despite Anni Frid being credited with this song, it sounds suspiciously like Agnetha Faltskog's more soprano voice. It's made to sound sireny (as their voices were in many ABBA songs). I remember that in an interview once, Anni Frid said that she was envious that Agnetha's voice was often chosen over hers to front a lot of their songs. Yesterday on a Belgian radio station the presenter announced this song as being sung by Agnetha Faltskog.

  • @Enerjee Collins choose Frida to sing this song. She sings it.

  • @saluut2001 When ABBA went on a break that ended up being permanent, Frida (and Agnetha) went on solo careers while Benny and Björn worked with Tim Rice to wirte the musical Chess. Frida was feeling a sense of loss after the break-up of her marriage with Benny and through her daughter heard Phil Collins and asked him to produce her first post-ABBA album. They sent out a call for submissions to get artists to write songs for her, and she ended up choosing this one, which became her biggest hit.

  • @graficjack

Thanks for your reply didn't know that Frida actually asked Collins to to write songs for her.

  • The presenter is wrong... on Frida The DVD, there's video footage of Frida recording the song in the studio... Frida has a large range and though she was often singing mezzo in most of the ABBA songs, you can tell this is still her voice. While she may have been jealous of a song or two, she sang some of ABBA's biggest hits: Fernando; Knowing Me, Knowing You; Money x 3; I Have a Dream and Super Trouper among them. Her post-ABBA career was more successful than Aggy's, too. She can b proud of that

  • @graficjack - yes I know the presenter was wrong. Thank you for the information regarding Frida's singing on some of ABBA's biggest hits. Their voices are quite difficult to tell apart though sometimes.

  • @Enerjee My pleasure... glad you found the comment useful. If it helps, I find Frida has a slightly deeper voice, that's more powerful and she has an ability to have tremendous resonance in deeper sounds. Aggy's voice is a bit thinner & higher, but what makes her stand out is her sense of emotion that she can sometimes bring to her songs, though sometimes I find her a bit shrill, personally. If you listen to a bunch of songs by ABBA, you'll start to pick out their voices and recognise them

  • @graficjack I have noticed the same. Frida's voice brings up so many different emotions at once and it adds a touch of mysterie. Her voice is astonishing and sometimes I secretly wish Abba had given her more songs to sing. Look at Abba's major hits, Knowing me Knowing you, Dancing Queen, Fernando, Frida honestly adds some serious soul to these songs and makes these songs pure classics.

  • @Enerjee No they're not.

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah - according to you.

  • @Enerjee I never had any difficulty in telling their voices apart - and that was from when I was 4 years of age (ABBA was the first band I ever recognised as a child0.

  • @graficjack That's some good info - thank you

  • @Enerjee What? Did he thought it was Agnetha? Where is the workd going to....

  • @Enerjee What? Agnetha? How can you mistake them?

  • @Enerjee Bizarre this is pure FRIDA, there is no other! Agnetha is certainly awesome but FRIDA ROCKS!

  • A princess? my arse, there is nothing worse than finished aristocracy hanging to any pretense of power as if its life depended on it, PATHETIC. Sorry for the rant, its just this princess crap is so sad. Its bad enough with existing monarchy let alone the very claggy arse end of some European houses. By the way I am an enormous fan of Frida's, this is the only aspect of her I dislike.

  • @mothman2 touche! touche!

  • Frida would make an excellent queen!

  • @abbashalom62 oh, grow up, she's only a Swedish has-been singer.

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah - she will forever be loved as a member of the super group ABBA.

  • @RainOrShineFun ok - I was being a bit mean- I loved her too in ABBA - it's just that I loved Agnetha better.

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah - Good. I love Frida better. :))

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah She's Norwegian

  • @nuwavevidspud Really? I never knew that. Thanks for the info!

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah You're welcome. (born Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad, 15 November 1945 in Bjørkåsen, Ballangen, Norway),

  • If you ever saw my college "roommate" Louise, you'd think you were staring at Frida's twin sister. Yes, THAT similar! And it was because she looked identical to Frida that caused us to break up because the truth was that all the jerks wanted to screw her so they could fantasize about doing it with the ABBA icon. Not that I didn't notice myself, but I actually cared about Louise.

  • @tyme4mike wow, that is actually are really touching personal story - thank you for sharing that!

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah You're welcome. I had to go back quite a way to find what you were referring to. I still see Louise sometimes, and there is still a flame between us. She is still the spitting image of Frida and as beautiful as ever. She never did get married and is single and I believe that her resemblance to Frida caused more heartache than she wants to admit. If I wasn't married...

  • Good God, I'd eat a mile of her poop. I absolutely love her! She blows Agnetha right out of the water IMHO.

  • @floydfreak63 Good God, you really are a FREAK Floyd!!!

  • From what I can see, I think whoever owns this video might have replaced the original live track with the album version. Her lips are not synching correctly with the music.. (and I know sometimes videos are not always in sync on youtube) But it seems she is not on.. also during the guitar solo you can see people clapping but not hear any clapping. They faded the clapping in at the beginning and the end (not very well either) so I would guess by that it was originally a live video.

  • In wich movie was this song again? Can somebody tell me that?

  • Written by Russ Ballard (of Argent); produced by Phil Collins (of Genisus) and he played drums on the original.

  • "I Know Something's Going On" (Key of F: 6mDm-4Bb-5C-1F-3A is one of my favorite songs to play!! :) I love Frida and I love ABBA. I'm highly ABBAnatic. I just love this band!

  • @rhotspot Damn simple no wonder you like playing it.

  • "I Know Something's Going On" (Key of F: 6mDm-4Bb-5C-1F-3A is one of my favorite songs to play!! :) I love Frida and I love ABBA. I'm highly ABBAnatic. I just love this band!

  • @rhotspot Maybe you should listen to ABBA then.

  • That is one fantastic pantsuit.

  • Maybe she just decided not to dance to the rhythm to make it....... special!

I love her and I bought this record from her immediately after she made it! Question of seeing what she made of it without ABBA. And it was not bad at that time!

  • @henriberghe I on the other hand was greatly disappointed. You couldn't even hear her voice from all the awful electronics. The people who produced this album destroyed her career, and any who like to argue - show me where she is now?

  • yes, you're right, apart from having no rhythm, she is very good looking, and this opinion comes from a woman.

  • @lucinagorizia Yeah, and I guess being judged good looking by another woman somehow legitimizes her as an artist. How irrelevant!

  • the song is fantastic but the singer has no rhythm!!!! She can't dance to the beat!!! on all her videos where she's singing this song, she has the same problem. It's so bothersome. Hasn't anyone else noticed? But the song is really one of the best!!!!

  • haha...i know what you mean...i was just thinking the same thing.....but its endearing i think.....thank god theres no meaningless dance routine!.....and she is SO gorgeous!

  • @lucinagorizia What is so 'best' about this song? If it was any good it would be alive and kicking today - but it's dead in the arse. Meanwhile Benny & Bjorn's excellent songwriting lives on forever. One of the best my arse.

  • she has my name :)

  • @Reuss17 That's the most reasonable comment on the whole page. Good onya Reuss17!

  • Fantastic woman! Fantastic voice! Fantastic song!

  • Comment removed

  • like someone said

i'm just glad to see Frida and hear the song lip synched or not. :)

  • She's a princess?

  • yes, i think she was married to a german prince. i´m not sure if he´s still alive...

  • Her father was a German too.. and she was born in Norway.

  • Yes She became a princess

Ruffo Reuss von Platten was a german prince, he died due a cancer

  • @fridatravel that's Russo Reuss von Plauen actually.

  • Yeah, she was married to Prince Heinrich Ruzzo back in '92. As a result she has become close friends with Sweden's Queen Silvia.

  • @TwilightSleep Um....all of the members of ABBA have been friends with the King and Queen of sweden since the mid 1970's.......

  • @beesteboy711 She always was a princess if you ask me, she just didn't have the title until she married Prince von Platten.

  • Frida our elegant princess, just ROCKS!!

  • Man, permit me to be stupid for a minute but alll these years I thought Missing Persons did this song. And to think I loved

    several of ABBA's tunes.

  • Count me among the stupid too. I'm a huge ABBA fan, and I know and like this song a lot, and for some reason, I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that Frida did this song until I just came across this video on YouTube.

I love her and ABBA even more now!

  • Hehe...I could see where you could be confused by the two. There are some similarities between this song and Missing Person's techno pop back in the 80's.

  • Lip-syncin' or not, who gives a crap; the fact is that she is so beautiful and exotic in many ways is what I crave for!

I still love you, Frida...and Agatha!

  • She looks really good here.

  • Frida...so smoking hot and a great voice. What else does one need?

  • Such a Classy work (by Phil), and W O M A N

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ALSO~

  • This is lip-sync'd...as are all of her "live" peformances of this song. I don't think Frida ever performed this song truely live. It was a too heavily processed song to pull it off live.

  • man, i think if you're gonna do it live, the audience will be pysched enough to see you. too bad people had to hear the same exact thing live.

  • I agree

  • but if you ever look at abba's live performances they always lip-sync'd. She was probably just so used to it when she was in Abba.

  • You're wrong. There is a live performance video on youtube

  • Show me. ;)

  • youtube doesn't let me put the link. Just look for the song, the video lasts 4:13

  • I found one that's 4:13, but it's still lip-sync'd. The poor sound quality might make it seem "live", but it's not.

  • Its excellint! I love her voice! :) :D

  • This song has a raw heavy sound to be a pop song, its cool

  • Good video!! :D
