That was really good, thanks... I have had my First Impressions mould for a while now.. and have not had a go.. and now I have seen how you do it... I will give it a go.. thanks xx
Edna, Hi how do I get mde of silicon to make the ball, where they sell the silicon mold pearls, Fondant Pearl Border. I encata your bzcochos are beautiful.
Hi Edna. I love your tutorial videos as they are so helpful. Can you tell me how you would store these if you make them in advance? Also, if you're using all fondant how much tylose would you add. I know it would depend on how much fondant you use but do you have a ratio? You refer to glue in your video on attaching the pearl border to the cake. How would you attache the border to a buttercream iced cake?

@sorrelli4me I dont make these in advance, I make them as I am doing the cake. For the tylose i go by feel. I pour a little bit and when it feels a good xonsistency I stop. If it gets too hard I add more fondant. Usually you get comfortable with it the more you play with it.I would use gum glue to attach to buttercream too.

Hi Edna, I just bought a 12mm mold from D&G ocassion and it looks alot different than yours. The brand is CK. It is not as open like the mold you use, is actually very narrow and hard to open. Do you have any techniques on how to use that kind of molding? I just dont seem to find the one that you have. Thank you : )
Yes, I have that one too..that one makes round pearls instead of flat ones. A bit more difficult to move but really pretty..Let me see what I can do about that, my list keeps growing..lol
Hi Edna, Thank you for your tutorials. It has been a great help to me since i am self-teaching myself on Cake decorating. I was wondering how do i color my pearls after i make them? what do you recommend

Hello Edna, just a quick question about your guide you have. What exactly is it & where did you buy it? Thanks so much for your videos & willingness to share your talent. God Bless, Ciao!
Great video. If you wanted to make the pearls shiny like a pearl how would you do that? How far in advance can you make the pearls? Can you store them for a big cake? So you don't have so much last minute stuff to do?
me gusta mucho tu tutorias estan muy bien explicadas. Geacias que existe gente como tu, porque yo no tengo dinero para tomar clases y contigo he aprendido mucho. gracias
Thanks for showing this video, i thought the pearl was individually rolled out and molded into balls. I am delighted to know that there is a tool that can assist one for creating this effect. Thanks for enlightening me. God bless you.
Edna, I was just on the First Impression website looking for that silicone mold you used in this video to make the pearl border. Can you tell me what are the dimensions of the pearls? Is it the 10,8, & 6mm or the 5, 4, & 3 mm impression. Lo quiero comprar. :) Hay cuando tengas tiempo me dices ok? Gracias! Tu amiga, Laura
I had no idea there was a mold that made a flat sided strand of pearls! I have the type that makes two sided strands and I find myself not wanting to get it out! Also, your mold is much longer than mine! Thank you for educating me. :-)
Can you keep this in a jar so it is readily available when you work? I really do not like working with water because sometimes the fondant flower just falls off, not very sturdy. thanks for your very quick reply.
No you dont grease the mold. Usually I use gumpaste or fondant with tylose without having to add anything. But if you need something, cornstarch would be my choice.

I had another one from another company, and the pearls kept breaking, it was too short, so many things went wrong with it.I had given up on them too. This one has been the best product not only for pearls but their molds are awesome! I just bought lots of them at ICES convention..:)
