Wow! Becauae of my family and then my realization of the greatness, I have always respected and been endeared by Elvis. Please take alook at my original rockabilly tunes and comment at rockabillygone all one word
Very cool! Oh... but there's a clip believed to be earlier on History Detectives... the "detective" confirmed it may well be the very first footage. It was shot in Texas by two kids on their honeymoon, I believe... in black and white, and Elvis looked less polished and was a bit awkward. The video's also on here on YouTube and also from 1955... you can see it at lorenzostaunovo's youtube page.
The film is misleading. The parts with Elvis, Scotty and Bill were taken at different times than the ones with Buddy, Carl and Johnny. It was taken at the Cotton Club in Lubbock by a local, Ben Hall, on April 29, 1955, who later wrote Blue Days, Black nights.
@muzakaly I forgot her name Peggy something she was a singer though my big sister had Johnny Cash's autobiography & in the book Johnny Cash said that Elvis had a crush on her but Elvis didn't make a pass because all the boys were flirting with her Johnny said the girl was wearing a red suit so I'm guessing its this girl plus you can tell because Elvis looks nervous at 0:52
That's where Lennon got his lyric in the song "run for your life"! At 1:37, "I'd rather see you dead little girl, than to be with another man". That's awesome!
The earliest known film footage shot of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash, performing (despite what the YouTube description says) in 1955 in Lubbock, TX. You'll also see a teenage Buddy Holly visiting backstage. That's Buddy covering Elvis' "Baby Let's Play House" on the soundtrack.
My favorite video of Buddy & Elvis in any capacity. I always read it was in Lubbock, Texas after one of Elvis's shows, but great clip. In Elvis '56 & The Real Buddy Holly Story.
@rickkuhn I was thinking carl perkins showing his "blue suede" shoes almost as if he had already recorded the song.. may be wrong but perhaps this footage is actually from 1956 and Perkins had already released this at the time...not sure.. probably wrong

"Baby Let's Play House"
Elvis hair was always dark brown with gold highlights and in poor light would look this dark.
My call: this IS 1955.
