  • Very cool! Oh... but there's a clip believed to be earlier on History Detectives... the "detective" confirmed it may well be the very first footage. It was shot in Texas by two kids on their honeymoon, I believe... in black and white, and Elvis looked less polished and was a bit awkward. The video's also on here on YouTube and also from 1955... you can see it at lorenzostaunovo's youtube page.

  • this is the album i wish had been made...can only imagine. all rightfully legends.

  • Buddy Rules!!!

  • WOW!!!! That's Awesome!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • Awesome !

  • elvis bein elvis

  • The film is misleading. The parts with Elvis, Scotty and Bill were taken at different times than the ones with Buddy, Carl and Johnny. It was taken at the Cotton Club in Lubbock by a local, Ben Hall, on April 29, 1955, who later wrote Blue Days, Black nights.

  • I think thats Wanda Jackson in the red dress.

  • some of the greates ever

  • Who is the girl in the red suit at .02?

  • @muzakaly I forgot her name Peggy something she was a singer though my big sister had Johnny Cash's autobiography & in the book Johnny Cash said that Elvis had a crush on her but Elvis didn't make a pass because all the boys were flirting with her Johnny said the girl was wearing a red suit so I'm guessing its this girl plus you can tell because Elvis looks nervous at 0:52

  • "Physically commanding figure." Perfect way to describe Elvis Presley, @acoustic8guitarist

  • Even way back then he was already The King!

  • That's where Lennon got his lyric in the song "run for your life"! At 1:37, "I'd rather see you dead little girl, than to be with another man". That's awesome!

  • Oh my goodness! Wowzee, thank you!

  • Thank you for sharing this very early footage of future stars-in-the-making. :)

  • What a treasure, thanks so much for the upload acoustic, well done.

  • Johnny at 0:58.

  • I live in Amarillo TX .... Went down to Lubbock.. Let me tell you.. These boys left something magical in Lubbock

  • how cool is that, and if these could have only lived to tell the stoies behind these clips. Man what a story they could tell.

  • The earliest known film footage shot of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash, performing (despite what the YouTube description says) in 1955 in Lubbock, TX. You'll also see a teenage Buddy Holly visiting backstage. That's Buddy covering Elvis' "Baby Let's Play House" on the soundtrack.

  • buddy holly died in 1959.... how was he around when elvis was around????

  • @MICHAELTHEDEVIL1 Why did God give us Google?

  • Im from Oklahoma:3

  • The Big Bang!

  • My favorite video of Buddy & Elvis in any capacity. I always read it was in Lubbock, Texas after one of Elvis's shows, but great clip. In Elvis '56 & The Real Buddy Holly Story.

  • his shirt is yellow not green

  • That's Johnny Cash for sure at 0:58 and Carl Perkins showing his "blue suede" shoes at 1:08.

  • @rickkuhn I was thinking carl perkins showing his "blue suede" shoes almost as if he had already recorded the song.. may be wrong but perhaps this footage is actually from 1956 and Perkins had already released this at the time...not sure.. probably wrong

  • Sorry to tell you this but this was filmed in lubbock texas at buddys high school

  • @Pinkpearls38 No it wasn't

  • "Baby Let's Play House"

Elvis hair was always dark brown with gold highlights and in poor light would look this dark.

    My call: this IS 1955.

  • Thanks for sharing this priceless footage! Wonderful stuff!

  • What's the song?

  • There are all. It moves. With the color. It laughs. わあ。みんないる。動いている。色つきで。笑ってる。

  • That looks like Sonny Curtis next to Buddy.

  • @SlashManEXE No doubt about it, that's Sonny.

  • @SlashManEXE Correct. And Don Guess (Bass) is next to Sonny. They were Buddy's band, The Two Tones.

  • elvis is so gorgeous!

  • I think it it is if you look up Waylon jennings when he was younger he had the hair due just like them Buddy and Elvis

  • at 59 is that johnny cash !?

  • this looks colorized...

  • that's not true...elvis hair is already black coloured that cant be 1955!!!
