Semantics! RP is a dove and isolationists are traditional doves. Also, Paul claims "noninterventionism" is not isolationism, it sure sounds like it is. For instance, he even seeks to dismantle the Bretton Woods system of international cooperation. Isolationism by any name, is still isolationism.
Can't win an argument with someone that thinks they knows it all. I think the people above explained it quite well already to you. Open your mind more often and close your mouth much more often so you can learn and listen. Go to dictionary(dot)com and type in isolationism. Different meaning than noninterventionism. You still thinks it's the same. Tell the dictionary website they are all wrong and you are right.
I think you should stick to playing your guitar. Have you been reading Alan Greenspan's novel..err book? I hope you don't believe everything he writes about the necessity of the FED...which is a pile of poo. Are you a Rudy supporter?? You sure sound like one!
Lisa, it must be terrible to only rely on the first two paragraphs in an article to educate yourself. Bretton Woods was indeed dismantled in 71, however economists seek to revive it with something similar. In fact it is referred to as Bretton Woods II. It would stabilize the dollar. RPs opposition makes him an ECONOMIC isolationist as well as a non-interventionist. The very definition you defend and argue.
You claim, that you know history, with same success I can claim, that I know quantum dynamics. It is fine to trade with people, it is not fine to impose your culture and believes on them. And that is exactly what Paul says. Stop globalization before it is too late!

Conservatives have never, EVER been libertarians. RP is a libertarian, an isolationist and loser. He won't even carry the primary. In fact, I'll wager he won't carry one caucus.
well I woulden't quite call him a libertarian any more... but maybe conservatives should be just a thought... I mean kill the hyper lexis, decrease central government, stave of ridiculious taxes and spending, and most important of all change our foreign policy.
Our foreign policy IMO isn't aggressive enough. Too many liberals and doves controlling our destiny. If we had been more aggressive after the Gulf War, we wouldn't be looking at blow back now. I'm sure our hesitation with Iran will result in catastrophe as well.
maybe we shouldent have intervened in Iran in the 50's... imperialism wasn't envisioned by the founders of this country and as strongly as I feel about our national defense imperialism is an unamerican value and empires are destined to fail. A good defense is a good offense, not always true. America can't be a bull in a china shop.
Your post really didn't make a lot of sense. First, you make assumptions about the US being imperialistic but don't support it with fact. We played no imperialistic role in Iran, ever. That's the only nation you mentioned. Why do you think our intervention in the 50's was wrong and how does it relate to any current event?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ron Paul is a Conservative Libertarian. Even the, he's fringe. Hyper Lexis? You'll have to explain that one. Most of what you listed are general conservative values possessed by most of the candidates. RP is the only one who wants to surrender to the enemy.
Isolationism is not accepting any imports from any countries. Non-interventionism is commerce with all, treaties with none...also known as, the original foreign policy of the US. Iraq and Iran: Our involvement in the 50's was because the public had gotten a president who was going to open the oil fields to private owners, which would directly effect oil prices here in the states-and we could no longer delegate the prices.
When that government was overthrown, the one we replaced it with was militaristic, but gave us exclusive sales on the oil, so we didn't interrupt it for years. Later, when the public revolted, we encouraged a specific group that promised to keep the oil with us, and so the 2nd coup in 30 years in Iraq began. This is where Saddam came to power.
Our foreign policy is currently encouraging pre-emptive attacks. So I'd like to come punch you in the face because I think in the future, you're going to post a comment here attempting to redirect what I've said in a negative way. Thats a pre-emptive attack. Except in Military terms it would be more like blow up your city and arrest whats left over.
Oh, and one more thing. He's been a republican senator for 20 years total. This means he's a republican, even though his views are similar to libertarians, his ultimate goal is limited government(conservative) and The Constitution(Republican). Blowback can't be prevented with more force, but it CAN be prevented with diplomacy and common sense. ask yourself: "if they did this to me, would I be mad?"
So batesm, you encourage facts vs. assumptions. I gave you some facts on government involvement in Iraq/Iran, and the difference between Isolationism and NonInterventionism. So my question to you is, please provide facts on how a pre-emptive war strategy reduces dependency on foreign oil, encourages peace, and discourages terrorism?
To say people support Ron Paul 'because they are disenchanted with the candidates now in the lead' belittles Ron Paul supporters. How about people support Ron Paul 'because of his honesty, integrity and political views'.
I think too many people have missed the subliminal [negative] message in these main stream media clips. This is not as positive as it appears at first glance.

What CNN et al are basically saying is, "If we have to do the Ron Paul thing to appease his supporters and stem the flow of emails, let's at least toss in subtle insults to paint them as idiots."
These clips are often presented in a patronizing contumelious manner - subtle enough to escape alarm, yet obvious enough to leave a negative subliminal impression in the minds of the undecided. I think it insults the intelligence of the average viewer since it assumes they are obtuse.

Is anyone else worried for the safety of Dr. Paul. With his ideas on policy (both foriegn and homeland), I think once the wrong people start to truly see him as a political threat, they may retalliate. His ideas could mean major money losses to the rich and corrupt. He speaks the truth which could mean bad news to the very powerful and evil people in our country. Do you agree that RP DEFINITELY needs a bigger security circle around him 24/7? ...or am I just being paranoid?
I think he should spend some of that money on big body guards and expert scanners for extra eyes. Has anybody read this article of suspicious deaths of good politicians?
The biggest thing that Ron Paul can do to make sure of safety is to keep exposing how things are working behind the scenes. These corrupt low lifes hate the limelight and run like cockroaches when you turn the light on them. The more truth the more light. Open government prevents hidden acts.
Canadians support the Ron Paul Revolution! We see Ron Paul as the beginning to a stronger NORTH AMERICA. Our Canadian dollar is now stronger and we are a very prosperous nation that promotes PEACE. Our Health Care is one of the TOP in the WORLD. We are the second smartest nation in the world. Use Ron Paul to be your leader to a brighter future for ALL! Ron Paul 2008! See Canada's views on the Ron Paul Revolution!
"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of State and corporate power."
Benito Mussolini, Fascist dictator of Italy
"Fascism will come to America in the name of anti-fascism'. I'm afraid, based on my own long experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of national security."
I hope she (and/or her producer) doesn't get in trouble for having done that. That sort of thing (evidence of a shut-out) is a very tightly held secret. The cat's out of the bag now; people will be monitoring the monitoring, and demanding equal time. Fair enough, too.
Regards the 'name mention stats' this is clearly not accurate, as the software simply does not exist to monitor all verbal data on all news channels. They've taken some sample data i.e random hours on random days, found a mean average and multiplied by 365. Probably some undergrad did it for them and thought he was very clever, but the result is without merit.
You are incorrect. Monitoring of media is a *big* industry. There's lot's of money to be made in this. Companies subscribe to monitor media for any mention of their company (good, or bad). These figures are as objective, and professional as you can get. Basically, they're true numbers; he really is being deliberately shut out.
Most telling was that she never displayed Clinton and Giuliani figures.
Where did they get the stats @ 1min 32 sec (4,695 mentions vs. 95,005). I'd love to see how "traditional media" was defined. Plus, the numbers seem hyper-acurate for such a huge amount of content that must have been processed...any knowledge on this out there Youtube?
I'm a full Ron Paul supporter but I still think that statistic is a bit wrong. It wasn't $3042 per second. That should be per minute. CNN should take math 101!
Anyone who is disenchanted with the candidates no in the lead is a Ron Paul supporter? LOL! That's like 90% of the country. So people! GET OFF YOUR COUCH! ITS OUR COUNTRY! TAKE IT BACK!
Yes, who are his supporters, Republicans, Democrats and Independents and disenchanted voters. Wow this man crosses all political boundaries because he is the only one running for the Presidency that speaks the truth. Unreal, finally a politician that has integrity. Unreal, finally a politician that really cares about the individual American. Unreal, finally a politician that cares about the truth.
Carol Costello's last line is an absolute classic "His supporters are Republicans, Democrats, Independents, old people, young people: Anybody who is disenchanted with mainstream politics".
Basically, it's decent, honest people against the corrupt elite and their slaves and sycophants.
Thank you CNN for this coverage! I'm going to make some Ron Paul Revolution signs and post them here in Las Vegas. You will be surprised that PEOPLE can change this election!
And how many of the 4k were negative? Designed to marginalize or ridicule? Since November 5th there have been some fierce attacks, but also some of the most positive mainstream messages thus far! Roll on 11/11 when the next bomb drops! And December 15th / 16th when 2 days will make history and give us the sweetest Christmas ever!
We need math people. If Run Paul got $3,042 per second that would be equal to $262,828,800 on 24 hours. If only he could get that much on the next money bomb.
I fear that Fox will bump him from the next Fox debate for their own agenda. ...what has happened to the country that I learned about in school. Where did it go. Was it ever here? Please, e-mail Fox News and Politely ask that they adhere there their "Fair and Balanced" Policy and cover Ron Paul as they should. Please remember to be polite.
I just watched Ron Paul on live TV in a committee meeting with Bernakie (sp?) the head of the Fed Bank. He was brilliant!! and for once other Senators were associating themselves with his remarks..what happened to the laugher?
Ron Paul won 21/41 straw poll (51%)!! Beating all so call top tier candidates in the GOP! After each debate he won the main online polls the TV provide! He raises 7.6 million so far for his 4Q from From individual not big corporation! this is FASTS! He is going to win the GOP nomination!

The biggest thing that Ron Paul can do to make sure of safety is to keep exposing how things are working behind the scenes. These corrupt low lifes hate the limelight and run like cockroaches when you turn the light on them. The more truth the more light. Open government prevents hidden acts.

What we have already done has been tremendous. However it is getting cold. How are we going to campaign during the winter?

Get part time jobs. Donate the full 2300(4600 if married). After that spend money on mainlings and billboards from that part time job.

Wow, they are admitting their lack of coverage. This is awesome. Now if only Faux news will do the same!

I'm not sure what she meant by this. At least RP is getting the coverage he deserves. :)

Fascism already came to America. We're trying (and failing) to shake it off now because it does not suit us economically, anymore.

this just proves how irrelevant MSM is now. thank you, youtube!

I hope she (and/or her producer) doesn't get in trouble for having done that. That sort of thing (evidence of a shut-out) is a very tightly held secret. The cat's out of the bag now; people will be monitoring the monitoring, and demanding equal time. Fair enough, too.
lastnymleft 4 years ago 3
Regards the 'name mention stats' this is clearly not accurate, as the software simply does not exist to monitor all verbal data on all news channels. They've taken some sample data i.e random hours on random days, found a mean average and multiplied by 365. Probably some undergrad did it for them and thought he was very clever, but the result is without merit.
penguinthefisheater 4 years ago
You are incorrect. Monitoring of media is a *big* industry. There's lot's of money to be made in this. Companies subscribe to monitor media for any mention of their company (good, or bad). These figures are as objective, and professional as you can get. Basically, they're true numbers; he really is being deliberately shut out.
Most telling was that she never displayed Clinton and Giuliani figures.
lastnymleft 4 years ago
Forgot to mention the actual company that did it: vidmon(dot)com
lastnymleft 4 years ago
Where did they get the stats @ 1min 32 sec (4,695 mentions vs. 95,005). I'd love to see how "traditional media" was defined. Plus, the numbers seem hyper-acurate for such a huge amount of content that must have been processed...any knowledge on this out there Youtube?
aicheyearaem 4 years ago
You can find the company that produced the figures here: vidmon(dot)com
Traditional media = Mainstream Media (MSM) = CNN/NBC/CBS/ABC etc. That level.
lastnymleft 4 years ago
I'm a full Ron Paul supporter but I still think that statistic is a bit wrong. It wasn't $3042 per second. That should be per minute. CNN should take math 101!
wellyd44 4 years ago
That ad, Voiyour, is for the pre-internet generation to relate to so I think it's perfect. A little mix of the old school and new school.

Anyone who is disenchanted with the candidates no in the lead is a Ron Paul supporter? LOL! That's like 90% of the country. So people! GET OFF YOUR COUCH! ITS OUR COUNTRY! TAKE IT BACK!

Go CNN!!! Shove Ron Paul right up FOX's ass and help us save the world!!!
solartrix 4 years ago
Yes, who are his supporters, Republicans, Democrats and Independents and disenchanted voters. Wow this man crosses all political boundaries because he is the only one running for the Presidency that speaks the truth. Unreal, finally a politician that has integrity. Unreal, finally a politician that really cares about the individual American. Unreal, finally a politician that cares about the truth.
hooverdog1957 4 years ago 7
I totally agree Hooverdog!
Carol Costello's last line is an absolute classic "His supporters are Republicans, Democrats, Independents, old people, young people: Anybody who is disenchanted with mainstream politics".
Basically, it's decent, honest people against the corrupt elite and their slaves and sycophants.
gordonblimey66 4 years ago 3
Is he really running that crappy ad in NH? The [first] one everybody hated on.??
voiyour 4 years ago
LMFAO! CNN can't do basic math. "3,042 dollars per second..." - uhhh, you sure 'bout that Einstein? LMAO!

wow 4k to 95k that seems somewhat intentional. I don't even wanna think about how many times they've mentioned Rudy's evil ass.
terrytube85 4 years ago 3
Ha ha ha ha, yeah man, Rudy is evil!!! No doubt about that... For the good of the world, I hope Ron Paul becomes the next President of the US.
yogagye 4 years ago
