i too am a proud owner of musicman bass's ive got a stingray fretless HH config unlined rosewood neck and ive got a sterling bass..they are consistant easy to set up..ive got the newer slector switches in mine and it makes both of them a joy to play...ive heard the new reflex bass is totally amazing...

I have downloaded several Youtube vids of David Bowie (live) with Gail playing bass and on every one she's superb. However admittedly my favorite is an awesome rendition of 'Heroes' on the Reality Tour. Also there's an awesome version of 'China Girl' (2002) and 'Modern Love' (2003) featuring Gail. The 'Modern Love' version is really upbeat and humming. Gail provides backing vocals on it too. Rock On Gail!

I saw GAD do a solo slot on The Tube in the mid eighties (that will be understandable to the English). She performed "Stop on by" and a raucous crowd was quickly humbled into silence. Magnificent. Anyone else remember it?

I remember it very well - it was stunning and it stuck in my mind and recently, after many years as a singer in a few bands, I put a band together with friends, just to play for the sake of playing and one of the first things I suggested we try was a version of Stop On By based on that very appearance.

I own an Ernie Ball Stingray. They are not over priced. Hooked up to an Ampeg, these things are unbelievable. In my opinion, they sound and play no other bass. I bought mine brand new for 1500 dollars and I feel it was worth every penny. Natural fininsh with a maple neck and fretboard...very sharp and very hard to beat in the looks department as well.

Gail is a fabulous bass player. Just listen to the bass on Tears for Fears' songs such as 'Raoul and the Kings of Spain', 'Brian Wilson Said' and 'Goodnight Song'! Really superb stuff.

I also agree with Gail when she made a point about that bass players and drummers were more in demand more than guitarists, thirty years ago. It is true to this day.

Did she play on "Goodnight Song???" I didn't see her on the album credits for bass, but she's definitely in the video. Goodnight Songs is maybe my favorite song... ever?

Yes, she did! If you didn't see her in the album credits then it could have been because while recording "Elemental" (the album on which "Goodnight Song" is present), possibly Roland or another session musician/producer played the bass. I don't know for sure, though.

Nope. She did not play bass on the record. Just on the Elemental tour. Roland Orzabal and Alan Griffiths played the bass on that record.
