Wow.. no offense but you were kindof bitchy in your description. And if you felt guilty about keeping birds in captivity, wouldn't the logical thing be to LET THEM GO rather than give them to somebody else who will in turn ALSO keep them in captivity?
@fantabulousK try receiving idiotic comments like yours for years. And letting birds go? Are you more of an idiot than you appear? You can NEVER let house pets go free because they can't survive outside, especially if they are not endemic to your area. You are an ass. Good luck with your life.
@believexox94 , that's what happens in the wild but this bird (most likely a pet) and already lives with the human scent. She wouldn't have had her egg in his/her hands if she didn't trust him/her. :)
I know how you feel: I'm also conflicted and torn. I love birds very much and I would love to have some, but at the same time I feel that it's wrong to keep them caged when they should be free and able to fly where-ever they please.
I think it's amazing that you've tamed that little finch so well. Incredible.
Wow, i admire you, u are definitely a bird expert, thanks for showing us this great video. This shows us that there are still few good humans out there. god bless you my friend
LoL cute! I didn't get to see mine when they had eggs cause it happened overnight >.< But it was fun watching them grow up i felt like a good parent lol :')
i used to have a female just like her but we gave her and a few males away because we had too many birds . The chicks kept dying because of too much carpooling (if you can call it that) in the nests.
could u tell me signs of a java finch thats about the lay eggs? i have 3 javas and 2 of them ae puffing up then go back to normal and keep cleaning their selves and they look like theyre about to poo. theyre all healthy and i got them from my moms work and theyve been well taken cared there and she said theres 2 females and 1 male
@Awang1111 Plenty. Too little space, too much company, no proper nest or nesting material, infertility, too much action around the cage, bad food quality..
Female birds lay unfertilized eggs all the time. I had a bunch of female cockatiels and some of them laid eggs without a male being present...it is just something that is in their genes.....I had a couple mating once and the female laid 10 eggs! Large for a cockatiel clutch - only one hatched!
@ChampagneAnne007 Just a small question, so them constantly laying eggs isn't a bad thing? My friend had a cockatiel that wouldn't stop laying eggs, and she eventually died. The vet thinks it's because she kept laying eggs. o,o??
i had zebra finches for a log time,, i use to love their call sounds like a long letter eeeeeee... shes very cute,,and iam surprised she did that. my female finches use to lay a lot of eggs, but they would never trust me,, they would nip at me.. i never really kept these lovely birds locked up.. i would let them go inside of the house for a hour.. you can imagine the mess i had to clean after that... shes lucky to have someone like you..good job...
Your bird obviously trusts you a LOT!!... and birds only trust people who are ALWAYs kind, gentle and trustworthy with them... one mistake and they'd never do this, so congratulations on having such a wonderful relationship with such a timid little creature!!! You ROCK!!!... and your birds are very lucky to have you! :))

I´ve never seen such an awesome situation... but wait. My cat got her babys in my bed and another time she sat in the middle of our living room and then got her babys...
this is a beautiful video,i have 2 pigeons as indoor pets and before i got my male,my hen would lay infertile eggs every 2 months or so just because she thought i was her mate,im happy she trusted me so much and is is amazing to watch.it is vary cool how much your bird trust you :) you must be a great bird owner.
@TheA10pilot I love birds, they are cute, funny, make pretty sounds and most of all they can fly which I can't do... :) I did have an iguana, but we didn't have the room for him (iguanas need huge, huge terrariums and ours was 845 gallons/3200 liters and too small though taking up too much space) so we gave him to a guy who was able to give him a whole room.
