I love Sonny's comping, it's an art in itself! But then it's not just his work, it's the unity of the whole band that makes it swing so nicely.

@hardbop Yes hardbop...and that's an important thing. It's often forgotten by people who focus on soloing that the music is made by GROUPS. Even a great solo can only be great with a superb group supporting.

@heru1966 True, that's one element that makes the best 50s and 60s Jazz. This was not a permanent group like Miles's so that makes it even more amazing. I don't think Jackie and Art ever played together.

I just love Jackie's lines on this tune. So cool, so hip. Then you've got Sonny teasing the rythm behind him. It's all so clever. And of course, there's those Philly licks!
