  • I goodle'd the cheapest dslr on the market I ended up with this camera lmfao XD

  • natslima shel rich pooper

  • any good lenses that fit this camera?

  • Correction here Sir. I own the PENTAX K100D Super. Using a fast Class 4 SD Card, The PENTAX K100D & K100D Super Buffer with Faster SD 2 Gigabyte Card Shoots 6 Frames in Continuous 2.8 Frames/Second NOT your statement of only 5 Frames. I Know its only 1 Frame more at 2.8 Frames/Second but it is THERE when you use a faster SD Card and Fully Clear the Continuous Frame Buffer, it is 6 Frames Continuous Shooting NOT 5 Frames Continuous. Improve and Test your Specifications!!!!Use Rechargeable NiMH

  • @mikemir121 he is really good at photography so don't go saying he's not

  • Looks like Nigel is only good to give reviews and nothing else about photography.

  • I just bought a e350D on eBay :)

I got outbid on this one :)

  • @venyusz01

    How much lol?

  • @kodoku7otaku

£200 with spare batteries, spare CF card in original boxing, etc.

You can buy body only for £150. Refurbished, no scratches, from a shop on eBay.

I`m really happy with my purchase. :)

  • @venyusz01

    Nice :-D

Right now I'm struggling to choose between the Sony A-100, Pentax K100D, Nikon D70 and Canon EOS 350D.

I might just toss all the DSLR stuff out the window and get something cheap and versatile like the Fujifilm HS10 with 30X zoom.

    Decisions...decisions.....

  • @kodoku7otaku

    Hmm...

Well, don`t get me wrong but I wouldn`t buy ultrazoom. After trying them out, the missing features and the lower quality scare me away. If a DSLR is too costy to you than buy a compact DSC-W350 around £100. If you want to shoot videos (I would recommend you instead of a camera) buy a video camera around £110. There are good camcorders and they are FUN to use. Also you can take pictures with it. Seriously.

    I hope it helped

(OK, I wanted to confuse you :)

  • my camera is making a weird clicking sound every time i try to take a picture can someone please help

  • @poopeater123456789 theres something wrong with the shutter motor that flips the mirror up or the autofocus motor...turn autofocus off and see if you can take shots:)

  • Must say that this is a superb review. It's not often that I look at a review of a product I've been using for years and completely agree with the assessment, but the pros and cons are extremely well compiled and are on par with my experience.

    Great work!

  • Hi there I just brought a pentax k100 and I was just wondering how do I turn on the digital screen

    Cheers

  • @jaycurt9596 Please try reading your manual

  • i just sold my fuji s6500 and i was really unsure what to choose between d40 eos 350d and k100d.your review helped me to make a decision. thanks

  • my dad found this photo imaging beast in a porta party in a park no joke

  • Sure. Get a Pentax DSLR 2nd hand for about 200$, dust off your old lenses and have fun :).

But remember that a non-pro DSLR without a full-sized sensor acts as a 1.5x Teleconverter on analog lenses so 50 mm apears like 75 mm.

  • Oh. Thats lame :P

  • It's ok when you consider that even a 4 year old fullframe DSLR costs at least 1000€ :).

I use some old analog lenses too and I love them!.

  • i hear that this camera, can use analog objetives, thats true?? i thinking to bay une

  • Yes, every Pentax DSLR can use analog lenses with Pentax mount, no matter how old they are. Pentax-F, Pentax-FA or newer are recommended because they offer autofocus.

Sigma, Tamron, Tokina etc with Pentax mount are usable as well.

  • Really? I got a bunch of old pentax lenses. If i can find a cheap pentax house i'd get away really cheap :D

  • how?do you get cheap pentax lens???pls

  • Good review

  • I'm thinking of getting the k200d. Would you recommend that camera over this one? Please reply, thanks!

  • In a couple months i will be using my Pentax k100d to shoot a hockey game and need some help about what settings i should use to get the best results.

  • what is the results you want to get?normaly sport mode will set to drive mode and faster shutter to stop the movement.

if you want some movement at sport shoot, set the shutter slower like 1/50, 1/40 try more setting yourself :)

    good luck :)

  • Ive got it set to Shutter priority but i seem to keep having the issue of the picture being to dark or just completely white. guess ill show up early and snap a couple of pics to see what i need. But I want the best stop action I can get.

  • Yes you can.

  • ok, thanks.

  • Can I use my Pentax K-mount FILM lenses on it???

  • Some with an adapter

  • Yes, this camera is not the best model for sports photography, but:

    * other cameras in this class do not have more buttons either

    * the "10-clicks away" menu item can be reached quicker when accessing it from the bottom

    * the camera has an extra LCD display at the top which many other models are missing

    * the camera does support modern USM lenses, but also has a built-in focus motor to support older/classic lenses.

    * the built-in shake reduction saves a lot of money on non SR/VR lenses

  • only the "super" does support usm lenses!

  • why didnt he say something about the battery problem? it sucks having to change or reload your batterys every 2 hours or so..

  • I have this Camera now about one year and I never had such a Problem with this Camera. Maybe you need some better batteries.

  • use energizer E squared lithium batteries they last seven times as long as any oth battery in a camera

  • Don't use alkaline batteries. Use lithium batteries or NiMH accumulators. Mine seem to last forever.

  • use Eneloops!

  • Don't use alkaline batteries, use lithium batteries, or better NiMH accumulators. Mine seem to last forever.

  • got it, like it :)

  • loll it's so true... but anyway I bought an k100d 'cause of a budget problem but it's still a good camera for beginner and it is well balenced. I'm doing a lot of Macro photography and, no problem with bright sun or shadow.

  • Can you please help me? Every time I take a picture of something that is maybe.....2 or 3 feet in front of me, it looks so so so bright! SOME OF THE PICTURE EVEN TURN OUT WHITE! Please help?

  • Perfect

  • good review. thanks. i'll buy it soon

  • this guy makes it sound like a shitty camera, which its not. i testes it out in a store, and i liked it better then the nikon d40

  • what about the d40x?

  • @guitarplayr318 You are so right. This is an excellent camera and I love it.

  • Thank you very much !

  • nice review, thanx
