Correction here Sir. I own the PENTAX K100D Super. Using a fast Class 4 SD Card, The PENTAX K100D & K100D Super Buffer with Faster SD 2 Gigabyte Card Shoots 6 Frames in Continuous 2.8 Frames/Second NOT your statement of only 5 Frames. I Know its only 1 Frame more at 2.8 Frames/Second but it is THERE when you use a faster SD Card and Fully Clear the Continuous Frame Buffer, it is 6 Frames Continuous Shooting NOT 5 Frames Continuous. Improve and Test your Specifications!!!!Use Rechargeable NiMH

Well, don`t get me wrong but I wouldn`t buy ultrazoom. After trying them out, the missing features and the lower quality scare me away. If a DSLR is too costy to you than buy a compact DSC-W350 around £100. If you want to shoot videos (I would recommend you instead of a camera) buy a video camera around £110. There are good camcorders and they are FUN to use. Also you can take pictures with it. Seriously.
@poopeater123456789 theres something wrong with the shutter motor that flips the mirror up or the autofocus motor...turn autofocus off and see if you can take shots:)
Must say that this is a superb review. It's not often that I look at a review of a product I've been using for years and completely agree with the assessment, but the pros and cons are extremely well compiled and are on par with my experience.
Yes, every Pentax DSLR can use analog lenses with Pentax mount, no matter how old they are. Pentax-F, Pentax-FA or newer are recommended because they offer autofocus.
Sigma, Tamron, Tokina etc with Pentax mount are usable as well.
In a couple months i will be using my Pentax k100d to shoot a hockey game and need some help about what settings i should use to get the best results.
Ive got it set to Shutter priority but i seem to keep having the issue of the picture being to dark or just completely white. guess ill show up early and snap a couple of pics to see what i need. But I want the best stop action I can get.
loll it's so true... but anyway I bought an k100d 'cause of a budget problem but it's still a good camera for beginner and it is well balenced. I'm doing a lot of Macro photography and, no problem with bright sun or shadow.
Can you please help me? Every time I take a picture of something that is maybe.....2 or 3 feet in front of me, it looks so so so bright! SOME OF THE PICTURE EVEN TURN OUT WHITE! Please help?
I goodle'd the cheapest dslr on the market I ended up with this camera lmfao XD

@kodoku7otaku
£200 with spare batteries, spare CF card in original boxing, etc.
You can buy body only for £150. Refurbished, no scratches, from a shop on eBay.
I`m really happy with my purchase. :)

Nice :-D
Right now I'm struggling to choose between the Sony A-100, Pentax K100D, Nikon D70 and Canon EOS 350D.
I might just toss all the DSLR stuff out the window and get something cheap and versatile like the Fujifilm HS10 with 30X zoom.
Decisions...decisions.....

Sure. Get a Pentax DSLR 2nd hand for about 200$, dust off your old lenses and have fun :).
But remember that a non-pro DSLR without a full-sized sensor acts as a 1.5x Teleconverter on analog lenses so 50 mm apears like 75 mm.

It's ok when you consider that even a 4 year old fullframe DSLR costs at least 1000€ :).
I use some old analog lenses too and I love them!.

what is the results you want to get?normaly sport mode will set to drive mode and faster shutter to stop the movement.
if you want some movement at sport shoot, set the shutter slower like 1/50, 1/40 try more setting yourself :)
good luck :)

Yes, this camera is not the best model for sports photography, but:
* other cameras in this class do not have more buttons either
* the "10-clicks away" menu item can be reached quicker when accessing it from the bottom
* the camera has an extra LCD display at the top which many other models are missing
* the camera does support modern USM lenses, but also has a built-in focus motor to support older/classic lenses.
* the built-in shake reduction saves a lot of money on non SR/VR lenses

only the "super" does support usm lenses!

use energizer E squared lithium batteries they last seven times as long as any oth battery in a camera
TheFrantz 3 years ago
Don't use alkaline batteries. Use lithium batteries or NiMH accumulators. Mine seem to last forever.
