If you were born in the US then moved to another country and that country doesn't support dual citizenship you loose your US citizenship. If you then move back to the US you have to apply to regain US citizenship and even then you would not be eligible to run for US President. You could however run for the Senate.

When a birth certificate is 'transferred' to Hawaii, Hawaii issues a certification of foreign birth, not a certification of live birth.
Of course the 1961 typewritten original is different from the copies the state releases. The same is true for my BC.

He had to give up his US citizenship when he went to Indonesia and enrolled in school there. Hence he forfeited his US citizenship as Indonesia did not allow US citizenship. If you were born in the US then moved to another country and that country doesn't support dual citizenship you loose your US citizenship. If you then move back to the US you have to apply to regain US citizenship and even then you would not be eligible to run for US President. You could however run for the Senate.

Obama went to Indonesia in the 60's as a child and registered in school as religion Islam. To enroll in school in Indonesia in the 60's you had to become a citizen of Indonesia. When he came back to the US he would had to apply for citizenship as it was lost when he traveled to Indonesia. This would also make him ineligible to run as President of US.

but the LAW doesn't require him to show his BC to the public... he only has to show it to the US State Dept, and that's it... and he will do that before Jan 20th.
To get a drivers license you show your BC to a government official, but NEVER the public, correct? so it's the same process... so relax, you have nothing to worry about.

A COLB is not the long form birth certificate and it is NOT a legal birth certificate.
My father never had a birth certificate, though he was born in the U.S. He was able to obtain a COLB via his army records so he could qualify for MediCare. A COLB does not require very much at all.
He could have been born anywhere and have a COLB. His sister Maya Soetoro who was born in Jakarta, Indonesia has a Hawaiian COLB! It proves nothing.

A COLB has equal legal weight as the long form. The COLB contains the following line at the bottom:
"This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding."
