this is one of my favourite Hungarian Rhapsodies... opening with innocent octaves to herald the arrival of rich chords and stately thematic developments, it quickly grows and flourishes in organic fashion, engaging and captivating us along the way... Arcadi Volodos answers thematic statements masterfully, his technique brightly illuminating a marching landscape... Volodos has the musicianship to do this work full justice, and he does!
