The last line is "Thou Defendant is a snob, he'll reward him from his fob, so we've settled with the job, and a good job too." Always hard to remember that, as I've always been the Defendant and he only sings the last part, and/or has stage business. XD

@wenglishsai I think it might be either that or "from his fob", with a fob pocket being where one would keep valuables (particularly a fob watch) in the Victorian style. I got that off this libretto. If you search for the Trial by Jury libretto on google and go to Bob's digital opera site, they have it written as such there.
@MrCybershade ... I always thought the last line was ''... settled with a BOB (as in olde money, because the Judge threw something to the defendant) and a good job too...''
But I may be wrong, I'm sure all the G&S afficinado's out there will correct me... But I did enjoy that very much, yes indeed I did...
What ho',chaps and ladiesI send you my very best regards from Wales UK .. :0)x
OMG, I remember doing this one in High School, first opera I had ever done. This brings back so many memories. Thank you for sharing. One of these memories is during the first act, the men of the jury was supposed to go left, and I went right. LOL bumped into one of the other guys, and nearly fell off the stage.
I must say, Warlow plays a fantastically incompetent judge. This is such a joy to watch, I only wish it was made available in my DVD region. (region 2)
I don't know their names. They are all members of the Australian Opera. If you go to the link at the of the tune, there should be some information there, including the names of the cast.
that's so fascinating to see a modern day version of the opera. we did this last spring at school and it was so much fun.

Great version- Is the rest of the production on You Tube?
I thought O Joy Unbounded was wonderful- can't understand the objection.

Isn't this a production from the Stratford Festival in Canada that did PInafore and Trail by Jury back to back?
horridlm 1 year ago
@horridlm It was an original production by Opera Australia. Maybe they borrowed it? But it was done back to back with Pinafore.

o joy unbounded is really screwed up, the judge is hilarious though...
Fartastic318 1 year ago
@Fartastic318 What's wrong with it? And the Judge is Anthony Warlow so of course he's brilliant :)
