  • @ViralTank FUCK AUSTRILA

  • i saw 2 of these faggots in my backyard

  • that thing prolly isnt even scary to see in australia

  • Did you record this with a toaster?

  • Can it kill people

  • COME TO AUSTRALIA!

  • amazing beasty

  • f#%king hate theses things put my hand in a hose reel to get a bit of hose out cos the hose was stuck then i noticed my hand was like a cm away from a massive redback female spider, also saw a longer skinny one think that was a male anyways SCARY AS F$%K ran in the house for mortein

  • I heard on tv that this spider was related to the Black Widow and very poisonous. Australia is in some ways has no real connection to N.America. How did this spider get there? Was it in the distant past and Black Widows got to Australia the spider changed colors or has it been since Whites came to Aus. 150 years ago. Or did the Black Widow come from Aus. to N.A.. I have seen B.W.s with red stripes on top of the abdomen running all the way down to its spinnerets.

  • @nor888vast695

I think it might have mutated over the years, with other types of spiders. They may have got over byship or airplane.

I bought a small pocket dictionary of different types of spider, there are loads. Buy one, there are lots of good spider spotting dictionaries in bookstores under the wildlife sections.

  • I've poked these with sticks loads of times and they just try and run off!

  • Best method to get rid of these buggers is axe and a good lighter.

  • Red Back Spider technically is a black widow. The name is different because the read time hourglass is on its back.

  • Yeah, when I lived in Alice Springs I had a man come out and spray my house for bugs. He found inch ants in my house and 8 red backs in my back yard. They are so scary because they are much more dangerous for small children and I have...well...two of those. When I found a huntsman in my bathroom I was more than pleased. :) They eat those bad guys in my yard. Large and scary looking, but friends to us. :D

  • wenever i see a black widow and i go looking for her husband but then i remember...widows are wifes of dead husbands..then i laugh my ass off

  • @jeepinking that is why it is called black widow genius !

  • @jeepinking

redbacks eat their husbands for mating.. =D

    it's called ''sexual cannibalism''

  • one question why mostly all persons that fear of black widows and mostly australians (fear of redbacks) and not from USA, ASIA, south Europe and Africa...black widows are everywhere around the globe different species but same genus...is there any exaggeration of fear particular for BWs... i would be more concerned for sidney funnel web or brown recluse probably brown recluse cause necrotic arachnidism is not funny and takes moths to heal if there are skin compilcations/infections

  • fk i hate spiders.

  • fuckin shitloads of these cunts in my shed

  • @CURTARSE2 i understand you...in slovenia we have species of spiders who are very a like.

  • No you moron they wontgo out of their wa to bite you, but if they are hiding sumwhere where you put your fingers they will bite them.

  • @MrAirgunlover Thats a load of bullshit, my house used to have a nest under it, there were 100s of thousands of these little fuckers, and they do not fucking hesitate to bite.

  • Hi just thought I would post a video response about Red back spiders and how I managed to hold one.

Pleace accept the invitation, I would like people to know they are not as 'bad' as people think...

  • they cant live in daa A/C so if dey in ur house they'll die

  • Oh dear god why is Australia so...poisonous!? D: I heard there's a poisonous TREE in Australia. If you touch it bare skinned, it KILLS YOU! D:

  • Yup in australia herpies is twice as dangerous

  • we lived in queensland for four months, and everything was sweet but we never had any spiders. Then one day my grandfather noticed a big black thing in the corner of the concrete archway one day and my dad went over to investigate and it was a massive nest of baby red back spiders and the big one was spinning a web. She wasnt the biggest redback of all time but it was still scary !

  • most austrailian houses are filled with them people just never notice

  • got bit by one 2nd jan 2009 very painful didnt need anti dote just ice and pain killers Ive lived in Australia for almost two years and it finally got me but fumigated outside area around the home with insecticide and all is sweet again Just didnt like it sat on my poor little finger whilst i was sewing in the sun the culprit red back is now deceased lol :D

  • kill it!

  • got a few around my garden......

    and on my car......

    and around the house......

    There friken everywere!!!!!!!!

you know what time it is

    its HAMMER TIME!!!!!

  • lol

  • My dad caught a dead red back spider in the hotel's room.

  • Kinda looks like an black widow but a lot bigger

  • i eat spiders when im bored

  • in the balls

  • i was joking you idiot.

  • Now, do these appear in Connecticut?

  • THATS A FUCKING BLACK WIDOW

  • a red back is infact a lactrodes/black widow

  • Christ it's the same goddamn thing yo retard a balck widow is the same only it doesnt have the red markings on it's back...

  • well then its not the same RETARD

  • AHahah thats funny.

google it. They are two different spider from the same family... black widow is suppose to be a little bit more poisonous and of course the red thing on the redbacks back is different to the black widow.

  • Woops. ON my comment the 'redback' is suppose to be a little bit more poisonous

  • yes same familly red back black widow same creepy shit

  • is it me or did someone throw a bunch of poisonous animals in australia to be a quarantined island.... everything poisonous lives there rofl

  • black widows don't often kill people, especially adults.

  • a redback is only found in australia and its not that easy for a redback to kill a human because if u get bitten it gets infected.

  • they are in new zealand aswell

  • so what is the difference between a black widow and a red back? i mean both can kill humans right?

  • differences are the collores on the back. also a red back spider can be brown. and killing people... there you've to be allergyic or being a small child. usually a bite hurts like hell and paralizes this body part. but red backs are a bit more poisenous than black widows. and you can find them everywhere. actually many australians pay no attention to them. but you shouldn't disturb there webs.

  • is it a black widow?

  • no redback.

  • redbacks are like black widows

  • Except that Redbacks don't have an hourglass on their abdomen.

  • Yes they do ... on the underside.

  • this is why i am afraid to go visit my grandma in australia...

  • i live in western australia and i see a few

    but usually in the summer

there on roofs of verandas or hanging down from something

    but dont worry about them

with the medicine around your not likely to die from a bite

maybe if your allergic and dont get treated right away.

but u wouldnt no your allergic until your bitten by one.

  • there not really in tassie much i only seen like 3 or four but fuck they are sceary way they walk on the roof and drop down lol

  • My dad got bit by one of these, he said it felt like his stomach was on fire.

  • This ones a fertile female.

  • dyou get them in nz?

  • arent those things like really deadly?

  • Unlikely to die from the bite, unlikely to get bitten too, their fangs aren't that large see.

They have neurotoxic venom so id get some anti venom into me if I ever got bitten as comas and repertory failure are possible effects.

    Nobody has died since 1950~

  • oh thanx for the info

i always thought that these things could kill you with one bite?

    guess i was wrong

    lol

  • they can

but its unlikely anymore with the facilities in hospitals and medicine and anti venoms around.

    it would hurt like hell

but you could die if u were allergic

  • thanks for the info. im going to australia and i heard that the spiders are huge and im terrified of spiders. but thanks sooo much for the tips =)

  • these things plauge docks in osaka they came in a container from Australia and began 2 multiply out of control. hope u enjoy some Australian culture japan!

  • In rural NSW - Australia those are fucking everywhere.

  • it's not because I'm scared that they bite me but I think they are just creepy and ugly:(

  • i heard the funnel web is agressif

  • how often can you see that in sydney or melbourne? because i want to live there but after this video i dont

  • im from melbourne and you really have to look for them to find them. we dont get natural disasters in oz apart from drought and the odd cyclone but we have some nasty wildlife!

  • Mate, dont worry. This video shouldnt put u off. If i remember correctly, a person hasnt died from a redback spider bite since 1951 and the person who died, was in the Northern Territory, with no facilities around.Melbourne and Sydney would probably have the best treatment facilities in Australia, for this extremely unlikely event

  • I live in Sydney, you don't see these very often, just to help convince you more. Depends where abouts you live within Sydney as well, of course. However I do live in Balmain and I STILL get massive Huntsmans, but at least they're moreorless hamrless.

  • I'm originally from the country, and red backs aren't really anything to worry about. They are usually around, but prefer dark and moist places and usually don't come inside houses. I'd be more worried about the Funnel web than a red back. But even then if you're in the city you won't die.

  • well you also have to worry about the snakes ...lol

  • I got bitten on the jugular by one of these last year. I couldnt feel anything for about half an hour but by the time I got to hospital it felt like all of my bones were welded together and I was writhing in agony for about 20 minutes before they gave me the anti-venom.

  • How the hell did you get bitten on the jugular? I ain't scared of bloody spiders, but now you're making me paranoid. A few years back when I used to be a swimming instructor, I thought I'd been bitten in the back of my throat- I'd left a coffee at the end of my lane, and finished it's contents an hour later to discover a nasty sting in my throat: stung by a wasp. But it wasn't that bad. Next day, symptoms were gone. Luckily no allergy.

  • red backs are really scary im 11 years old and evry time i see one i flame it with fly spray and a lighter...with my dads guidance of course lol

  • BLOODY hELL. Scared the life out of me!

  • There not that bad at all there hasnt been a reported death in a long time and they have an anti venom now but if a bite is unchecked u can lose a limb, they ar very placid an not even slightly aggressive, the ones u have too worry about in Australia are the funnel web there angry! and poisonus

  • 13 reported deaths true they arnt aggressive nobody has died for a while but they are small and you dont notice them until theyve bitten you and you are more likely to notice a funnel web

  • @amplified1983 Oh there not so bad then. It's just a limb that you might loose that's all.

  • i hate redback spiders there 2 scary

  • shoot it lol

  • these spiders are the most dangerous spiders in the world one bite can kill you with a couple of minutes if ya dont belive me just look it up on google

  • there not the most dangerous, our effing funnels webs are!

  • red backs are easy to kill, just use mortein..it kills them pretty instead, but watch as they die to make sure. flaming it, its also another way but not highly recommended as u dont wanna burn ur house down unexpectedly. they dont bite instantly unless disturbed. best way..just use mortein, seriously it works mate!

  • i saw a red back yesterday morning. should i kill it or leave it alone. because i work out in my garage, i dont wanna get bitten.

  • lol sorry wish i could help, but i dont know much about these critters. maybe call those people that handle these things. i dont know i dont get these spiders where i live. i'm sorry

  • nah they aint that bad unless you like grabbed one and let it gnaw into your jugular. if u get bitten on the leg or sommat hurts like hell but its not heaps dangerous only to small kids

  • black widow black widow black wido black widow brown recluse funnel web bannana boat spiders fuck you up

  • its not 5 mins thats if u get rly scare with hearlt oumping like 150 a min just slowy walk to a hospital but not to slo0w and it depends wear they bite u i got bit in leg and i idint fell sick or ne thung untill lvl 45 mins then i got to hosp 5 mins after

  • The redback can kill you with one bite, but not in five minutes. It is found mostly in Eastern Australia. They dont like houses. They tend to live in wood piles, garages, sheds & ect.

The most dangerous Australian spider is the Funnel-Web. They tend to enter houses and hide in dark, damp places.

  • It's just the Sydney Funnel-Web that is dangerous. The one sin Melbourne can just go outside again.

  • thx for ur nice comment and you scerad me now hahahahah

  • it was black leski

  • i believ in karma, u kill a spider it will get u back. whenver i see spiders in my room i leave it alone. It kills the insects for me and keeps cockroaches outa myt room anyway.

  • lol fuck that... kill al the cunts. they cant ALL kill u back.

  • lol you're brave, i know that's the good thing with spiders, they're good with bugs. but i'm terrified of them, if i see a spider it has to go any bug i see, except for butterflies, ladybugs, and fishflies.

  • to tell u the truth, i know this sounds weird, no one believes me, but i heard a spider crying. i hadnt been drinking, dont take drugs, and i certaintly wasnt dreaming. i walked right up to it and heard crying, the sound a little kid makes.

  • Wow - these are scary and fascinating at the same time.

  • Hi All: a single red back will not kill you but bites by more than one can (NOT IN 5 MIN and only if not treated promptly). Only female attacks when you fk around with her.

  • Beautiful

  • do these spiders live everywhere in australia? Or just certain places?

  • they tend to hide in beds!!!!! when you least except it they will bite the shit out of you. lol only joking

  • lol i was getting nervouse there, i would have to keep checking the bedm actully have someone else check it for me, i'd be too chicken to look. ^_^ lol

  • nah man theyre in every fuckin house, and their poison makes the surrounding veins bright red and extreemly itchy

  • they are the MOST DANGEROUS spiders in AUSTRALIA OF COURSE THEY CAN KILL YOU, THEIR BITE CAN KILL YOU IN 5 MINUTES IF NOT TREATED!

  • Its not that dangerous as the venom is fairly slow acting, also in response to the comment that said it look big, the female (which is pictured) abdomen only gets to about 7mm long

  • A good indication that you have been bitten by one of these fuckers is that you will sweat around the bite site. Did anyone else hear a while ago that the silly fucks in Long bay were breeding the Redbacks in the cells and letting them bite them to get a high out of it????? The professors said that it would do nothing but cause serious pain. Stupid bastards. lol anyway.

  • I don't believe that. The bites can be fatal, and it is extremely dangerous to get bitten by one of them.

  • wonderful. I love spiders. how many of these do you see around your place?

  • holy crap thats a massive redback, we only get little tiny ones around our house...just as well...

  • it looks like a giant version of the black widow spiders we have here in california

  • They are actually very slightly smaller than Black Widows. Maybe it is the camera angle that gives an incorrect impression of size.

  • The most dangerous spider in the world is the Sydney funnel web

  • And the most pissed off

  • i always thought it was the black widow that was the most high dangerous. lol

  • It's probably a species of black widow, closely related but I highly doubt it's the most dangerous but probably life threatening none the less under most circumstances.

  • i gotten by one of these yesterday I NEARLY DIED. it is the worst pain ive ever felt in my life.

  • The Australian Redback spider is a close relative to the South American Black Widow Spider.

Redbacks are one of the most dangerous spiders in the world.

To the best of my knowledge these spiders are only beaten by The African Wandering Spider and the Fiddle Spider for thier venom Toxity.

If you get bitten by a redback you MUST seek medical attention. The affects of its venom may not show for days after the bite.

  • i know...i was rushed to hospital...this happened on saturday...today's tuesday n i still feel like crap.

  • I'd rather be bitten by a widow spider than a recluse. You'll be hurting badly for several days, but at least your flesh doesn't rot.

  • Is the redback's venom worse than that of the black widow?

  • yes

  • get to da chopper!!
