  • @leaualorin what you must have done is to turn the potentiometer all the way so the resistance was almost 0 ohms, which shorted out the chip. LOL, I have done this foolishly a few times, xD

  • guys if you want to build something . READ THE DATASHEET . there's always a little test circuit you can use to build whatever you want . LM317 LM337 lm338k

  • @petereish Is this the "LM317K" or the "LM317T" regulator you are using? Because in the shops they have two kinds, the former is more expensive.

  • @meade9166 LM317T is in TO-220 case, LM317K is in TO-3 case and current is 1.5A for both of them
