What's amazing? I get the impression that the person shooting the video actually thinks the screen is shaped like that. IT'S A REGULAR FLAT SCREEN TV (rectangular) with plastic over it running some custom linux script.

I think you're making quite an assumption that the person shooting this thinks the screen is warped like that. And anyway, regardless, the point of it is that it LOOKS like it's been warped ridiculously. Yes, you're right, it's almost certainly a widescreen monitor with a computer making it look off like that, but the visual effect is really cool, it LOOKS like a melted ipod. It's a pretty cool piece of artwork. That said, I'm not shelling out $35,000 for it.
