@chbedok Captain America, if I recall, was a character created during the war and stood for American ideals and as the hero that fought American enemies like the Nazis, Japanese, etc. So he was more than just a comic book character to a lot of peope, especially the younger generation of that era. He effectively became a great propaganda tool for the US government during the war. IMO, that's what makes the character such an icon.

Wolverine is a great fighter but Rodgers would win in the end because hes a master of battle tactics not just a great fighter and although Logan can heal the cap would most likely find a way around that and also I don't think wolverine is really stronger thats not his power were the cap has near superhuman power.

Wolverine wouldn't be able to kill spider-man unless he got in a surprise shot. Spider-man is very much too fast and too strong for wolverine.

An adamantium skeleton + regeneration makes him indestructible, but spidey doesn't have to destroy him.

I always thought that Captain America would win. He's a much more focused fighter than Wolverine who, though knowing every form of hand to hand known to man, just doesn't have the mental fortitude or tactical brilliance Cap has. It would be an edge of your seat fight, but Captain America has the ever so slight advantage. Having a Vibranium/Steel alloy shield is nice.

Ultimate Cap has the adamantium shield. 616 (original) Cap (to whom I was referring) has the vibranium steel shield, which was proven in the comics to be stronger than adamantium. Wolvie's claws won't pierce it (Captain America Annual #8).
