Installing Ubuntu 8.04 in 10 Minutes

whenever i put the boot disk in and try and instal it doesn't bring me to that installtion screen, instead it leaves me at the command prompt and asks me to use sudo for commands. I've tried several times and even checked for CD defects and everything is showing up fine, seriously WTF?!?!

well i did get it to work it seems like we might want to try the alternate disc it works but I would reccomend installing it on an extra hardrive if your not fimiliar with partitioning

I got it to work, not Hardy Heron, but the previous one, Gutsy Gibbon, I then updated through the "Update Manager".

oh, gee, it's another cd, seems to me like it's just xp, service pack 3, i like to play around with this on my pc, but truthfully, it is not for me, cause ubuntu's free, looks real nice on my new tv, lcd, and ubuntu's wee, takes no space on my hdd, it's six double nine MB, fits on one cd, and the vista thing takes two dvds, i mean honestly, if you wanna go clever pick a linux see
