  • cada video que veo y este chino aparece en todos...chino marica!!!!!

  • would'nt the 50mm 1.4 be better because of the better blown dof??

  • Johnny Rotten in Hong Kong 7:17

  • one point egg?

  • "Uhhhh... you see what's the point of pretending to be somebody else? is just like lenses, 1.8 & 1.4 you can compare all you like but you buy it for different purposes don't you? You see the thing is... if you really have to have the best lens, then you never be happy." - TRUE!

    Thumbs Up For Kai!

  • I would like to know your opinion about the Nikon 50mm F/1.4G vs. Nikon 35 mm 1.8G.

I have heard that both are very good and the bokeh are very similar.

Thanks for your very interesting videos.

  • @Dominikan02 are you talking about the 50mm f1.4 in the video against Nikon's 35mm f1.8 DX lens?

If so, the 35mm DX is pretty much the same as the 50mm f1.8 (52.5 with a 1.5x crop sensor) in real world use (it is very good, I have it on my D7000 most of the time). So it compares about the same as what this video shows with the 50mm f1.4 v f1.8.

I shoot it at f2, 2.8 and 3.2 a whole lot on a D7000, love it for portrait and low light stuff.

  • @geoff972 Thanks for the information and I am ordering the Nikon 35 mm F/1.8, so I am going to use it with my Nikon D90 and D40.

I was not sure about the 50mm F/1.8 and the 35mm F1.8 because I have heard good things about both.

  • @Dominikan02 You will love this lens on those bodies. You will hardly ever take it off your camera, its just that good! When you add in the fact that you can get it new for under $200...its one of the best lenses for a crop sensor (dx) there is!

  • i my bike... bikeh!

  • I absolutely loved the ending. Oh, and... BOKEH!!

  • Yeah. I only subscribed because of sh*t Kai says. lol

  • LOL! Gold

  • Alamby looks good in glasses

  • I own both 50 1.4g is much slower to focus, rest is better

  • Am I the only one drooling hearing this guy say BOKEHLICIOUS? :D

  • what abat one pon egg!

  • Oh yeah! This is the video I fell in love with Alamby.

  • Nice try ! I Love It !!!!

  • I love you HK version of English, it reminds me of all my HK friends from the 90s. LOL

  • Lol isn't that a s'pore accent??

  • 1.4g all the way

  • good review. hard facts, arguments worded in diplomatic terms. just pleasant and useful. thank you sir !

  • Great review as always. I just got the 1.8 and I was wondering if I should have got the 1.4 .. I'm going to stick with 1.8 and put my money towards some other lens. Or better yet a FX body.

  • Lol I've been watching too many of these vids and am now saying bokehlicous far too much!!

  • i love you!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • Gotta love this guy's indestructible confidence- check out the opening pose!

  • Kai: "nice tits"

    LOL at the end!!

  • Lol, great vids, good sense of humour...!! Oh anyone know what bag Kai uses?

  • @Jamosutube billingham hadley. i think the medium sized? someone correct me if I'm wrong haha

  • uooohhhhh but it is okay good. :D

  • After watching maybe 2 of your other videos wondering why your talking with an English accent then watching this one.........hilarious.

  • cute girl friend !

  • what camera is he using in this video plz respond guys

  • @FunnySkatersPuga Nikon D700.

  • what on earth that ''LAH'' means?

  • @crazyasspusshole its a slang. sentence fillers kind of thing hahaha

  • ok, good

  • don't laugh-that's not funny, don't move- that's not a movie.

  • thumbs up if you say Bokeh! when you take a good photo!

  • BIKEH

  • So basically the 1.8 is more versatile (better performing all around) whereas the 1.4 really has the low light advantage. Guess it depends what you wanna shoot. :)

  • I like his sense of humour .

One point egg ha ha ha.

Its good having some distance and have a laugh

  • Just awesome. Bikeh!

  • haha asians do walk like that normally at least the ones i know do lol

  • @Enj01 no, Japanese people don't walk like that. i think only hongkong people do.

  • is the 24-70mm f.2.8 lens sharper then the 50mm 1.4 or 1.8?

  • @MeineKleineWaffe the 1.8G is sharper than the 1.4G, the 24-70 is a different lens and is not as sharp but it corrects ghosting better than the other 2 since it has a nano crystal coat

  • he's trying so hard to sound like Yan from Yan Can Cook

  • which lens would you choose for choose for video? 1.8 or 1.4

  • what do y mean "a little bit more" from a $200 1.8G lens to approximately $500 of this one?

  • Awww shit, Kai is funny. I know his British accent is real, but his impersonation of a Hong Kong accent is just simply hilarious. Well done team! I've watched it three times now

  • @chuichiutada well, to be honest I can't stand the guy... he is just a clown who thinks everything he says is soooo funny... there is nothing more pathetic than someone believing he is what he shall never be, I mean, not even the Beatles pretended to have the "British accent" this retarded pretends to have...

  • Comment removed

  • @alexmottram07 he's not pretending to have a british accent. Is it so far fetched that he grew up in england and went to hong kong for work like so many asians and other non-english background people. Seriously have you been living under a rock.

  • But the 1.8G is pretty much the better option and depending on the camera you're using you can up the iso to compensate

  • WOW 1.4G VERY NICE...but price not SO NICE...NO ASPHERICAL EEEELLLLLEEEEMENT

  • BIKEH lah!

  • beli good x)

  • lets do it. lah.

  • ohto focuhs okay fas

  • yay! goosebumps had goosebumps there haha lol

  • Bikeh :D

  • lol

  • been to Hong Kong so many times, never heard one sounding so essentially British...

  • still having 50mm1.8D, no any problem up to date

if decided to upgrade i'll grab 1.8G..BTW, i shoot with D700

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahhahahaha

  • LoL funny 'til the last part.... :)

    nice tits! xD

  • Hey I like your british! It's nice to listen to and I definitely remember more :))

  • I MY BIKE! BIKEH!

  • Do you think it's worth upgrading from a f/1.8 to a f /1.4?

  • he sound ike bruce lee

  • you have the pictures (or titles) inverted at 1:40

    :o)

  • @Alexvideoclip never mind, I understand what you did now

    ;o)

  • you are awesome man!!!!!!

  • Hows the 50mm 1.8 on the d5100?

  • @TheCharientism watch?v=yIIzDoaTpfs

  • This video was dubbed by Lok C

  • DigitalRevCom, when you shoot do you shoot in Aperture Priority, scene mode, and/or Manual? I notice that the aperture is usually fixed at a setting and everything else changes. Thank you for insight. I recently bought a Nikon D7000 w/18-200mm VRII lens.

  • @turbokat95 pretty sure manual. The aperture is set at its widest usually to show the difference of 1.8 and 1.4.

  • @xximanoobxx: I'm talking about the random shots as he's walking around the street during his "street photography." one picture will be at f/1.8 and his 2nd shot will be at f/5.6...

  • @turbokat95 How are you finding the 18-200mm? I had to sell mine...

  • @leo140485 I am not having any issues with it. In fact for my first lens I love it. I've read a lot of great reviews on it and it really does eliminate the need to carry around a bunch of lenses. 18-200mm gives me the ability to capture a lot of picture while enabling to zoom in, focus, and shoot in a rather quick moments time/notice. I utilize zoom a lot b/c I don't like to crowd people's space and I like to capture "natural" pictures. I do intend to get a 50mm 1.4G or 1.8G for portraits.

  • @turbokat95 The issue I had was as soon as you zoom off the 18mm mark, your aperture goes up! Then when you zoom out to it's longest length, you lose too much light... This is when I was doing Indoor events... I really do see the need now for a 70-200 f2.8...

Yeah you can always bump up the ISO, but you tend to enter into the grain zone... Just ordered myself a 17-50mm Sigma as a replacement, hasn't got the reach, but the constant 2.8 is lovely...

  • @leo140485 Yeah, I would love to have a 70-200mm f/2,8 but they are expensive. I mostly do outdoor shooting with the zoom. I got the D7000 so bumping up the ISO is really nice b/c ISO rocks on that camera.

  • 0:57 i bursted out laughing.

  • Please compare Nikon 50mm 1.8G and Sigma 50mm 1.4

  • ED element won't change anyting under 135mm

  • Is it d90 in his hands or d7000? I cant tell cause my d90 is in body armor 24/7

  • @krasav4ik82

    its d700..full frame camera

  • ohh shit its falling 1:16

  • i luv it!

  • Bikeh - bikeh very good la! Classic !!!

  • Kai is usually so fast on the release. But with Alamby in his viewfinder, he slowed wayyyy wayyyy down. Take your time on that shot Kai. Take your time.

  • OhMyGOD.... lol... this Kai is just way too much.

This guy should have his own comedy show.

  • Turn on CC and you get gems like: "...or yes lower ethnicity white between these two fifty millimeter g lenses, david more less the same"

  • "Foookus is..... ooook fast!"

  • 1:06 - the D700... soo close to the table edge! *shudders*

  • Spent all my time trying to decipher what you were saying. Annoying.

  • @AxCYeR looks like a Billingham Hadley $200

  • I see kai Rocking them Jesus Slippers...

  • The more I hear this guy talk, the more I realize he is an asian Jeremy Clarkson. Not because of his accent, but more so because of his speech pattern. I am just waiting for him to go "... In the world"

  • haha couldn't stop laughing :)

    Keep the video's coming

  • hi, i want to buy a lens for my nikon D7000 but im confused what to choose between AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G & AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G whats better & why? thanks

  • @bitoy2223 I assume you have the 18-105 since you have a D7000. There is a pretty substantial difference between 35mm and 50mm if you are shooting indoors. Take your 18-105 and set it at 35mm and then 50mm and see if 50mm will work for you. Many people find it too "tight" for indoor shots of kids (if that applies to you).

  • @kenrdid thanks a lot

  • oh shit.... this is fucked up..

  • Why are you wearing Alamby's shorts? :P

  • ur bad at chinese accent xD cant beat LOC C :P

  • i thought it isnt HK english, it is singlish! HKers simply dont speak english at all! :P

  • hey keep in mind that the 1.8 is a dx lens so when shooting it on an fx body (d700 in the vid) its gonna be sharper in the middle because it's using primarily the sweet spot on the sensor.

  • @rashadpleasant 50mm af-s 1.8 is an FX lens. The centre sharpness occurs if you use an FX lens on a DX body not the other way around.

  • not bad review, i bought both 1.4G & 1.8G.

1.4G for video, better quicker manual focus and more light. I shoot night and indoor with all 1.4 lens and 1.8 as a spare for normal. if you need to have one 50mm, i would just go for 1.4G because for $200 or more, you get more versatile lens and 9 blades instead of 7 which produces much better bokeh and better suited for video manual focus.

  • i bought the 1.8G!

  • What's going on here, Nikon strap on a Nikon camera. Who stuffed up this time, they're supposed to use Canon straps on Nikon cameras.

  • really heavy CA on the 1.4G wide open

  • Let's try the bokeh la, see if its ok la

  • ugly gay mthrfkcr

  • Hhaha sounds like Lok

  • "OH VELYGUT UAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH" LLLLLOOOOOOLLLLLL

  • What is the background music?

  • Autofocus OK FAST loooool

  • Can you guys do a review/comparison for Nikon's 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8?

  • he sounded both racist and funny, lol

  • I prefer the Hong Kong-version of you, Kai.

  • Alamby has such hipster glasses. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • next time, tell LOK to do the ENGLISH accent xD

  • alamby so fresh... :)

  • Another LOL, are you imitating Lok?

  • Singlish is the same with Honglish? LOL
