  • Absolutely amazing

  • @ccgrc4 hmm that's interesting.. u like drake and james blake? i think drake was how i found out about james blake

  • wtf is this i mean i enjoy music but this is just some random sounds kinda stuff a hipster likes

  • @jadplaya None of the sounds James uses are random. They are all chosen for a specific reason and placed where they are for a reason. These random sounds you say you hear make the beat, you see; there is an actual drummer making those noises on an electric drum set, or whatever it's called. As for the vocals on this track, yes I can see how that just sounds like random noises. Calling music out for being hipster is quite hypocritical.

  • @napalmocean i like limit to your love and his earlier dubstep/garage style music but this has not structure to it thats why it sounds like random noises to be.

  • @jadplaya It has structure, you just obviously do not hear it.

  • @jadplaya well thats what it makes so special :D haha

  • Either half of these people are trolling hard as fuck, or are high as fuck. I can't get into this....at all. :(

  • @tylerwisniewski your mind is closed my friend, open it

  • When a genre, song or artist creates confusion, hate, love, among the people to his music, it meens hes doing it right.

  • Thank god for James Blake, Drake, and Azad Right

  • Thumbs up if incredibly good taste in music brought you here.

  • Where the fuck is the summer and the jays?

  • i listen to a lot of music. and for every kind of music, i can tell u why i like it, wat part of the songs i like. for this, i cant. all i know is that it's sick and it makes my heart race. toke up to this shit

  • damn this guy is the truth, It's been a long time since I heard someone this promising.

  • One steak, well done, with fries please.

  • You got me on the edge of my seat! Never formulaic, always on point!

  • I should be out at 3 parties and then some secret illegal club but my parents are kicking me out.

Fuck them, I'm glad. I get to sit here listening to this, wearing 3 jumpers and wishing it was raining.

  • A Raw talent.

One of my fav newcomers on the UK scene.

Him and Jamie Woon, Ghost Poet, The XX, AllFlaws

  • I used to listen to this shit when I was doing a ton of drugs and shit was getting crazy. This is the only thing I carried out of it. This dude is one of my favorites artists, and inspires me to make my own shit.

  • meh.

  • don't you think i do

  • :)

  • I like it.

  • bitch

  • Its like if OFWGKTA where to meet MGMT

  • @augustesk8 how is this anything like odd future

  • @augustesk8 No, and no. More like if Burial met Four Tet or something.

  • @platinumdynamite never heard of em ill look into that

but you cant say there there could be some similarity between the two

  • @platinumdynamite that already happened by the way....a while ago.

  • @Impression08 Yeah, Moth is a great track.

  • There's hidden symmetry in this. You just have to find it.

  • this's shit

  • there are lots of interesting rhythms in this. the tempo doesn't have to be that prominant, i really like that in this song. it makes it interesting

  • A piece of Art indeed.

  • hipster music

  • ...actually there is a rhythm to this.

  • arguments arguments arguments!

  • not all electronic music is "dance music." It doesn't necessarily have to have a kickin beat. It's made for listening

  • Is this a song? I made better music the first time I hit a keyboard (and I was 6 at that time)

I like 'Limit to your love' but this is BS without a rythm

  • @MVC7CVM Damn, why do people also want to argue on the internet.. I mean, you listen to this->notice that you don't like it -> Gtfo again. And please don't put a step in between with 'Write a comment about how much this song sucks' I mean, who cares what you think about the song. If you don't like it then go on and listen to music that you do like.

  • @immetje9 Its just my oppinion, If you cant tell your oppinion, then what is the comment box for? It is/was never my intension to upset any of you.

  • @MVC7CVM Your opinion is that it's bad. Give good reasons why you think the song is bad and not some overdone critique about you being able to do better when you were 6 years old.

And you don't give your opinion, you give an opinion by saying: "I think this song is BS without a rhythm"

  • @immetje9 Perhaps you didn't notice: whenever someone posts a comment his/her username is displayed under the comment ... meaning it's THEIR oppinion

  • @MVC7CVM agreed

  • @MVC7CVM There are two kinds of rhythms: regular rhythm and irregular rhythm.

  • I really can't stop listening to this

  • this is really cool. I think I'll hear it again :) it's quite refreshing

  • THIS IS CRAZY!!!!

  • "This is next level shit"

no - it's just another level of shit.

  • So unusual, but yet still so good!!

  • This is next level shit...

  • Jeez I am 40+ and I love James Blake music pure genius

this one a bit random and not as good as limit but not eveeryones music is always good he is still at the development stages. Early Moby had similar sounds

  • Jeez I am 40+ and I love James Blake music pure genius

  • this.. is.. sooo.. fucking ridiculous amazing.

  • this song is sick. things dont need to be expressed by words nor does it need to be a new genre for it to be good. all your work is grand.

  • @MonkeyshineTV That would be great, except that 2005 is nowhere near the first decades of the past century. I was pointing out how ridiculous the comment's nature was, not arguing that better or similar songs haven't been created.

  • my brother was checkin this ....my bro is on some weirdo shit lol....and he doesnt smoke lol...

  • I liked limit to your love, but this is just random rythmless bullshit imo. A song is good when i don't have to be high as a kite to let it comfort me.

  • @guusknelissen Try - Wilhelm Scream and Tell her safe.

  • @sackmajik heard da scream one on da xm...im lifted right now so i was trippin.... it took me there. this one is something else. THis hear my friends, is talent, Musical Art! Embrace it....now lift....yea, knowaimtalkbout??!!!

  • @guusknelissen It does indeed seem as though it is without a rhythm, but this song actually does hold a pretty solid tempo of about 134-135 bpm throughout its entirety.

  • Wow this is totally opposite of his "Limit to Your Love", but still nice.

  • @Dresen92 There aren't that much differances, are there? It's only without a voice, but also with a lot of sillences. But it is indeed still nice!

  • now thats hot

  • yes. i love this. who cares what other people think!! just enjoy it, dont let anyone else wreck it for you!

  • what kind of music is this?? like it!

  • @3427014 Music of the heavens?

  • @3427014 Its called minimal.

  • @seilonas umm suckout you dont deserve to listen to this and how the fuck can you compare this to shitty post modern art? Nothing like that your ears dont work go die in a hole

  • rare ♥ beautiful ♥

  • finally! some good music where i can kick back and smoke a blunt too!

  • @Coda4D EXACTLY!

  • @Coda4D omg your the coolest guy ever..

  • @Coda4D dear god....

  • @Coda4D a...james blunt?

  • @odelay2810 hahaha hilarious ! :D

  • @odelay2810 James blake is no james blunt...if you think so...you don't understand Blake's profession. He's actually composing real music.

  • @222DiViNe222 I'm sorry you didn't understand the joke.

  • @Coda4D oh ur cool. u smoke pot. share it with everyone pls

  • @DerrikRose1991 im afraid comments like that arent about sharing the fact you do it with everyone. its about making it clear to everyone how many people actually smoke weed and thus show that it needs to be realized finally.

thats at least what it is for me.

  • I cant believe I let him slip by me! Thanks Mixmag!!!!!!

  • so stoked i found this.. it's like nothing else i have ever heard

  • the reason this is "pretentious" is someone put thought into it.

  • the reason you don't get this music is you're stupid.

  • this is truly horrible..

  • @seilonas Super cool opinion bro.

  • @jumaxe i'm sorry.. didn't mean to hurt anyone, but i don't get this pretentious music.. it reminds me of post modern art, that no ones gets, but still says it's amazing... kind of like "The Emperor's New Clothes"..

  • @seilonas you're horrible

  • he is on another level!!

  • So randon, so sample-y, so smooth bass, sounds massive on 1.5KW in my motor. Slammin!!! Tnx to Lou-Lou for pointing this dude out ;-)

  • Well, I kinda like this music, because its original, different and weird in a good way.

At least he's better than KE$HA, and all the other douchebags :)

    x

  • this song gives me shivers O.O

  • he will be the rising star of 2011

  • WOW I LOVE HIS MUSIC

  • also ich sehe darth vader, en totenkopf und einstein, wenn ich noch weiter rauche bekomm ich MF doom und bob marley hin!!! FETTES LIED XD

  • this dudes a genius, I'm so glad we still have labels that push artists like this. Long live music!

  • it's ART, not a genre

  • weird....i like :)

  • I always wondered where music would go in the future after house, jazz, rock etc. now I know. Very technical

  • i'm not alt enough 2 understand this

  • I could of produced this its not art just because its different you mugs

  • @benjanibarmyarmy then why didn't you produce it? you could've been making a lot of money right now. It is art in the sense that somebody created it before anyone else did, only time will tell how good of art it is.

  • @benjanibarmyarmy BUT YOU DIDN'T and you should've :p

  • I'd say this is idm or just very abstract garage. This hasn't got any low end so it's not really dubstep at all.

  • what the hell is this?

  • @silverescalante Obviously something you haven't heard before

  • @silverescalante magic.

  • @987398352526 nice username mr bot

  • wtf is this

  • @hoptop77 indeed i was also like wtf is this? :p

it ain't metal that's fr sure

  • I love music that makes me want to punch a baby in the face after listening to it.....

  • Why is it, that when people come across something new they automatically have to slam it? Why can't people just take the time to embrace the beauty in things and accept that just because it's different it is still a work of art?

  • @DaniBabe7.. its called narrowminded

  • @DaniBabe7 they are called "hipsters"

  • @BusyOlfo what? hipsters love this shit. They prey on different.

  • @BusyOlfo hipsters are the people that love this?

  • @BusyOlfo hipsters are a type of trousers

  • @DaniBabe7 because this is bad

    its just random shit

i can't believe i sat through more than 30 seconds of that

  • @echoftw then youre obviously not into this type of music.. thats like going onto drum and bass (if you dont like it) and commenting aload of shit about the genre, you retard

  • @DaniBabe7 because that's the nature of human kind

  • @DaniBabe7 Because they only listen to one style of music, have no idea that other things can be good but the things they know.

Having an open mind it's not given... It's something that you learn... (Starting by listening i think !)

  • @DaniBabe7 because it's not that new and it's not that different. it's just some floppy haired post-dubstep twat squeeling over half-arsed chords.

  • @DaniBabe7 I agree but what James is doing isn t different at all. I 've heard short wave University broadcasts playing the innovations of some basement dwelling insomniac doing the same thing like 15 years ago. i really like what I hear here tho. I think the reason people slam something new is because they are trying to darken the gray demarcation line between genuine and pretentious. (2 cents) People also slam stuff like this because they hate the stereotypical fans it draws.

  • @DaniBabe7 Why is it, that when some douche comes across some pretentious shit he automatically thinks it's new? Why can't they just take the time to realize this sort of sounds have already been explored since the first decades of the past century?

  • @jade616 I'd very much like to hear an equivalent tune from 1910. Link?

  • Comment removed

  • @DaniBabe7 Because it sucks

  • @DaniBabe7 Because ppl do like change...anything out of the norm is weird...I fully embrace this gu and his style is so amazing!!!!

  • @DaniBabe7 I have always maintained that good art takes patience. I feel bad that more people can't embrace that concept. Worthy creation requires digestion. Not that a piece can't immediately sweep you off your feet, though. There's always more layers to the cake, especially in music. Take time to eat each layer yo! Cool tune.

  • @DaniBabe7 You hate or you love it, I guess

  • shit sucks

  • what the hell is this?

  • And I, for one, welcome our new music overlord.

  • 'Being a Dickhead's Cool' comes to mind.

  • What pretentious drivel this is. It sounds more like a skipping CD than actual music.

  • glad i clicked

  • Oh boring, the fuck is wrong with you people?

  • @moustached48 its called different taste of music. douchebag

  • @moustached48 they suck

  • @moustached48 Taste differs from person to person. Blake produces some minimal tunes, incorporating dubstep. Dubstep doesn't HAVE to be big phat "WOBWOBWOBWOB" baseline in order to be great. Personally i do like big phat wobbles now and then, but i don't feel the need to send my ears to hell and back every time in order to enjoy dubstep. I feel these kind of tunes (Blakes) sound more thought out and clever, rather then the intro-rise-drop-repeat progression alot of dubstep tracks have nowaday

  • 8 people don't think he does, and they are so wrong

  • 0:57 and on is CRAZY good

  • its amazing i love you james his music is wunderfull!!!!♥♥♥♥♥

  • when will this guy come to berlin?? hope soon, maybe with everything everything?? :)

  • UUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.....absolutely minimal, but beautiful..................

  • nice.

  • It is dubstep well that's what James intended it to be, I red it in an interview with him

  • When you tour N. America please let Seattle Washington be on of your first stops :)

  • i felt like someone was walking in my room

  • Diepe emoties legt James er in, meer dan het origineel....

  • James Blake seems to be one of those guys that people are saying are great only because it's a cool name to throw around. Whether you think his stuff is good or not, the one thing i'm sure of is that this is not the way electronic music is going, it's a red herring. Something like Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is the direction I think things are looking in the future, which is definitely a good thing

  • @cowboygeorge001

i had never ever heard of him

went home for the weekend, saw a piece of Limit to your love, and loved it straight away

  • Minimal techno, some electronics, can't hear much dubstep, ambient

  • @kuj4z i hear 2 step in the rythym, and blues in the melody n vocals not sure about the minimal techno?

  • @kuj4z the tempo is 140 bpm and the kickdrums are not played every count but every 2 counts, so that kinda makes it dubstep, but I agree that this is by far not pure dubstep

  • The next Genius ?!

  • bit trippy aint it?

  • Silent Hill...
