  • Why did Tesla have to get loans from the US government instead of private investors? So let's see if the market will buy their high dollar cars. They might.

  • The production model still looks the same. Fecking brilliant car.

  • It's got the ass of a jag.. and i'm not ashamed to say i like it

  • AWESOME!

    :-)

  • Love their drive train design. Very unique and compact. Prices will decrease steadily just like computers, phones etc. as we make more and buy them. We have no choice but to either go electric( where we can use renewables to generate) or biofuels. Our civilization depends on it.

  • What was with all the knocked over cones?

  • Wow.. it will debut one day before my birthday. 0_o

  • Proof that America can actually build real cars

  • i know what i m going to save my money on! :D i m at 2000 € already ;) ...damn school :P

  • It has design ques from the Maserati Quattroporte and the Audi A7 + It's all electric - I want one.

  • WANT!!!

  • i kinda got that feeling that selling this car wont't be that easy. Oil monsters will do anything to knock down the competition. Cos there were people who started to build car like this and are dead now :(

  • @sasoperme true.. but then again Google has their hands in this company

  • @jondaily83 YUP, and the Japanese also working with tesla to produce even better vehicles, batteries and battery swapping stations. let hope the Monopolistic arm of control and planned obsolescence of the oil/car companies come to and end sooner than later; because the stone age did not end because the cavemen ran out of stones; it ended because they got smarter.

  • Tesla Motors makes me want to be a better man.

  • @TheGoalSetter so right now, ur a baddie

  • Funny how the American gov gives billions to companies like Ford and Nissan to develop electric tech and only gives Tesla half a million. Douche

  • @JuanManuelxj6 Agreed. That's why Toyota has gotten involved with Tesla. What a win-win. I'm an American, &I understand the possibly disastrous implications of a failed U.S. auto industry, but they're repeatedly missing the ball despite the many chances they've been given. Killing the EV-1, and now the Volt? Give me a break. This country and its manufacturer's need to invest in battery, solar, and wind (supercharging) power, ALL of which could be incorporated into a vehicle. I hope Tesla booms!

  • @JuanManuelxj6 Tesla is not big enough to make vehicles for war in a hurry, that's why.

  • @JuanManuelxj6 dude Jo Biden has given to Tesla and Fisker 500 million dollars

these marks has very bright future

these marks are future Lambo and Aston Martin

  • @JuanManuelxj6 Tesla has one vehical currently available with beginning MRSP at $109,000 USD. While I do agree the US Government distributes the tax payers dollars in questionable ways (that of course coming from my Canadian point of view) I think they got this one right. It makes more sense to give the powerhouse's of the auto industry more than this lightweight toting a single, expensive supercar.

  • @JuanManuelxj6 thats said everything...

  • @JuanManuelxj6 They've now been funded half a billion.

  • crap i'm gonna have to save a few years for this and get a loan. but i'll do it.

  • Im not an eco-car fan but I love the design of this thing.

    A Maserati Quattroporte for tree-huggers!'

    Greetz from Holland

  • If I charge at night, I have a nuclear powered car!

  • nagyon szép tetszik,,,grat

  • tetszik,okés nagyon supi

  • Guys let's buy some shares from Tesla Motors. It's called TSLA on Nasdaq.

  • super Wagen!

  • ez gyönyörű ,szép autó ,,ful jó

  • OMG can you imagine the price looks a bit liek the new jag, if the prices come down and they do decent miles to a charge and speed then i would change, but with electric pirces shooting up is that going to be as expensive as fuel next ?? supply demand and all that.

  • @onabreeze No where near the price of fuel. I pay $.14 per kW/hr after I use up my base that is around $.12 kW/hr- That includes all taxes. Soon we will speak of MPkW/hr. I don't know the full specs of the S, but the roadster is rated at ~250 miles on a ~50kW/hr pack. That is about 5 miles per kW/hr or 2.8 cents per mile. The S has a more efficient powertrain than the roadster, worse case 4 cents based on weight. Compared to an A6 2.7T(best case MPG w/equal performance) 15 cent per mile.

  • @onabreeze That is based on off peak charging and worse case figures for the S. Drive 2000 miles a month and save $220 on fuel($300 saved on gas - $80 higher electric bill). Put your deposit down now before the waiting list is 3 years long!

  • @onabreeze 40k, with a 7,500$ tax credit. You save around 200-300 dollars per month on fuel depending on your local electrical costs and how much you drive. It's also much more efficient, with less heat // friction so maintenance is far easier.

It's a CLEAN car, in every sense of the word.

  • deployment of eletric cars will cause 2 things

    lower price of gasoline

    higher price of electricity

    how can we win ?

  • @emforty2 False. Cars will be charged during off peak hours when rates are lower. Electric companies will become more profitable from higher sales during off peak hours- If anything, that will lower rates. I use around 70KWH a day with 90% used between 6am-10pm. With 2 Teslas in the garage, I would average about 90KWH a day. Even with 2 Teslas, my night time consumption would be half the rate of my daytime consumption(I know, I'm a big consumer of KWHs). We have the infrastructure and capacity.

  • @flguy32501 and how long will off peak be off peak if demand is high prises are geting worse for electricity its just going to be like oil in the future. unless we go all out on nuclear.

  • @onabreeze NO. Did your calculation include all the sources we can get electricity from. Electricity is the universal currency of energy. which means electricity can be made form all types of sources. All the new mutter about how electric cars will strain the power grid is just another way to keep the masses under a monopoly.

  • @Tamayo1980

If the grid wasn't run by a monopoly, it would be a disaster, that's why the government sanctions it.

  • Like we´ve heard from our politicians nowadays: "There´s absolutely no alternative!!"

  • blue leds? is that lega?

when will they make a cheap one? sure that it is expensive ike a ferrari and runs like a dacia

  • @ampeyro

It has a performance and price of a BMW for example. If you look at aceleration, it's even better than almost any gasoline car, as electric motors are much more efficient in transmiting torque for example.

First inform yourself before making precipitated assumptions.

  • @callatrrre sorry, the data was in american units and i must have mistaken translating them into the universal system

  • pretty car, but Tesla's name and legacy is being whored all over again. Aargh.

  • ASTON MARTIN. xD

  • Well done Tesla - beautiful. Can't wait until it starts rolling off the production lines. I hope it is really successful so you can go on to deliver cheaper more accessible cars in the future.

  • POOR CLONE OF ASTON MARTIN

  • Is it just me or do oil companies really want to take down Tesla, the middle east bastards bought a large stake in Tesla, and 3 tesla engineers died in a plane crash, I wonder if anyone was behind that. I really think Tesla workers might be in danger from oil companies. Something needs to be done about the middle east sheikhs and oil companies. Please people we cannot kill the electric car anymore it's about the future, down with oil.

  • @djthugsta - It's a haunting.

  • @djthugsta you sir, are smart and I think you claim more then you know but how ever, we people need to pay a little more attention to whats going on here, and trust the media alot less then we do right now

  • I might be way off base, but isn't this a joke (At Teslas expense). Uncompromised in style and performance and then it shows a bunch of knocked over cones.

  • @gnomesarecute If you look closely, they're not knocked down, they laid out to show the route around the cones.

  • nice wish there was more to the video and a show of more of the cars features

  • hello

  • big oil is investing their windfall profits on power[electricity] generating plants to prepare for the inevitable

next your electricity rates will SHOOT UP HIGH ! and theres NOTHING you can do about it !

  • I find it funny, that people complain how much this car looks like an Aston Martin (Rapide, for example). That's like saying your girlfriend looks too much like Jessica Alba. Actually, I don't even think it looks that much like an Aston, to me, it looks like a combination of Jaguar XF and XJ.

  • scary

  • how much is it or what is the price tag on this car?

  • @dieselcowboy777 $49, 900

  • this car looks so nice, I just don't see the poin why all the rich people is buying Mercs and Audis.... They must be blind i guess..

  • ASTON MARTIN SHOULD SUE!!!!!!!!!

  • an independent company does what 3 major auto corporations wont or cant, thats ta damn shame, Good job Telsa

  • 17th of february 2010: I feel so sad about the 3 tesla engineers who died today in a airplane-accident. My thoughts go to their souls and their families. R.I.P. friends.

  • @Nichen

That is HORRIBLE news! Where did you discover this? Many important things get little attention from the media so the public does not know. Even I, a HUGE Tesla and Musk fan did not know....

  • i buy one if its nuclear powered

  • The best car which I have ever seen.

    Go tesla! Thank you!

Das Beste Auto das ich je gesehen habe.

    Weiter so! Danke!

  • what is the name of this song

  • Proof America still has it

    Go Tesla!

  • this is a wierd comercial

  • tesla reminds me of a mixture of lotus and maserati for looks and for functionality well there is none other like it. I like the name :) Tesla was a genious who revolutionized electronics and so they name the full electric car after him :)

  • I agree, way fast enough for me too!!

  • Sweet, very nice car. No for gasoline.. Yes Electric ! A range up to 300 miles and 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. It is fast enough for me :D

  • I think it would be better with more range. Why not incorporate a type of solar panel roof or partial roof so it isn't using as much energy to power the vehicle, save you time, give the car the option to charge while you're at work without a plug, might not be much, but at least something...... and give it a range of around 400 miles. The new 45 min. charge mech. would be nice right now, but eh..... just thinking for 49k you can make it so much more efficient with the range of the charge.

  • Take into consideration the 3rd gen prius.... it has a solar A/C unit that keeps the car cool, just think of a way to link it to the batteries. Even if it can't "charge" the battery, it will give it much better range even if it is only sun powered. In another video they talked about wind power as well, there are so many things that anyone can realistically do to improve on a lot of things with this car.... I want one, but I would have to patent something to make it better. Stock it's good, but

  • I think that some things could be better on the vehicle. Now that I think about it, drawing up plans now.

  • umm THIS CAR WILL KILL THE FISKER KARMA -.- just saying....

  • Absolutely... although to be fair, Fisker has a pretty damn good car too. It's great to see so many companies thinking about electrics. (but fisker never made anything as sporty as the tesla roadster though!)

  • Yes I really do hope other companies will fully get rid of gasoline engines. We need to save the world now. And by the way... I Researched a couple of things on this car and on one of the videos the speedometer and the center console screen froze and you couldn't see your speed or use the touch screen console... I hope they can improve on that.

  • @shadowscreecher yea it will!!! hahah! man all electric, fuck hybrid, i hate how the magazines all say that the volt is an electric, its a hybrid, look how the media is trying to brainwash people into thinking a hybrids an electric. i want electric. its sad that the major enginners were killed. doesnt it seem strange that the cars in the last stages to full production and the major engineers are killed

  • @boxa888 what do mean? which engineers were killed?

  • @lmaostefan the tesla roadster enginners, they were all killed on a plane! its really sad, they were all designing the major parts of the new tesla sedan. its sooo soo sad to think that this would happen right before they release the car next year. just look it up, its on the tesla roadster website, and on the internet.

  • @boxa888 Technically the Volt is an electric car because it has an electric drivetrain. The gas motor acts a generator and does not drive the car.

  • @3089280288 hmm iguess if u look at it that way, well i always learned in school that an electric means electric, no other gas contrievance lol. if i had the money i would go all electric, the tesla sedan is the future, you can even add a wireless energy system antenna to the car and give it ulimited milage. i made a small model to show people, i got 20 ft wireless energy transfer.

  • @boxa888 That's a possibility. Then the government or utility company can find a way to tax it.

  • fucking sweet

  • how much is this car going to be?

  • It starts at 49 900 $.

  • This car reminds me an aston martin, which its good, I hope tesla get sucessful with this car. Im actually expect more good electric cars to come. Its time to stop to kill the planet.

  • I cant wait for there to be electric cars on the road. It should have happened 20 years ago. Electric vehicles should be the normal thing and the air should be cleaner already!

  • I wish I had $50,000... no... I wish I had $150,000. Get the tesla roadster and the model S lol. Both are awesome!

  • omg same here

  • from now I'm not buy any gasoline cars

  • Neither am I

  • @hotcuts6064 I feel the same way. Why continue to invest in a something where your exposure to gas prices is unknown and unpredictable?

  • @hotcuts6064 lol, i have been waiting on this day since GM sold out to the oil company. I have 2 vehicles and i plan on replacing one with the Tesla Model S.

  • @hotcuts6064 Hydrogen combustion is the future.....

  • @jambwoy876 Hydrogen will be pimped but electric is the future. Truth is electric is actually the past. It's been suppressed for over 100 years because greedy Oil tycoons cannot control the flow of electricity.

  • Very beautiful electric car indeed... Notice that haven´t got standard door handles. It makes car a little bit more aerodynamic...

  • this is wonderful, best of luck to Tesla on becoming the next big automotive producer. The S looks like the Maserati to me - in any case it is perfect.

  • The only matter is that if you go on highway and get stuck where will you charge again tha batteries? We need stations with electricity and you have to build these. Also,I live in Hungary and it will take a lot of time that these electrical cars will be sold and used.Anyway,it is a nice car.

  • Real nice car,but maybe I've seen this before... Hmmm...Maybe a little Infiniti, the figure resembles to Mazda 6 a bit,and the end is like Jaguar XF.

  • looks like a carbon copy of aston martin...but hey, it looks good...

  • Imagine what Tesla could do if they got some of that bailout money.

  • They did get a big chunk of federal grants. Which is a good thing imo. That model S looks amazing. One of if not the best looking sedans and battery powered as well. Reminds me a bit of the Aston martin sedan concept and the Jaguar XF.

  • Sexy car! $50,000 is a good price.

  • take notes gm and ford, this is how you make an electric car!

  • Exactly. Turn your product weaknes (high price) into its strength. High R/D and high production cost? Make your first electric vehicle a luxury halo car as your starting point. Will garner a lot of good press and interest which paves the way for your downmarket models. Why GM chose Chevy and not Cadillac for their 40K electric vehicle is beyond me. I'm still very much supportive of any EV projects though so I wish them all the best of luck.

  • i agree, gm chevy volt sucks compared to this!

  • I love the look of this car! Too bad Nikola Tesla is not alive today. We would have this car drawling electricity from the air and not need batteries. Brilliance at its best.

  • MUST HAVE

  • dude this car can go 480km with 45min charge and topspead 208km/hr and 0-100km only 5.6sec

  • if you can charge the battery wherever you want, even at home, that's ok then :]

the only thing, that In my opinion is not the best option - the sound of the "engine" :D

suppose it will work like a trolleybus :)

  • what's the max speed?

when they begin to sell this car?

    battery capacity enough for 150-200km?

  • Dont know the first one, 2011, 480km

  • EV RULES ! TESLA S RULES

  • i like this car alot, not for me though, i just couldn't live without the rumble of a v8!! or gear changes lol

  • They are working on a 45 minute charge. The batteries can handle it, it's just it'll require a high power charger (440v). If more battery cars come out I think we'll see more high power chargers, 10-20 minute chargers, that are similar to gas stations. There are a few in Hawaii, but we'll probably see them everywhere if there is demand. Project Better Place might build battery swapping too.

  • Mix of Maserati and an Aston Martin.. Nothing new.

  • totally awsome... speechless

  • Put more videos on youtube

  • Did Obama approve of this?

  • the question i have with this car is whether or not it will remain as fast and reliable it is when you first get it. we have no idea how long electrical engines last, how they could be maintained, simply because we never had a comparison.

So yes, the car looks sweet, but ill wait for the final review and maybe an endurance test.

  • Actually we have a very good idea of how reliable electric motors are. It's used widely in golf carts fork lifts etc and they can last pretty much forever because they only have 1 moving part vs hundreds in a gas engine. There's also basically no maintenance. The batteries are the ones that are the question, but with some of the newer chemistries, like the a123s it should last 200k miles in a BEV no problem, and when it's end of life, it'll still work, it'll just have gradually less range.

  • Aslo lok at Jay Leno s garage site at BAker 100 years old ELCTRIC CAR and you will that the ELECTRIC MOTORS LAST LONGER THAN THAT !!! FUCK THE OIL LOBBY wich destroied cars like EV1

  • ONE WORD: AMAZING!

i subscribed to see the final review...

  • simply get a second battery lol

  • and pack it in your trunk

  • what about maserati, from the side?

  • very nice, but probably WAAAY to expensive

  • this is kickass! 5/5!

  • looks good. They should make the GM plants produce this.

  • aston martin + jaguar + bmw

  • What a magnificient car. Hope this one sells for around 70K I will definately buy it over a BMW M3.

  • M3 probably isnt as fast either

  • Actualy it is about 49000 $

  • No way!!
